      Not sure of where my question stands on the SHTF topic- but we all hear of a no cash, all digital currency in the future ( sounds like SHTF to me!)- what would that mean for our stacks??? Buying and selling the yellow beauties will no longer be an anonymous endeavor? Will it be even practical to do?
      Have you put much thought into how this could work? ( every move on digital record) How long away? Definitely will take the shine outta that stack for sure. Can this truly happen? I'm having a hard time wrapping it around my head. Seems worse than eating powdered broccoli.

      @@joecavy7869 Difficult to say for certain, and I have been pondering this since the Great Recession.
      I suspect that if you have not acquired your metal before digital transfer, it likely will be too late.
      I think it is likely that the gov is intentionally trying to crash the dollar to reset our currency to digital format and lop off a couple of zeros off our debt and significantly revalue/ devalue the currency where it will be next to impossible to figure out conversion.
      Owned assets will be the foundation to the black market economy.
      There are few certainties; only probabilities.
      Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

    The only thing that bothers me about prepping is that we can't accurately predict which scenario will be most likely. for instance, there is a water crisis in America - I'm specifically referring to Lake Mead drying up and the impact on the southwest due to no rain. There might come a day when the Southwest is not inhabitable in our lifetime due to lack of water resources. If this occurs, all the prepping that are heavy items like buckets of food, hundreds of ounces of silver, might have to be left behind in the case one has to leave one's house and relocate somewhere else in the world on the spur of the moment. Therefore, having GOLD is important because it's a store of wealth and easily transportable unlike silver. You can have balance but don't forget that there could be events that put all that planning for not.

    • @mdredheadguy1979
      @mdredheadguy1979 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wait, gold is easy to transport but silver isn't?
      O thought gold was a dense metal, therefore it would weigh more...
      I missing something here?

      one ounce of gold WEIGHS the same as one ounce of pillows.
      the difference is you can fit an ounce of gold in the size of a coin and put that in your jeans pocket, your wife can also do the same.
      Now your family essentially has enough money to buy land+ house+ start farming/ raising sheep and becoming self sufficient.
      Meanwhile a kilo of silver is less valuable in raw fiat and takes more space

    you are right. preppers think they can take my gold and stuff with a little lead(had one tell me this two days ago) but remember i have lead also. as far as a investment i like pm's. bitcoin $70000 in november today bitcoin at $19000. stock markets down 22% to 35% , and all those investments have third party risks, the biggest risk is they need the internet. without the internet you have nothing. i am older (63) and i was taught to trust the men who fight along side of you, leave no one behind and if you can't see it or feel it, don't trust it. i had family who went over 30 days with no electricity or internet due to a hurricane on the island a few years back. if you only had credit cards, bitcoin or such things you did not eat or buy water. cash and coins (pm's) was king and because they had pm's they were fine

    I've used gold and silver to stack tangible asset's the past couple of years. When I get paid I covert to pm. And when I find supplies I convert pm to cash and purchase goods. The gas in my vehicle was in gas cans in my shed about two months ago. And so the rotation continues. $10 FV junk silver fills my tank at these rising prices today and I payed a lot less for the file when thinking of the price I payed for silver years ago. Almost dubbel.

    I think many of the doomsday scenarios are pretty far fetched. Then again I bet there are many military aged men in Russia and Ukraine who wish they had a pound of gold to stash in their backpacks as they flee their countries to avoid the conflict. As an investor I just want some gold for diversification and as a hedge against inflation.

      Other than food, water, the other precious metal (lead) and firearms. The consensus is our money in the bank is going to be equal to TP.....That is hard to swallow, but precious metals could do the same if confiscated......if i can remember where I buried it!!!
      Question is: Modern Gold and Silver (Public) vs Premium Gold and Silver (Private).
      We refer to gold and silver products that are not plain bullion as Premium or Investment Grade Gold and Silver. The most important advantage to these metals is that they are offered in very limited supply or are no longer made. Supply and demand is a high factor on these coins and a portion of their value is contained in a “premium” which is an additional value over the melt value of the asset.
      This gives these coins buoyancy in all market conditions in comparison to bullion. They are more stable and conservative in down markets yet appreciate very quickly in an up market. These coins have a proven track record of out-performing bullion over the last 40+ years.
      The second advantage to these coins is that they are totally private assets with no Government oversight (unlike plain bullion).
      This is also the last private way to pass wealth on to your heirs.
      Is this a true statement???!!???

    It’s not a number of oz. It’s liquidity. If you have to sell the gold to buy food or goods in a short time, you have too much gold as a percentage of your wealth. It’s hard to know how much as gold’s price is not moving. As it increases in value opportunities will present themselves to liquidate. You can’t eat gold.

    Hey Campbell, I'd like to ask how is gold and silver meant to preserve wealth, when everywhere I look it costs up to 30% more than mark price, and if I try to sell any I get the mark price back so the price would need to go up 30% for me to break even.

    • @CampbellsCoins
      @CampbellsCoins  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's easy to see how it's not when one takes a snapshot of metals price at one small point in time. True, if one were to buy metals now, prices of items are rising faster than the price of metals. However, if you were buying gold and silver in 2019, you'd be up well over 30% by this time. Even with the recent price drops in metals. Another explanation is that the price of gold and silver lags behind inflation a bit, before taking off.

      No silver in this video because the topic is on gold BUT I think silver is a must have. Check out my other videos on silver to see my stance. Thanks for watching!

    I agree with your thinking Campbell's Coins! Stack the most important items FIRST, WATER, FOOD, PROTECTION, as with those 3 anything else is kinda useless, so then Gold & Silver, Junk Silver are in my order. Don't stop stacking any of these!!
