Nice, well done Tern! While I love the GSD&HSD, the tech, which is fabulous, is overkill for me and drives price points to the stratosphere. The basic Quickhaul wasn't quite enough capacity and this is just enough - perhaps the Goldilocks in the Tern cargo line up. It's still a bit spendy, but it's encouraging to have this gap filled in the lineup.

I love that Tern has built up onto of the Quick Haul platform. I love the quick haul and this seems like a nice way to get close to a GSD-lite. The quality of life features are great, and I love them on my HSD, but the added capacity is probably most important so it’s nice Tern has a solution for that.

Nice review. A few things that attracted me to Tern was quality of the frame build with independent testing, Bosch drive system. Everything else can be upgraded, which I did and extensive range of purpose built accessories.

Please do the comparison video with the GSD, that would be really useful, thanks

Exciting new bike from Tern. Price point is just right. Love your content and presentation style. If at all possible please review a bike with a throttle that you can recommend. Many of us are semi-throttle dependent. Some are totally dependent. Currently on the Specialized Globe Haul ST as it is the best in class cargo bike with throttle in my price range.

Until recently, there hasn't been a throttle cargo bike that also passes UL-2849 certification. The Aventon Abound is the only one we know of and we will have one coming to review later this summer.

Fantastic overview, thank you! I was surprised to see that the front wheel has a quick release. I suspect that is to help with storage, since the stem doesn't fold down like on the GSD. In your follow-up video, could you comment in more depth on storage and transportation (such as, will the bike fit in the back of a vehicle?).
Personally, I think suspension and a belt drive are well worth the extra money, but this price point is going to be a game changer for individuals and families who would otherwise be on the fence about purchasing an e-bike.

This bike seems perfect for me and my unusual use case, it seems this is definitely the bike I'm buying soon!
Me and my partner live on a college campus as they go to college. We used to have a car but got rid of it because of underuse and high parking fees, but we still want to go places together. They arent a confident enough biker to ride for transportation, so we've been looking to get an electic bike they can ride on the back of. Here in Minneapolis theres plenty of great bike infrastructure so using a bike this way really seems like a perfect fit.
I was originally looking at the quick haul, but was disappointed the back rack weight limit was just 10 pounds too low to carry them on the back. I was thinking about going for the gsd, but the features it brings is really unnecessary and is a little more then I was looking to spend.
I'm glad this middle ground bike that checks all my boxes is coming to market so soon!
I'm looking forward to see your review of it

Great review! Could you share more info about that colorful pannier shown in the beginning of the video? Love the design! 😊

What is the length of the quick haul long and how does this compare to the standard quick haul (also no officially published length) and gsd?

Why not put the light on the handle bar? This way it can be aimed easier especially when front rack is being uses

Good question, assuming because of the height range the handlebars go up and down, the wiring would be a lot to mess with.

It looks like it could in theory run with a Gates belt in a similar way to the Orox? With a suitable tensioner.

Is this a different Bosch motor system the Cargowagen Neo 2 uses?

Has Tern considered belt drive yet? That and the max height are holding me back.

There is belt drive on other bikes. This was focused on price point 🙌
      How tall are you?

Definitely considering this bike but think the one battery is a drawback. Suppose we could buy an extra battery and take it with us for longer trips

Any thoughts comparing the globe haul lt versus the Tern quick haul long?

A new bike releasing on the old Bosch motor system? That's... odd.

Why is it concerned old if it is still being manufactured?

It's not old, it's just lower end

Makes more sense for fleet bikes and if you’re looking for minimal “nice to have” features. It also keeps it in the same class as the Quick Haul, which could be nice for battery swapping (either within a home or within a fleet)

I am extremely disappointed in Tern electric bike. I own a Tern vektron D7i. I rarely used it and still look brand new (4 yo). The battery (Bafang M400 drive) no longer works. I reached out to local dealers and was informed they can’t get a hold of that battery. I reached out to
