- So here we are with the final Character Preview for Fatal Fury City of the Wolves and that is for the mysterious Vox Reaper, who is the student of Grant from Mark of the Wolves. Utilizing "Dark Karate" Vox is basically just a big bully, no fireballs, no full screen presence, he just gets in your face and smashes you to bits. So learn all about Vox in this upcoming release!

Alrighty the completion of the Trilogy is here! We did Preecha, then Marco, now enter Vox Reaper! Vox is our bad boy newcomer for Fatal Fury City of the Wolves, and the disciple of Grant from Mark of the Wolves. He's basically a big brawler type character, big normals, good neutral, command grab, but can't do a dang thing from further away. As with the other characters I overall only had a limited time so I can't give you the sickest combos in the world or anything like that, but hopefully this gives you a solid understanding of the character. So give a watch, learn a bit, and enjoy!
dark karate has to be one of the most fighting game things imaginable. guy looks pretty fun
The second i seen him in one of the newer trailers i was locked in on who he was and what he was about finding out that he’s a student if grannies things far more interesting i feel as if he’s gonna be one of my new mains but i still can’t fully determine that just yet
Um actually, Im a 5th degree Greybelt in Dark Karate and I can confirm that this is not real Dark Karate. Dark Karate ki can only be channeled via the Azure Gate which would make the aura blasts clear or blue not purple.
As a Gato main, I can already tell it's gonna be a Close range slug fest against this guy. Vox turned out to be a pretty legit successor to Grant in gameplay whilst having his own identity.

Seemed a mix of 03 Ash with Gato to me.
Decent recreation of Grant's moveset. They really should have let him wear the broken mask the whole time though.

And thats the last of my Summer Game Fest footage. Besides the Fatal Fury and M. Bison stuff all I did was play Marvel Rivals a bit, which was admittedly very fun, doubly so cause I overheard the devs saying esports is something they couldn't care less about, they just want to focus on fun which is a damn sight better than overwatch. That and Sega. I asked papa sega very nicely for Virtua Fighter, and instead they offered Monkey Ball. So we will have to wait for later in the year for that lol.

@@GenderNeutch I had to miss the re-launch cause covering SF6 season 2 was more important for the channel. As it stands now I still got lots of other stuff on the docket so unfortunately I dont really know where to fit in multiversus right now

I was thinking Grant looks like he would listen to Shadow the Hedgehog music, and then when he does the "anime pass by you motion" at around 6:50, I was, like, "Shit, he is Shadow the Hedgehog." He even threw his hand to the side like Shadow does when using Chaos Spear in the SA2B versus mode.
Edit: I can't help but think of early Guilty Gear dialof between Sol and I-No whenever you play that clip of Vox Reaper going, "Ah, shit!"
An up close and personal fighter like Grant was, this should be good
Great video. I’m loving the personality this game is giving to the characters. Vox’s whiff is brilliant and I love Preecha shaking off her hands when there on fire. Reminds me of the old Capcom classic unique interactions between particular characters.

well going by the story blurb, kain was his target originally for whatever reason, but now he's def working for him. Specifically I guess his job is keeping an eye on rock? you can see the win quote at the very end of the vid

This is kinda specific but his white, black and gold outfit was by itself the thing that pushed me over into wanting to try him
A while back I looked at my repertoire of fighting game mains and realized that, across all the fighting games I play, somehow none of the my favorite or most used characters have projectiles. Dunno how that happened, but I guess it means I have to pick up Vox since you had me at "has no projectile, but has big hits."
He's kinda reverse Terry Bogard in a way, since he probably joins the tournament to ger revenge at Terry for Grant's death just like Terry went to face Geese for his fathers death.
So far, Vox is the character I am looking forward to the most. ♥

Ngl, this game looks good. The colors pop, the art style is amazing, the speed is good, the mechanics look fun. With Terry and Mai coming to SF6, I could see a character like Laura Matsuda from SFV being a good guest character in this game. She has command dashes, a projectile, and command grabs. And then, in 2026, we get a new CvS game( and then I woke up)
Yeah the art style is good, but the graphics could be better. Looks good overall tho
Laura in this game would be sick! But I feel they'd most likely bring a better known character. Considering it's the successor to Garou, to be thematically consistent it should be one of the 3S newcomers, like Makoto, Yun, Dudley, or Q. But the reality is they'll probably bring Ken or Akuma
I'm not even a legacy SNK fan and already I'm hyped for more characters that'll be in CotW than I was for SF6 or Tekken 8 after seeing the entire roster. I hope they'll keep it coming, love the style of the game and the personality of the characters. Good stuff

Dark Karate is pretty dope, and Extreme Karate is too, but nothing comes close to the awesomeness that is Space Karate!

I kinda like him. He's got a pleasingly retro style, wish he was a little big bigger like a Yashiro but I'll def try him out

Vox is SNK Ed from Street Fighter 6. Color pallete is the same with the green and red, but thats fine with me. Grant was my main back innthe MOTW days. (I Love Mid-Bosses along with Yamazaki). So this along with Marco will definitely get my money when this game comes out.
I honestly believe Vox will be Rock’s rival cause when you think about it, they are foils of each other.
If your fighting style has purple stuff, it kills you. Unless, you are Iori. SNK lore lol

I haven't really "given up on it" its just a matter of i only have so many hours in a day to work on stuff, and things kinda shuffle in, and shuffle out. There's not much to talk about on the GBVS front and when there is, there's usually something else going on

Like this character already. Would be nice if developers added some team fight mode, where you can chose characters like in KOF, or some sort of tag team so you could play several characters a time =)

So what's the idea of him making the other characters purple when he hits them with a special move? Like he leaves them burning with a purple glow and some flame effects coming off. Is it just a visual? Because the other characters don't seem to have a similar effect on their targets when they hit them with a special move.

I love that they are adding more student characters this time but they should’ve kept the Kaphwan brothers and Gato
still plenty more characters to be revealed. Gato is basically already soft confirmed, and unfortunately im sure we will be plagued by kims kids again

I play guilty gear and I'm super stoked to try the new fatal fury. I wonder who in the cotw cast would be closest to Slayer from guilty gear? Vox seems like he may be my guy.

As a Jamie main in SF6 I think Vox should be my main, I found the two somewhat similar in gameplay. And Hotaru too, simply because I love her design. I also thought Hotaru would have her video in this series, hasn't she been playable in a real game in like 20 years?
Vox and Preecha look like they're from totally different games and look jarring next to each other here. It's really odd.

Garou would certainly be the closest, and KoF 15 also a bunch of the mechanics. Or I guess if you wanna get a bit more out there you can rock some K-groove in capcom vs snk2 lol

theres lots of weird vibes. So purple cause of Dark Karate sure. Kain uses an offshoot so his stuff purple, why not. Rock stuff purple cause of "geese's blood", while geese's own stuff is blue.

Grant 2 is a more traditional SNK character from the NEST era.
I love him to bits a lot of the mainline newcomers have been cringe. Where Grant felt like geese and ryo mixed, vox seems to be Robert and K'.
Meh, I'll pay attention if they bring back characters from the old school era.
Sokaku, Hon Fu, Rick Strowd at least Kaphwan or his sons or maybe introduce a daughter.
RB2 and MotW were 2 games I played to death. I miss the linesway system but get why it was removed.

Has it been confirmed 100% that Grant is dead? Cause Jenet's bio indirectly states he's still alive.
vox's bio says hes fulfilling grants dying wish. Normally living people dont get to make dying wishes
