I had heard about IF but didn't give it a lot of thought until your video 2 weeks ago. I'm doing 16/8 and lost 6 pounds so far. In the past 10 years, I have tried low carb, walking/aerobics, and counting calories with no success. I'm feeling a lot better, like I can breathe again. I'm waking up earlier, too. Days 9 and 10 were my hardest. I almost gave up so I tried adjusting my eating times from 11-7 to 10-6 and it made all the difference for me.
You're right, your first video went viral and that's how I found you. :) And now I'm addicted to your minimalism content. So glad I found you. New subscriber and really enjoy your approach to life! xx
I've been a subscriber for awhile but the last video really sparked me. On 1/1/2022 I weighed 157 lbs. I have mainly been cutting out processes foods and snacking. Last week when I saw your video I weighed 147 lbs. My goal weight is 135. I decided to give intermittent fasting a try. Today I weigh 145. 2 lbs down since last week. It has been easier than I thought. I decided to start out, my eating window is 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Today at 10:30 I realized I hadn't eaten yet. I really do feel like a switch has been flipped and I'm not obsessing about what to eat or how much. I feel great too! Thank you for your video!
Two days ago I made the decision to try IF as an experiment for the rest of the month. I’m 70, in great health, exercise regularly, but still have gained 10 pounds over the last five years and it’s made me feel frumpy. My metabolism has obviously slowed down over the years but my appetite hasn’t so I hope a daily 6-hour window of eating will help my body reset a bit. Today was day 2 and it’s not easy but I’m determined to stick to this. You look marvelous, BTW!
I know what you mean about how you just don't care about food anymore. I intermittent fast and I don't care about food and I love it! I'm just not interested and food used to rule my life. Even when I do I eat. I naturally can only eat small amounts. Living your life without the constant thoughts and cravings for food is heaven to me. Plus like you, when my eating window opens, I eat whatever I want. It's a godsend for people who have had food addiction and weight problems their whole lives.
I’ve debated while trying IF but haven’t seriously taken the plunge. I have 30-40 lbs to lose. I love you approach and can’t wait to see the rest of that painting. I really enjoy watching you do other things as you chat. It makes your videos so interesting!
I'm the same way. I can't get it through my head that it sounds like a starvation diet (some do OMAD). It just seems like it could be an eating disorder to me 🤷♀️. But I want so badly to try it because I'm desperate.
@dlm4501 I find it interesting that people think IF is an eating disorder, when everyone I know who does it is in the best health of their lives. Also, we are so used to having food available 24/7 that we can't imagine depriving ourselves of it for any amount of time. We are so spoiled!

In my research of intermittent fasting, I've read that fasting over 12 hours for a long period of time will cause gall bladder issues. Have you seen anything online that rebukes that claim? I am going to try intermittent fasting but will have to find a good "eating window" that works for me. I get up at 2:30 am and dinner is over by 6:30pm usually. Might try the 12:12 time frame and eat 7am-7pm and see how it goes. If I can stop snacking after work/before dinner, that would help a lot.
From what I've found it needs to be over 16 hours to effect insulin, which is what makes intermittent fasting so effective for weight loss. Jason Fung here on TH-cam has some great information.
Dr. Eric Berg has lots of good videos on low carb /keto eating and Carolyn Ketchum whose channel is called All Day I Dream About Food has amazing low carb recipes. I have her cookbooks and use them all the time.

You could just have coffee with him. Sometimes it's just the time spent together, not whether you are both eating together that's important. You could also adjust your eating window for that day if you do really want to eat with him.
Oh I know, but there are some people with health conditions where they need to be careful of the changes that they make, and I certainly don't know enough to be recommending diet changes. ❤️
a friend was saying she went to two meals a day. Still I know her so I asked her what she did when she craved something sweet in the middle of the night. I just had to shake my head: she will drink Sunny D.
😂 It's been years since I drank Sunny D. No thanks! lol I have never craved anything in the middle of the night, I know some people wake up and want to eat sweets, but I've never thought of eating in the middle of the night. ❤️
Sometimes if I stay up ast 1 I get hungry. Usually I'm working and can keep my mind off it, but there was one time about a week ago I started eating around 1 and thought I would nvr get full. I didn't feel like eating at all the rest of the day, so I didn't. My weight went up that day but went right back down the next. It all evened out. Sometimes in life we are just hungrier than other days.
Her hair is natural. That is very easy to see. She never said she was an expert. Maybe you weren’t listening. And yes, she makes money from the views she gets on her channel. Do you work for free? Why aren’t you smarter than this?

You could just have coffee with him. Sometimes it's just the time spent together, not whether you are both eating together that's important. You could also adjust your eating window for that day if you do really want to eat with him.
You look amazing!
Thank you so much
Great ideas! This is totally doable 🎉
Thank you so much! Thank you for joining me for the premiere! ❤️
What are you going to paint?
I'm just deciding this week what to paint on it - planning to record today. 😁
Dr Mike Hansen has a channel and is currently explaining intermittent fasting. His videos are great!!
Oh thank you!
@@Nourishingminimalism Jason Fung also has tons about fasting and he is a dr.
I jost love your pants. Are the Betabrand and if so which cut?🥰
How long after starting intermittent fasting 1) did you no longer have cravings, and 2) get more energy?
It took about 4-5 weeks for me, it takes patience, good luck on your journey👍
Doctors are not interested if you ask them unless they can prescribe !
Oh I know, but there are some people with health conditions where they need to be careful of the changes that they make, and I certainly don't know enough to be recommending diet changes. ❤️
Interesting
You llook really good.
I'll bet those tubes are where you secretly hide your mustard and catsup! 4:00
❤️👍🏻
Holy cow! I thought you were in your late 20s early 30 until you mentioned having a son old enough to have a job.
Aw, thank you! I'm 46 😊
a friend was saying she went to two meals a day. Still I know her so I asked her what she did when she craved something sweet in the middle of the night. I just had to shake my head: she will drink Sunny D.
😂 It's been years since I drank Sunny D. No thanks! lol
I have never craved anything in the middle of the night, I know some people wake up and want to eat sweets, but I've never thought of eating in the middle of the night.
😘❤️👍
You dyed your hair. Too. What makes every one on stupid cyber space an expert. You just want to make money.
How rude, she is just sharing her experience
Her hair is natural. That is very easy to see. She never said she was an expert. Maybe you weren’t listening. And yes, she makes money from the views she gets on her channel. Do you work for free? Why aren’t you smarter than this?
My husband cut out coffee to help lower his blood pressure and replaced it with Roasted Dandelion Root tea and is quite happy with it. He says it's close enough to coffee flavour and satisfies him.
That's fascinating! Thanks for sharing.
I drink that too. It is delicious and tastes like coffee only not bitter,☕
@@barbarabruce7648 wow. thanks for commenting! I had heard about this a long time ago and purchased it a while back but was nervous and never tried it! still sitting on my shelf! unopened. so.. I think I'm going to try it today. do you have any tips or suggestions?
@@tamarunitamaruni4724 Just follow the instructions on the packet. Put in a splash of your favourite milk and enjoy.
@@barbarabruce7648 but don't put in the milk if it's not your eating window. It will break your fast.
