Guys on the ground ,stop your dumps short of drop 10 feet to be on the safe side. Yes it's tempting to to fill the hole , but stop them short this way the dozer driver tracks over and over the loose material giving you a more substantial platform. 😁

What would you have done? They were in the process of filling the gorge anyway, so no time lost in creating a platform for dozer.

It took them whole day to grasp the idea of pulling the truck from the front? unbelievable. Actually the komatsu man nearly flipped the truck on to its left side

Took too long if the truck was sinking it could've tipped over the doozer needed to approach from the side and stop the blade at edge behind the truck and twist it sideways no need to push it from behind too dangerous.
I don't think anyone had a cable till the guy with it showed up.
I don't see why that dozer couldn't push it out, the tires on the truck weren't even turning when the dozer was pushing.
What is the point of all this? Are they trying to fill the downhill with gravel? Most of them didn't even go downhill.
Bring a half loaded truck, hook up a chain or tow rope and dump, out in 5 minutes

Se sabe, que se debe hacer por capas, e ir apelmazando para que no quede relleno blando abajo...
Este rellenado, va a quedar duro solo ennla parte de arriba, y abajo queda muy blando y sin consistencia... Más aún, si cargaron directamente sobre el estero...
En poco tiempo, van a ver que se hunde de nuevo el terreno rellenado... Y si construyen enseguida allí, la obra va a presentar fisuras en varias partes...

I was about to subscribe then I noticed that the same scene from different camera angles made this video much longer than it should have.
I have got to think it would have been much easier to pull it out with dozer on the end of a chain when the truck first found the soft spot.

After all the other work they pulled with another truck. They have the dozers but built the platform to push from before showing them adding the pull.

cud have broken the axel or things if only pulled.. it needed little lift n push from the back.. front was hanging.. diff must have been touching da ground...

@@calvingreene90 look in 20th second.. diff is touching the ground. and the truck us loaded. more u pull. tyre will go in..n so will the diff.. the soil underneath the truck is loose.. just a little push n lift will help.. wen u pull..

As a dozer operator, I always carry a wire rope checker sling in my truck for just such occasions, it’s saved my ass more than once! Good job! 💪💪🙌🙌👊🤟🤙👍👍
@@ageingtrucker for sure! But some folks just have to learn the hard way! I can't count the number of times I've seen people use a chain, and maybe for a car, but when you're dealing with something that's almost a hundred thousand pounds, you gotta have a cable choker.

They have a lot to learn. I seen them popping front axles off the ground because they would not pull up and let the load slid out backing to close to the edge. ( was that worth the 3 feet closer he got?) Pulling with a empty truck and pulling to the side it is falling over on.
Most jobs I have been on, their would have been a few people fired here. This is how trucks get broken and time gets wasted.

@@ironwoodworkman4917 yeah, I know what you mean. The thing to keep in mind is that they haven't been doing that kind of work for very long. I started in construction at 16 years old and been in it all my life. That's why there's apprenticeships in the Union, to learn all those little tricks. I used to give a driver a $20 and have him wheel roll it with a load on, that is if there was no compactor. Most gigs like that we'd have an 815 or 825 pushing down the piles and compacting at the same time. If it's gonna be structural fill you know, and then you don't have those kinds of problems.
@@dozerboy67 Maybe they need to learn the value of a Foreman. Every foreman I ever knew, when I was a young man did not play. They would tell you one time. If you did not pick up what they were putting down. Let's just say I have seen a lot of guys not come back the next day.
You are right about using the trucks and dozers for compaction.
Even a small sheepsfoot would help.

Oh yeah, that guy... They make him eat with a rubber coated spoon on lunch too. Normally he's locked into a padded çlosed cab by the safety man, but superintendent said it would go too far over budget. So it's handcuffs and a crash helmet for 7 12s.
I am surprised no one got ran over during the filming of this debacle!

If you are watching this to learn how to "unstick" a dump truck, there's some better principles.
Have plenty of tow chains or cables.
Go downhill if you can. They might have ben able to dig under the left rear wheels as they did and level the truck by backing up a bit. After then dumping the load it would have been easier to have held the truck, then pulled it back up; after all, there were enough dozers and loaded trucks there.
Using the dozer to PUSH UPHILL FROM BEHIND is much less efficient than pulling from more solid level ground in front, and the dozer doesn't have to push up its own weight as well as the truck's.
Lifting the rear of the truck means the left rear wheels will just spin and the truck is then not able to help pull itself up out of the hole. Use every advantage you have.
When pulling with a dump truck, use a full one - empty trucks have notoriously bad traction.
I stuck my own truck this way. I chained my car to the top of the box and SLOWLY tipped up to dump as much dirt as possible. The chain was long enough that if the truck tipped it would not pull the car into it. I could not get to the back to unload with the excavator but I had enough chain left to also pull from the front. Working alone you have to release the truck's brakes to pull it with the excavator. Be sure to have a rock or log in place to stop it from rolling once pulled free.
Obey all the other good suggestions in the comments, as well.

After they managed to get the stuck truck laying straight so that the dumper would work why didn't they empty the truck??
Guess the ground under the truck is not compressed enough to stand that weight when he try to dump. All the load will rest on the last axle then.

Could have attached a chain to front of truck and anchored it to a bulldozer. Let the truck dump its load, the pull it out. 10 minute fix
Would have destroyed the frame of the truck.
How about tripping the Tailgate and letting at least some of the load fall out?
Loaded the truck would have rolled either way !

I once hauled a komatsu and a D9 out of a swampy sink hole, with a D9 special, by passing a cable under the Special, from front to back and using the combined weight of the two stuck tractors to give the Special enough traction, to reverse out, pulling the two out,am wondering why this method is not used in this case
I once hauled a wife out of a bathtub with a Wd40 extra, by passing a rope under her ass crack, from front to back, using a multi point pry bar and a 1/2" socket ratchet to tighten the bolt
Leave aberm as high as the tallest tire that they can back up against so they dont go off end

Most dump trucks I have seen have a sign on the tailgate that says do not push.
Maybe that's why they did not empty the load.

I might not Duzer much but when I do I wear a helmet
Could have put some blocks behind the wheels to avoid slipping and just had some guys with shovels get in the dump truck and empty the load. That way it would have been lighter and the bulldozer could have just pushed it free .🇺🇸🇺🇸

Doing it the hardest possible way. All they had to do was level the truck and dump the load. The rest would have been easy.
They should have push the truck from the tipping side. Using the dirt as a wall between the dozer and the truck. Therefore minimizing the damage to the side walls in my opinion as an tonka toy expert 😆😅🤣😆🤣

2. Have 1 dozer do nothing but keep truck from tipping over.
3. Dig hole next to truck.
4. Fill hole back up.
5. Make ramp to push truck.
6. Don't tow the truck.
7. Push truck with no results.
8. Tow the truck.
I was about to ask if they had tried pulling the truck out first. I'm not sure there is a suitable place to pull on in front. Not only that, if the truck is so bogged down, the dozer can't easily push it out, if they just pull on it -- even in a suitable tow point -- it might pull axles out from underneath the truck whether that is a front axle or rear axle. It also looked like the truck was tipping further as time went by. Having been a dozer operator, I do know a cat doesn't push uphill on loose material as good as it does on level terrain. I'm also curious to know why they took the trucks up to the edge of a loose bank when they had dozers shoving off the bank.

One of the trucks had sun visors on top and bottom of front windscreen.only a Crack in the middle was open to see out of. In the States you couldn't do that, but it looked really cool.
