As someone that live close preikestolen, it took me 36 years to go on that hike. Did it late may in 2020. Took a pandemic for me to go. And I had the hole thing for myself. I agree, bring a flashlight, also some shoes that is already walked in. chafing on the ankles is the worst when hiking. grocery stores do sell bandage for it. Buy them before going not after. Norwegian mountains is you're own risk. Hope you all had fun.

Now that's the way to travel on daddy's back lol but what a great 5 mile hike that was, although the rocky path looked tough going, with your son on your back. The boardwalk must have been heaven to walk on after all those stone steps but man it sure looked a busy trail up. Two hours was good going I would say with the children, who did very well and man those views were insane, so worth the effort. I think you made the right call stopping when you did, as the views you got were good enough, I would have loved it there. I am a morning person so in the summer I have no problem getting up at 04.00 and hiking first light and love a quiet hike so it would be early morning of late afternoon for me and I always carry a torch (same in the UK). I bet it was not only your kids who had a good nights sleep that night, cheers Alan

Thank You for those kind words!! That is so neat that you can see your brothers house. That area was really nice, I just wish we had more time to explore.
We’re about halfway done with our Norway series, and super excited that we will be going to New Zealand in a few weeks to visit Adeline’s and Matthew’s nephews!!! They can’t wait to see them!!!

It was $134 a night…most likely much higher if it’s during summertime.
