sorry I was late! anyways, Colin is my favorite member, his baselines add so much texture to the songs, and I feel his lack of presence was the biggest problem I have with The Smile, also he plays important emotional support to Jonny.

@@GreenToast01 adjective saint has an amazing cover. And right now I'm basically just transcribing that. Warren's tutorial is a little to lose and he doesn't explain things very clearly. In addition to that he doesn't really touch the surface on how to Strum the song.

@@Barrs301 protip: don't start with the beginning. Start by learning the parts in the bridge. The syncopated strumming, the inverted chords that weave through that haunting melody - it really gives you a strong hook on the song. The rest will kind of...fall into place.

I got In Rainbows as soon as it was available on CD because I didn't have an MP3 player and wanted to play it in my car, so no download. The first listen through was a little awkward--I wasn't sure if I liked it or not. I hadn't really gotten past OK Computer in my exploration of their music by then.
Then I went through a whole bunch of things in my life, and didn't hear any of the songs again for maybe 5 years. Since then I've gotten even more into Radiohead, listened to more (or nearly all) of their songs, and then, just recently, I watched a video of a young man reacting to the whole album for the first time, and I realized..."Holy crap, every song on this album is one of my favorite songs!" Except Faust Arp, I guess, though it's good. I hadn't realized how much I loved the album before that, I just loved all the songs on it, just as much as I had loved every song on The Bends or OK Computer (or Sergeant Pepper or Dark Side of the Moon, for that matter). It's an amazing album. So Jacob shouldn't feel troubled by liking this song better the second time. All these songs grow on one, steadily, relentlessly, with growing intensity and power...like the song itself.

@@the15thfloor71 Oh, I agree! In fact, I would say that I like it, relative to the other songs on the album, more than I like, say "Us and Them" compared to the rest of Dark Side of the Moon, and that is high praise!

I'm a relatively new fan of Radiohead. I got into them in the tail end of 2019 through my brother who showed me "High and Dry" due to my love for Coldplays first album Parachutes. Since then I have grown to listen to all of their albums and I would say they're definitely one of my favourite bands (top 3).
First time I listened to In Rainbows I don't know why I never really came back to a lot of the songs but when I finally did go back it was an instant 10/10 and my brother ended up getting the cover as his first tattoo so it's a special album for us.
Been really enjoying these videos as I just found you guys a while back and I'm looking forward to hearing more of Jakobs opinions on these songs although I do hope eventually you'll branch out to different bands that you like from your youth for him to try out but you probably already have that planned.

Hello! First of all, I want to thank you for all the stuff you do. I was lucky to find this channel as I am a big fan of both bands and the way how each other expresses his opinion about the music makes me happy all the time. Frankly speaking, I am a gen Z, but the spirit in me is closer to the gen X, because I really love all that grunge, mental heaviness and pain in songs. However, my becoming a music maniac began with imagine dragons. Well, I've got some great songs to reccomend. Let's begin with Radiohead. I can't wait to see the review on the song "the bends" from the album with the same title. I think, this is a great album and you should listen to more songs from it(bones, black star also would be perfect). The song "anyone can play guitar" is a great song from the beginning of Radiohead. "The daily mail", "follow me around" and "I promise" are great too.. As for the role reversal, I want to see songs "blur" and "higher ground" from the latest imagine dragons album. Song "dull knives" is one of my favourites. I do really love it for combination of rock energy and feelings of loneliness, pain and self destruction. As for viewers request, I want you to listen to foo fighters. This band might be perfect for gen X, as it is one of the most iconic rock bands. The songs "everlong", "the pretender" and "best of you" are the most popular, but I can recommend some other interesting songs. This band also has its interesting history and features. The dynamic which drums give in every their song is unique. Thanks again for your reviews, it's a breath of fresh air
