They weren't in trouble until the track came off the rear sprocket. Should have drug it up on flat ground with the excavator and backed it onto the front idler after releasing track tensioner. Serious lack of supervision. I've been in that situation more times than I'd like to say by myself, down in a hole during a rain storm. Not fun. got to use your head. Excavator was just tearing things up.
Bury it , report it stolen, collect the insurance !. Might be quicker.
Why doesn't the dozer driver stay put.

It might have been easier. someone would have just called in and mechanic. Instead of wasting the whole day. Trying to put the track on. And how much money did they lose. And how much destruction to the gear. When they put the track back on. I would have took that out of someone's paycheck

I read the word 'dumb' a lot below. When the digger came I knew they were going to dig out the road in front of the stuck dozer! Some hopes - he came to wreck the machine instead of pull it out. And all those grown-ups driving past as well! Silly me - it's a sketch for Cambodian Monty Python.

Don't you mean remove the grease nipple to release the track tension, used the digger to pull the blade round towards the road to line up the track better, then track forward slowly to get the dozer back on its track properly before tightening up the track again.
Assuming they carry a grease gun and spanners in the cab and the track was not loose in the first place.
It might have been easier to hook it from the blade part, the 210 have more than enough power to pull tha dozer clean out
