Preecha is a Nerd who Kicks Butt! - Hands On Fatal Fury CotW Character Gameplay Preview

- So I dedicated some of my time at the Summer Game Fest playing Fatal Fury City of the Wolves specifically to playing Preecha and learning what she is about! For a character that was announced at the start, almost nothing is known about her and I intend to change that! Joe Higashi's student yes, but she isn't a joe replacement, she's very much her own character and very interesting so lets dig in with this gameplay preview!

Alright so Preecha has been known about since the announcement but there's actually almost no info about her out there. She's not terry or rock where we already know everything out of the gate, so lets change that why not. I spent a good chunk of my time at the summer game fest just trying to figure her out and what shes all about, and all in all I am pretty impressed! While similar to joe in terms of flavour, shes very much her own character and well... watch the vid and find out! Lots of cool stuff about her

"Shes not Ken Master." Well well well now that these characters are all but confirmed to be in the same universe lore wise, we can make these comparisons.
SNK really tapped into a fountain yet untapped with Preecha. Normally you get like the shy nerdy girl when it comes to fighting games, but I can't think of any energetic nerdy girl rn other than Preecha.
I love Preecha's motivations and how they reflect the scientific side of martial arts. Martial arts is a science so its a breath of fresh air to see a character that instead of fighting to get stronger, fights to learn what makes martial arts tick. I also love how her animations are basically treating her fights as scientific method.
I will always main the Muay Thai character in any fighting game, glad she looks so fun.
When Roofle said Preecha was Velma if she were a fighting game character Preecha finally clicked with me.

Watching her light blue and green color pallets fight each other is like watching a couple of Easter eggs go at it. I guess she practices ... Muay Dye.
Nerds are so in right now
Subtle animations like Preecha pushing her glasses back up are one of the things that sell me on a character. I remember not being convinced by Remy in SF3 until I saw that during his crouching animation he brushes his hair out of his face.
