    I stack silver and gold to hedge against our debt-fueled, fiat currency-based economy that I am convinced is in severe trouble. Consider stacking silver and gold yourself to help you build and preserve wealth. And thank you for watching Campbell’s Coins!

    I stopped buying gold and am only buying silver.. In the '80's, 1oz of gold could buy 16oz of silver.. Now, 1oz of gold will buy about 90oz of silver.. Silver is cheap relative to the price of gold.. In the past I bought 100oz bars of silver and bags of silver quarters.. Lately I have been buying 1oz silver rounds minted by national or commercial mints. The US is headed for the Greatest Depression in World History.. I plan to use my gold to buy real estate and my silver to buy food from local farmers. Oh, and I plan to use my lead to protect all my other assets..

      How much gold and silver is needed do you think?

    • @barsoom43
      @barsoom43 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@inviz1769 Well, that depends on how bad you think things will get and for how long.. I buy at least 10-20oz of silver every month, some in silver rounds but other in pre-65 US silver coins.. My strategy was this: Determine everything I and my family use or might need in a MadMax scenario.. Buy a little bit of all of it as budget allowed.. Then start over and buy more of everything.. repeat until I had enough of some things.. Food, medical supplies, some cash in small bills, tools for construction/woodworking, PM's.. To protect my family and property, lots of military equipment..

      @@CampbellsCoins Relative to gold, silver is almost free.. My PM's have been doing a great job keeping up with inflation.. Money kept in the bank made almost nothing in interest and in the past 10 years would have lost half its value in purchasing power.. I took most out and bought PM's which have doubled in value since I bought them.. In the end, the Fed will continue to print Monopoly money because Congress will not stop profligate spending.. The USA=North Venezuela.. Hell is coming to America.

    Not one word of this is actually true. Owning US GOLD COINAGE was made illegal in 1933 NOT "owning gold". Millions of Americans still owned gold bars LEGALLY IF they had the money. During the 1950's buying South African Rands and Swiss Francs and bars Credit Suisse were commonplace by wealthy Americans and Hassidic Jews ALL owned gold (often in the form of 1000 Pound Sterling coins) and precious gems. I had relatives that didn't turn all their gold in, in 1933 and I have a vintage 189* Double Eagle in circulated condition NOT a Saint Guldens, but a SF Liberty! This is always at the back of my mind also. Thinking I may be buying more silver, doubt they will ban that, I hope 🤞. But If they do move to ban gold, they will give us a good dollar for it so as people turn it in. I bet the silver and platinum supply will disappear very fast if that happens. Just thinking out loud, but as preppers we do need to consider this to stay ahead of the game. Thanks ✌️.

      Hi Ron, this is a really insightful comment. I'm curious though. You mention they (the govt) will give us a good dollar for turning in gold. But what good is that if the dollar isn't worth anything? You'd be turning in something of value for something of no value. My other thought on this is in regards to after the gold is turned in. Who's to say it's not revalued after it's turned in and banned, like last time?

    • @CampbellsCoins
      @CampbellsCoins  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks Tim. Personally, my view is if you don't hold it, you don't own it. I like having physical gold, silver, and platinum in my possession. That being said, I know some people don't have the luxury of cashing their IRAs or 401ks and must roll them into something. I've working on this topic for a bit and hope to have a video out soon. I'm also in a position where I either roll it over or cash out and I'm thinking of the vaulted IRA services. Yes, it has counterparty risk and logistic issues but I think it's better than stocks, especially at this time. I don't think one should always have their IRA in precious metals and it should transition back and forth between different assets as opportunities present. Hope this helps.

      What I did was transfer my federal government retirement they call it a tsp Thrift Savings Plan it's basically a 401. Transfer that into silver 401 waited a short time just because. And canceled it and had them send me my silver so it's in my hand now. I had to pay taxes on it state and federal just like you would any 401. But it was $450 a kilo and I did that and it's really cool cuz all the kilos came numbered all 75 of them yes I'm bragging a little. But don't you think I was surprised to hold one for the first time in my life yes I was. My dilemma is should I trade some of those kilos in for gold right now? And beef up my gold stack.

    If gold was to be banned in the US, people should never sell theirs. Because what happened last time it was banned, government bought it all for cheep and made it legal again and sold it at a much higher mark up.
    Also, if you go further back in history, China acquired over half of England’s gold/silver for goods and services work. In return the king/queen said we have to divide a plan to get our gold back. So the monarchy decided to mass produce heroine in India. They started to sell it in China until China putt a halt on it quick because they saw what England was trying to do to them. But the monarch owned Hong Kong and found a way to ship it through there and drugged out a mass amount of Chinese, they became addicts and bought the heroine with all the gold/silver they acquired for doing goods and services for the monarch. Long story short, the monarchs plan worked and it set China back for several decades.
    I say this true story because maybe, it’s time they want their gold back again. 🤔

Would not be surprise if gold would go more down during end of year if russia sells more and example buying power of indian gold consumers gets weaker due to inflation

    The counter party risk of gold exists and is distributed. The amount of gold used for electronics and other important things is utterly trivial; it is mostly in the form of jewelry and bricks sitting in a vault somewhere. It is not like silver, which is an industrial metal. That means the price of gold is determined by sentiment. Your counter-party risk is that the sentiment for gold changes. It lost nearly 90% of its value in real terms between the peak in the 80's to the through in the 00's. It's still not above it's 1980 peak in real terms (inflation adjusted, using the lying CPI; way worse with a more accurate inflation estimate). The case for owning gold as I see it is that it's strongly uncorrelated with real, productive assets. High expected inflation is good for gold; people FOMO into gold before the inflation hits and when then it shoots up; when inflation expectations return to "normal" they rush out of gold and into something else and it can underperform just holding dollars (as indeed it did in the 80's, it lost in nominal terms during 15% per year inflation!).

    Gold and silver will only benefit if society holds together. In a SHTF senario, that may not work so well if its long term. Especially when you get hungry or thirsty and have to leave the city IF you can make it out.
    Short term (5-10 years) run of the mill recession/depression maybe. Total anarchy and chaos. No help. You have to haul the gold and silver along with water, food, weapons and ammo.

    If my memory serves me (which it probably doesn't) Putin pulled Russian gold out of Switzerland sometime last year, and brought it back to Russia. It was no big deal at the time, other countries, Brazil, Turkey, to name a few did the same. Now we know Putin did it because he was going to war, and knew sanctions were gonna come. Not too long ago, he sent it back to the Swiss. Probably with assurances from the Swiss that it would be safe with them. The man is not stupid.
