MrMerlin, it has been a pleasure watching your casting skills grow over the past year. Your B Stream coverage of Bee v Vortix was fantastic. You belong right up there with Lidikor, Drongo, KP, Cracked, etc. Thanks for the content and the work you put in. Cheers.
I might be wrong but it seems to me that gal has somewhat underestimated either the power of ghulams or their numbers since he waited a long time to invest in melee armour upgrades. I feel like he might have stood a chance if he got those upgrades sooner and maybe invested in artillery.
@@Mais1Felix It's a matter of cultural respect, IMO. At least always keep trying to improve, even if you can't do it right on the first try. Grubby is a great example -- He always tries his best (usually pretty good) to pronounce foreign words as closely as possible to how it's natively pronounced, and I think it enhances the diversity of real-life cultures that make the Age games so special compared to other RTS.
I definitely feel better about going against English as Abbasid in this patch, and I do like the idea of going Culture Wing into Fast Castle Military Wing now, which I never bothered with in the past. Using the ghulam to force English to stop making longbows seems advantageous, but it would have been interesting to see the Council Hall in this matchup just to confirm that longbows couldn't build an overwhelming mass before Abbasid is makes units in Castle Age. I suspect English might still be stronger as long as they can spot the fast castle and/or apply immediate pressure to force Abbasid to make units.
Good cast! I like the map, but I think the relics in the corner islands is kinda lame. Also, I think it’s pronounced like goo-lahm, but I could be wrong
If any dev is watching this vid and looking at this comment, please make armored units get +2 defense vs multistrikes (every hit after the first), and also make multistrikes have a minimum damage of zero, so only the first hit from zhuge nu and ghulams can deal 1 damage minimum. These units are supposed to be good vs unarmored but end up being god tier vs everything.
Plural: men at arms. Singular: a man at arms.
merlin coming in clutch in this bit of a dry spell for aoe4 content to keep us entertained.
thank you mr merlin

Imagine if Corvinus added a couple of camel archers to add 2 armour on them. Double att, 10 armor, 310 hp🥵
That will be more crazy if he use camel support

Since you're British, ghulam is pronounced as "g" + "alarm" (literally as you'd pronounce it like in alarm clock)
🙄. If you understood why keep correcting? This is so boring

This is my main issue. I always get overwhelmed before I can counter 😢
ironclad armour reducing damage twice seems like a cool matchup

My prediction was that imp age Ghulam is gonna be busted and its intended counters (Lancers, Xbows) won't be much of a counter.
Heal aura aka "priest ability" 😂
Ghulams are the strongest MAA in the game. Just gotta Feudal all in vs Abba every game tho.
Goo Lam!
it is "go lam" not gulom 😂😂 and it means a young man spread it ❤
Why are people saying abbasid are weak after patch? These ghulams absolutely shred through everything
they are Still bugged, this is not their full power, they are attacking 33% seconds slower than intended
It's pronounced (goo-laam)
its not Gollum xD. its GU LAM....repeat with me GU LAM

Keep in mind that gal delayed his armour upgrades for a very long time. The Ghulams would've been much less effective if those came in earlier.
I would kill for having someone like Spirit of the Law in age4 age of noob is noob
