  • well what a pain in the ass. these things are here and because we have not gotten rain much this year they do not get knocked off and drown. most of these things need to die before the rain.so its insecticide application for me.

Nice, I think you must equip one sprayer tractor with skinny tires for sprayer duty, reduce damage to crops and safe on a self propelled sprayer

pizza cutter tires I think do more harm than good except in corn... The extra compaction, or near soft areas cut right into the ground.

I hope you get a good yield. Farming is how the weather can wipe you out. I might be no rain or too much or hail storm. I see it as without farming, we starve. We all need to grow our own food and eat fresh food, and can the excess for winter. Not depending on stores.

I don't like running over beans either. When I spray I start and go the same way every pass!

You're right about short beans producing. 40+ years ago we had a Williams bean that was shorter but branched out. They took the weather so much better and put beans in the bin!

Soybean varieties vary greatly... i tend to grow taller beans on lighter ground to get the pods further off yhe ground, and the shorter bushier longer maturing beans on heavier ground; those shorter beans will outyield the taller varieties, except on a drieer year if those later matiring beans go dormant often them it becomes a pia 😅

Hopefully you have a bountiful rain to fill everything out. Hopefully your budget allows you to come down south and get a 6500 or 6700 under 20 grand to help you out with your in season spray for now. 2wd 60foot booms will get her done for cheap. Just don't know if she could climb your hills as well as the 7810. Good luck brother

I felt bad last fall because a neighbor to the horse stable i manage had a dozen market ready augus steers get lose. He hired four guys that roped and had dogs to get those steer out in the open which was in the beans. We headed them and drove them to the road though the beans, heeled them and dropped them in the road so we could load them on a trailer. The beans looked more parted then trampled. That was a fun day.

I seen a helicopter spraying a local farmers fields maybe 2 years ago. I have no idea if not driving over your crop would benefit the cost of what they would charge. I think that may have been the first time I ever seen that locally.
