I cut the cord last week after Directv (ATT) raised our tv bill to $176 .. they started the "your such a valued customer and we have more promotions to get your bill lower" i said NO NOT INTERESTED, i am done after 13yrs with them. Now its 2 firesticks and streaming, fiber optic internet and down to $100/month for tv/internet instead of $215/month
I cut the cord almost a year ago. DTV was charging me almost 200/month and I was sick of it. I have Prime, Netflix, Philo, and a lot of the free TV sites IMDB is one of my favs. I wish I'd made this switch years ago. FYI make sure you internet is unlimited data so you don't get slammed with overages, but other than that kick back and enjoy the freedom.
Doc, Not sure if you have experienced this yet but with the next FireTV/Fire Stick update the developer options are not showing to make changes. You should be able to remedy that. If you go into preferences, about device, and click on about device 7 times it should reappear.

Since you're obviously a pro with the Fire stick, maybe you can answer this... Most of the time, when I select "Find" on the home screen, nothing ever comes up in terms of icons. Also, most of the time, the app icons on the home screen aren't there either. Amazon isn't any help because they say the stick is out of troubleshooting time or some such garbage. I've cleared app cache and have even went as far as factory reset and it all does the same thing.
Thank you for all the help. Question: When I'm at "My Stuff", and switch between Recorded, Scheduled, Added...etc, the screen flashes older - but now deleted - recordings for a split second and disappears. This is very annoying and obviously a glitch of some sort. Any way to stop this from happening? I've only had the Firestick for a week, so I don't if I've gotten any updates yet. But could a new update fix this maybe?

You dont get the point why people use Wolf launcher, some sideloaded apps are grey, you cant see which app it is. If an app doesnt work anymore because of missing updates u can sideload them. Amazone updates are only good for Amazone because they dont want people to customise there sticks. People bought this sticks an they own them, wo has the right to break them and make them that useless?! Nothing personal Doc 😉
@@DocSquiffy Sorry but you dont get it or you dont want to understand it. Under Wolf launcher the grey apps appear, so it is fixed. The Amazone Launcher is going to be deactivated by debloater and isnt running in the backround!

I logged into the one in Canada Ontario I believe and it's working for me.

U know wolf launcher doesn't fix this ? It actually runs a launcher over the main one using resources!

Go to TH-cam settings, Playback Speed, and turn it down to 75% and video will be slower for you.
I know of people that would struggle keeping up with 0.25 speed.
