WasteSMART Awards 2024
The Brisbane City Council WasteSMART Awards celebrate the incredible efforts of residents, businesses and groups dedicated to keeping our city clean and green.
There were two finalists this year from the Walter Taylor Ward:

I would like to take this opportunity to encourage more individuals, businesses and groups to apply for the 2025 WasteSMART Awards.
Let’s continue celebrating and inspiring sustainable action in Brisbane!
Indooroopilly Library Gold Stars and Little Stars Awards Ceremony
On Wednesday, I was pleased to award the members in the Gold Star and Little Stars Reading Club program with a medallion and certificate for completing their 6 weeks of reading!
As a previous primary school teacher, I understand the essentials of literary for early childhood education and social development as it provides young children with meaningful connections that help them engage. This program plays a vital role in encouraging children to get involved in recreational reading and reward them for their efforts.
DID YOU KNOW? This year so far, we have had 2381 children register for Gold Star and 2354 register for Little Stars, bringing total registrations to around 4,735!
