Does anyone's dentist asked them if they want the extraction or not?

Well for people who are going to have braces , here are few things you shall know : 1. Yes extractions will hurt if you are not given anesthesia properly, so if when dentist is about to pull yo teeth , do not be afraid of asking for anaesthesia if you can still feel pain due to tools since it shouldn't hurt at all. So you won't feel hurt if proper anaesthesia is administered.the needle will hurt though. And after the anaesthesia wears of the extraction site will hurt like hell.....but pain medications help. The site will be healed within 4-7 days. But you still will have to be careful as it takes a month for the bone and tissue to form at the extraction site. Eat only soft foods. Also be careful about the blood clot because of the clot comes out you may have dry socket and if by any chance this happens, go to doctor immediately. 2. Braces will also hurt like crazy for the first week. Your teeth will literally hurt to bite on the softest food like pasta. After that your teeth will be settling and you won't feel as much pain. but ofcourse the wires will poke every now and then in your mouth. Also please be careful while wiping yoir face as you may press too hard on yoir lips , which can even tear them through braces wire and brackets....yes it's that dangerous. So be very careful. 3. Please please and please keep them clean at all times.brush twice. Morning and night. Especially around the braces brackets, use interdental brush and also floss atleast once every 3 days. Also please make sure to rince and remove food from teeth after every meal ( do not brush thay much otherwise your enamel will be gone and teeth will be black and sensitive) . 4. Keep dental wax handy to put it on poking wires and brackets , it helps . Important things before you get braces or teeth extraction: 1. Take multiple opinions. 2. Please go to TMJ specialist plus Mayo facial specialist and orthodontist with Msc degree. The TMJ specialist will first check your tempromandibular joint to see where the actual problem is.......mayofacial specialist will let you know how your face will change. And ofcourse orthodontist can give yoi the braces treatment. Make sure you get a treatment after visiting these three in order. Because you may face facial symmetry problems later or TMJ issues after braces if you directly go to just the orthodontist. They are not specialized in all round treatment. They can just align your teeth and focus on smile and not other areas. 3. If your face is already slim with small mouth please do not get extractions at any costs. Go for IPR or expanders to create space. ONE LAST AND THE MOST IMPORTANT ADVICE : JUST KNOW YOU WILL HAVE TO WEAR RETAINERS EVERYDAY FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. If you want your results to stay. Because if you do not wear them , teeth will start moving back. So consider all this. If you have difficulty with only a few teeth like 3-4 teeth , you should go for smile designing and not braces.

I've been the unfortunate victim of havingg braces before you dont even want to know the level of pain it inflicts the first few days to adjusting to it getting your mouth cut up by the wire to the dividers that go in your teeth this is another level of pain i dont want to even think about the sensitivity of your mouth and teeth with them is astonishing

Dear Dr. Kayla, I have a question: is ist possible to have tooth wear despite wearing a hard acrylic night guard for TMJ? My orthodontis says that thats impossible, but I feel like my teeth got shorter, even my friend asked me about it. I am wearing the guard on my bottom teeth and I am super worried about this.Thank you so mich already for your answer! 😊

m lost my molar and premolar tooth reasn of doctr miss guide n m worrid about this depressed also😭😭😭

Got 2 premolars extracted today. The first was ok but I don’t think the anaesthetic went in properly for the 2nd tooth as it was mildly painful and every time the dentist tried to inject some, I felt the cold liquid in my mouth so I’m assuming that the problem was that the anaesthetic didn’t go in properly.

I got to the dentist today in order to extract my premolar for braces they gave me anesthesia and suddenly I was not able to feel anything they used forceps and other things to pull my teeth and still three doctors were not able to properly extract it or even slightly move it suddenly I said enough and after seeing this I said I can't otherwise I am going to feel panic

This is a sore subject for me. I went to an orthodontist to correct an open bite that made it difficult to eat snd some crooked teeth but i still looked good and got lots of attention from women. He told me that i would need 4 teeth pulled to make the treatment work. I was concerned and asked if there was any other way. He said no. He assured me it would be fine, so i went ahead with it. The extractions were barbaric and the chick at the pharmacy to get my pain meds acted like i was a victim and told me her orthodontist doesn't believe in that. After 3 years a painful braces. He took them off. Over time people that i hadn't seen in awhile didnt recognize me and I couldn't get dates anymore. I slowly came to the realization that the idiot ruined my face. I also started severely biting my lips and tongue when eating, deep gashes and profuse bleeding, plus my teeth dont line up, so i have no real bite. I curse the mirror everyday and just want 5 minutes with, me, him and a baseball bat to sooth my years of suffering. I dont know how to fix this disaster. I dont really trust anyone to mess with my teeth again

do you advice ceramic brackets or clear aligners are better ? i cannot choose !
