As a mental health nurse and someone who has ALSO suffered very bad bouts of depression on and off since I was 16 I can safely say that your words and honesty will defiantly touch peoples hearts and foe someone your age to show the courage and maturity to openly speak about it. I have nothing but the deepest respect for you.as I said on another of your vids I am DEFANATLY a fan of yours now and if you ever need to talk you know where to find me.xxxxxxx
Thank you Flex for being so honest about your depression, I am sure this will help out many of your subscribers, especially the younger ones who think it 'uncool' to open up. I too suffer from depression & had a very bad time starting a few months back - that's how I got into watching Urbexers, a bit of escapism from myself. So keep up your excellent work & you're a top lad!! x
Thank you for putting this out there. Even today there are people who think talking about things like this is a sign of weakness. That could not be further from the truth. It takes courage to admit something is wrong. Sometimes it must be obvious from the outside, with people asking "are you OK?" but it's hard to say anything other than "I'm fine" until you admit to yourself that there is something going on. Hope the support you get works for you. A fellow urbexer from Scotland. :-)
Alistair McIntyre Thankyou for the suport, as always it means alot and i hope my video helps people, i want people to see there is a way out and if i can help in any way i would be happy. Thanks for you're messege 😊
Much respect ❤️ I’m a sufferer if the dreaded black dog, My marriage broke down because of my depression, back then there wasn’t much help for it. Mine started when I was 14 & diagnosed with epilepsy... I didn’t know what to do or why it was all happening. These days I’ve had the help, I’m medicated but I know what to look out for when I’m dropping into another bout. Each time it makes me stronger, and the experiences add to my own coping mechanisms to deal with it. I can’t recommend Cognitive behavioural therapy enough to ppl, it’s a life changing experience & I honestly believe everyone needs it - whether they have depression or not. Much love to all you depression warriors, you’re stronger than you realise 💪🏻❤️ x
+Kathryn Pass Thankyou so much for that comment. It touched me. And i would like to say if you ever need anyone to talk to please feel free to chat with me on my channel, i am here for all of you :) much love from the team.
FlexUrbanExploring Thankyou so much, such a thoughtful thing to do! Keep doing what you love, that helps so much & the same applies to you. I’m a pro with depression these days lol it rears it’s ugly head but he/she gets kicked to the curb these days 💪🏻💪🏻 Anyone suffering needs to realise it’s an actual chemical imbalance in their brain, they aren’t mad - it’s a medical condition just like any other, the drugs we need to take just level our imbalance out. Ignore any stigma surrounding it & pity the ppl who do judge it! I embrace my daft now 😂 and don’t care a bit, haha Can’t wait to see more of Manchester underground, it’s absolutely fascinating! Xxxx
Hi flex just watched your video I was diagnosed with ptsd after my accident 2 yrs ago and now I find im a different person won't be the same again , its sad as my family don't understand or seem to care , on my own with this , I'm coping with being in a routine which helps, I find i can't do everyday stuff anymore things have slipped badly but I'm not pushing myself to do them sorry your feeling same way , ps I've come across fighting with fighters so going through your videos , I know this video was a while ago hoping you feel better now
No matter how tuff it got for me, I let everything out for weeks, it was horrible 😞 especially trying to keep a brace face in front of my kids it's horrible I got diagnosed with it last year in September and I still feel down now and then, but I look at my beautiful kids and it keeps me going! Hope your okay, always here no one should suffer alone I'd love to help people that has suffered! X
Kase Leigh Thankyou, i hope i can help people in some way or another, i am going todo video's through out my depression and try to see if a difference comes from it, hope one day it does x
Flex speaking out as you have will help many blokes and women to first accept they have a problem then seek help from others. So easy to hide behind a smile or lock yourself away doing whatever you do behind four walls. Some ppl will continue to hide even when drs say they are depressed. Talking helps but online as if friends or the mh find out its like being taken over in all u do. So talking to strangers who wont call you for it will help them in the long road. That first step acknowledging they are in need gas to be taken. Blokes will try harder than women to keep quiet but seeing a man speak out will help them see your changes and that they can do it too. Just supporting ppl can help both get stronger to the line it ends and ways to cope in future.
@@TheFlexTapes Thats what I mean ppl can see how talking and reaching out to strangers can change things for the better over time. As a man speaking out after all you went through wasnt a quick " sleep on it things will be fine tomorrow". You accepted you needed help and bow can see the difference. You took the step to improve your life and it works. Man or woman. Best of wishes for you and the next journey with your new baby and family. Xx
..ahh, that is so nice...& yeh, I know exactly where you are coming from mateys.. :).. I have the same problem myself, have suffered with it for a few years now..and it seems that the only ones who understand are the ones like yourself mateys.., who have, or who are experiencing it aswell... ~ & .as you said.. I also experience this fact at times where I feel completely isolated & totally alone. and in the middle of nowhere, with no one around to turn to & I tend to feel very often slo very lonely too. :(.. at times technically I feel there is just no one there..my friend..
All the masks to wear and not being able too share having so much to say but you have to hush hush and bury them away, I suffer from COMPLEX PTSD and some other mental health issues. Everyone deals with situations in different ways. Admitting you have an issue does not make you weak help and support helps healing the agony that goes on in our brain. Good share I use Spoken Word as a coping skill for others to relate always wanted to be part of a documentary on mental health. I subbed you 💜
