hardest thing for mamamoo fandom is choosing a bias. As all members are so unique and talented.
Easy solution, don't do the standard fanboy thing, _don't_ bias one, love them all equally! Like Hwasa has said more than once, if you can't follow a(n) (impossible) standard, set a new one for yourself!
The MAMAMOO members are among some of the most-credited idols in K-Pop as of Jan 2025
- Moonbyul actually has the most songwriting credits of all 3rd generation female idols at 123(2nd most credited famale artist overall... Yoon Mirae at 141), since she writes her own raps(and more) in almost all of the group’s songs. As well as contributing to the songwriting in many of them as well.
- Solar has 46 credits as a songwriter and 24 credits as a composer. She wrote the lyrics and composition for her solo song, “Spit it Out”. Composer on "Honey".
- Hwasa has 50 credits. The lyrics to her solo song, “María”, were praised for its inventive and meaningful wordplay. ("Somebody" w/Loco).
- Wheein has 11 credits (that I can find, maybe more).
COULD use an Update as they have all released new/more music in 2025.
- I'm sure they ALL have more, but I'm having trouble finding the info... if anyone can give me an UPDATE (TY).
Great comments throughout the video. This video essay is an excellent intro to the group and the members and I think it helps you appreciate their music even more when you know something about their journey as people and artists.
Mamamoo has done lots of OST songs as a group and as soloists, esp Wheein, who received an award a couple years ago as one of the top 10 OST singers in Korea. Most OST songs are ballads but they've also done a number of OSTs in other genres. Solar even did a country song that sounds like it's straight outta Nashville.
There's a lot more to the 4 Season 4 Color project than nahiseokie was able to explain in this video. Besides releasing one album per season over the course of a single year with a season & color theme for each album, the 4 title tracks explored a stage of love in a four part relationship cycle that matched the season & color. Each member recorded a self-composed solo song on "her" album in the series. A good intro to the 4S4C project is the pre-release single Paint Me from the first album, which is the theme song for the series as well as one of MMM's main vocal masterpieces. Paint Me lays out the main season, color and relationship symbolism of the project and it has a deceptively simple MV that's worth rewatching for the almost hidden clues to what I think is the real subject of the song. 4 Season 4 Color is the most complex and ambitious project ever done by a girl group.
Btw, I have a slight disagreement with nahiseokie's statement that compared to the other members Solar is at the beginning of her solo career. Kpop dates someone's solo career from the first original song they promote and by that standard Solar was the last member to make her official solo debut in 2020 but that's extremely deceptive. Solar was the first member to release solo songs with MVs via the ongoing series of covers called Solar Gamsung she's been releasing since 2015. She was also the first member to release a solo album with a collection of Solar Gamsung songs in 2018, which she immediately followed with the first solo concerts by one of the members. Over the years she's made a number of high profile solo appearances on award shows, competition shows and festivals such as the 2019 KCON in Los Angeles, along with collabs and features with other artists. Imo dating Solar's solo career from the release of Spit It Out in 2020 might be official but it isn't really accurate. It doesn't tell the full story and the same could be said about the other members, who also had various side projects outside the group (including a #1 hit song) long before they made their "official" solo debut.
You can't really go wrong no matter which MMM song you choose next but since you said you liked the concert version of Paint Me and the 4S4C project is such a landmark in their career you might want to start there. You might want to compare the original recording with the concert version (aka the orchestra version) so I'll give you links to the MV and a concert video. MMM opened their 2019 4 Seasons F/W concerts with Paint Me followed by the first 4S4C title track Starry Night and this vid includes both, along with Eng subs when they talk to the audience. The vid was professionally filmed so the audio & visual quality are excellent and it was uploaded by a moomoo (MMM fan) so it's probably ok for reactions.

Great reaction. All 4 of them do OSTs for kdramas and as a group though more recently it has been solos. I have seen most of those kdramas as well, they are great shows. This video is a little behind, Solar has multiple solo albums now. This year will be more solos and OSTs, Solar is doing the Mata Hari musical again right now, Wheein just dropped Afterlife which is a kdrama OST. They will likely release more solos, Mamamoo+ also will add another album. In question is will we get an OT4 mamamoo album this year. Based on previous years 2025 should have an album but they always keep this stuff secret, we never know what and when they will release anything as a group or solos.

To answer your question about the members doing Kdrama OSTs, all 4 of them have done solo OSTs and even as a group. Thank you for the reaction! Its fun rewatching these videos with you. :) Do you plan on reacting to their group activities and solo work? I would love to see you do album reactions to their 4 season 4 colors project.
