Sunset Heights Act 1 is my favourite song of the game! The synths and key change make it so better and I prefer if this was used as a basis if the stage ever returns. My only critique for Without You is that it was never meant to get a "full version", since most of the second half is just an instrumental + final chorus. If they added new lyrics to it, I might've gotten into it more, but it just feels empty on the second half and I wouldn't think I would prefer the "shorter" version.
My favorite song has got to be Supporting Me, it just hits on a spiritual level and really fits a character like Shadow and his tragic past. Some people may say it’s Biolizard’s theme but I wouldn’t blame them.
Sunset Heights and Kingdom Valley are my goats for in game music but man if we talking over all, Without You is such a hit. It should’ve been in the game and I’ll be forever upset it never was there are multiple moments where it would’ve fit. But overall I love all the music in this game, Sonic always cooks with their music so it wasn’t a surprise this was a good ost
I listen to the OST religiously so here are some specific opinions of mine, in no particular order: 1. EVERY Act 1 track is a certified banger. No more comments here lmao. Also Heroes is my childhood so hearing Rail Canyon again after all these years got me so hype! 2. All Act 2s are great but my favourite HAS to be Kingdom Valley, in fact I’d say it’s the only Act 2 theme that can rival the intensity of the Act 1s! It’s THAT good 3. The White Space hub theme? So eerie and dramatic, I love it, it was a great idea putting All Hail Shadow in as the general motif, because even in this bizarre and awful situation Shadow’s in he’s still not bowing down to anyone, ESPECIALLY not Black Doom. I also love how the Underground version is so much more creepy because it’s where Mephiles is, like everyone KNOWS the danger he possesses… except they don’t because of 06 but yaknow. 4. The boss themes???? Slap. Radical Highway? Slaps. Boss Gate theme? SLAPS. Devil Doom and Neo Devil Doom SLAP. HARD. 5. More White Space love, and a special shoutout to the Chaos Island White Space theme, something about the slow rock mixed in with the beautiful harpsichord (I think it’s a harpsichord?) is just so pleasant to listen to, but it’s also unsettling as anything. Really fits the mysterious vibe, seeing as Shadow has never been to Chaos Island before. Also another shoutout to the Collection Room theme for being so quiet and calm but feeling very disturbed as well. Much appreciation for the quieter music tracks that help set the tone! My favourite track at the moment I think is Space Colony Ark Act 1, because having THAT song for an OPENING level???? Insanity, peak, 10/10. Subject to change at any point though because the entire OST is banging
Rail canyon act 1 is definitely one of my favorites. The first sonic game I ever played was heroes, and I have an extreme soft spot for it. Heck I still have my copy form when I was 6 years old, and rail canyon was always one of my favorite levels in the entire game. I just wish they handled bullet station’s theme better in shadow generations, it just doesn’t hit the same

I absolutely adored Rail Canyon in Heroes for how fast it was and how much energy the song had. I didnt really grow up with many sonic games as i played most of them close to og generations' release, so nothing really felt nostalgic to me. But playing rail canyon again in shadow gens hit me in the feels hard! especially how they updated the song, but still kept all the familiar beats!!

Shadow Generations is the most consistently good soundtrack in the series since the original Generations and Mania. I like every track in the game, even the ones I was initially not a fan of I grew to appreciate a lot more. I wouldn't put it in my top five Sonic soundtracks, but that's mostly because Sonic has a lot of 11/10 soundtracks.

I will forever champion Chaos Island Act 1. It’s insane and all over the place in the best way possible. Could it be better? Yeah, but so could majority of songs in this OST. For a Drum & Bass track it’s not really all that revolutionary either. But that doesn’t matter, cus for me its simplicity just works. Love the growly screechy sounds, love the atmospheric bits with that amaaaaazing melody, love the trance bit in the second half, it’s all peak.
Hey Fadel, I just wanted to say that I saw Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (2024) and Paramount NAILED both the adaptation of Sonic Adventure 2's themes, and the Last Story. I can't believe they got the Last Story right and even expanded upon the thematic depth. It feels much more alive and thematically richer than Adventure 2. I'm saying that the movie really touched upon even darker themes like the cycle of hate, violence, and revenge, we didn't even see this in Adventure 2, I thought this was an awesome addition. It added so much depth to Sonic and Shadow's dynamic and gave even more context to Live and Learn. I just wanted to ask if you agreed. I love Sonic Adventure 2's original source material, but this movie was great, I was not expecting them to expand upon the themes and messages of Adventure 2.
Honestly you should give the Official Soundtrack Release that just dropped a listen cuz not only you hear the high quality mastering of the songs but the way some songs have a proper end HITS DIFFERENT p.s. They added a new City Escape and Vengeance Is Mine Remix as the last 2 songs of the official soundtrack release

Still a good song overall, but I was hoping for more when it came to a full version especially since we had to wait till the OST released to be able to hear it.

I dont get the hate from some people for the EDM tracks. As someone that grew up watching COD MW2 and BO2 Trickshot montages in the 2010's, I love the EDM. Not all of it, but most of it is good.
