I want to be a dentist since i got my teeth cleaned and 3 years later out of nowhere i wanted to be a endodontist now im on my 10th grade studying my butts off to get into med/dental school which is quite expensive thankfully my family is supportive about it knowing its hella expensive😂😂
Kinda impressed as you still remained energetic to work out at gym after working 😆 I'm exhausted everytime I finished work and just wanna head back home and have my dinner, shower n sleep very soon... My name is Chayse and I am a senior at a small private University I also play D2 for them. Ever since I was 3 years old and my mother took me to the dentist for the first time I have been interested in teeth, to the point that my Dentist had to keep asking me to step back because I was getting in the road. I was a Bio major my freshman year but because of my university's financial issues they cut the major so starting my sophomore year I had to switch to exercise Science as that is what they told me would be the closest to my current major and still very well accepted into graduate schools. I have a 2.9-3.0 cum gpa and hopefully will be 3.2 or higher after this last semester. I still have to take micro bio and organic chem as I can not fit it in my schedule this semester so after I graduate this May I will have to go back part time. I still need to take my Dat as well probably next spring. My goal is WVU dental school as its the closest to me. My parents support me as they know I truly want to do the work but are worried about me not getting in as I'm not the best standardized test taker as well as struggling in chemistry and high level math. So honestly do you think someone in my shoes has a chance of getting into Dental school or should I start looking into other careers? Thank you.
I’m a first year dental student and i can tell you Go for It! It is very possible and yeah i guess you can have alot of courses done as equivalence . good luck

It’s not her speciality i guess. Braces are executed by orthodontists which needs a 4 year study AFTER dental school

How long does it take to become dentist?
6 yrs
That depends on which country you are considering. Typically it take 5 yrs to become a dentist in India, Pakistan, etc. But if you want to be a dentist in US it is 6 yrs for a general dentist and more if you do residency
In my country it's 5 years but you need 2 years of residency totatl 7 years but if you want to be a surgeon then 4 years of residency total 9 years
@@DrSamthedentisthomie I'm a dental faculty at a US dental school, normally it takes 8 years to become a GP dentist in the US (4 years and a undergraduate degree, and then 4 year of dental school). There are a few programs that you can finish in 6 years, but that's the exception not the rule.
