I would love it if Bagpipe had such a strong Scottish accent that she can scarcely be understood. Like some real drunk old man at the pub shit. True Scottish representation.
You need to reference the Princes scene from Wreak it Ralph 2 so people know what you want. But yes this is what I want as well. And it isn't until you are actually in back county Scotland that you really get to experience this. Probably the most memorable thing about visiting Scotland outside of the castles was trying to make sense of what some distant relatives were saying, the mother of the house was talking in her most proper English to make it easier for us to understand, the father and son we had to work on trying to understand.
I'm honestly surprised by the number of people saying this, I can't help but hear Peppa Pig when I hear her EN voice but maybe that's just because I'm British (unfortunately 😔)
I hope that more of the EN voices would add the regional accents to the operators just like Irene. Like have Hellagur speaking with a Russian accent since he is from Ursus
Irene, Horn and phantom EN VA's are my personal favorites, irene's EN feels in character and with the added bonus of the accent which just adds more flavor, Horn's EN really hits a fine spot for me, the EN VA really nailed horn's bri'ish sounding in a good way. And lastly Phantom's EN just really nailed it, really dramatic and over exaggerated lines just like the japanese version. In general, EN voices are decently good with some being outstanding while some are pretty ok, in the end of the day it just comes of to whatever the person's preference is.
In japanese hes Katsura Kotaro which basically means, i cant take japanese phantom seriously, hes a comedy character in my ears, and a cannon cuck who was also will smith...whos also...a cuck So i swapped to jp and my god hes badass, Ben Cura is great
Honestly, after not knowing what my operators are saying for 2+ years, it's nice to finally understand them. My favorite? Probably Goldenglow. Every single time I hear "I've got this, I've got this, I can do this!" my heart melts.
Irene's VA, Lizzie Waterworth, did such a damn good job, it's the only character I switched voices to English and I keep listening to her audio recordings. Her accent is almost the same as my Greek social studies professor haha.
I don't remember the details but in the recent questionaire, they said they have given the more recent characters accented voices for their background and for us to rate our thoughts (Horn, Heidi, Lumen and Irene). That would be the reason for the differences in Heidi in that instead of replicating the vibe of the JP voices like Saileach or Kroos, they're going for a more accurate representation like with what you praised with Irene. To the detriment of the aforementioned ops and the likes of Blacknight, there is an inconsistency with some accents but I hope they stick with the change for the EN voices.
I hadn't thought about this but actually that's fair. Heidi EN isn't bad by any means but I just love the JP too much so my bias is showing i guess lol
I really love the EN Voices for Irene and Lumen exactly because they have regional accents instead of "different" British or American accents. I'm also happy that there's a good chance they will be moving in this direction because of the recent survey Arknights conducted that included regional accents.
I've got a good mix of EN and JP voices since they're definitely hit or miss. Mr Lee in English is one of my favorites and I love it. Gnosis in English makes me irrationally annoyed. Also everytime Kroos speaks I just go "bri'ish" subconsciously
I like Lee's english and if it wasnt for his VA being Gyro Zeppeli i wouldve swapped But its the opposite for Phantom, i swapped to english specifically because hes Katsura in japanese so i couldn't take any of his lines seriously without thinking about how he voiced Will Smith or is a cannon cuck, english is badass and doesnt make me think of netorare
For the most part, the EN voices have good direction. It's just that, for some of them, I didn't understand what their tone of voice meant until I listened to their EN version since foreign languages can be harder to get a feel for. Multiple times I was like "that doesn't sound like them at all!", then I check their JP voice and go "oh. Nevermind they do sound like that." The ones I remember off the top of my head were Melantha and Lava. While their tone of voice wasn't an exact match for their JP voices, the character concept was communicated well.
Honestly, the accents are my biggest complaint about the voice acting. That’s why I’m absolutely in love with EN Irene, her EN voice is actually way better and more in character (in my opinion). Judging by the Stultifera Navis questionnaire, they’re probably planning to add more accented voices, so Im looking forward to seeing what they have
Tbh, I didn’t think the translation wasn’t going to do much when I first heard about it. But it really did change these operator audio records. Every record now actually feels like a one-to-one conversation with the characters. With the Japanese dub, I always feel like there’s a sense of distance just because of the language barrier. But with English, goddamn do you feel the characters weight in their words. Horn just sounds like she did just spent months in the sewers, talked to originium slugs, and wrote on the walls just to keep her sane. I can actually hear and feel her spite in battle.
When the EN voices came out, I was skeptical at first. I thought it'd be one of those exaggerated EN dubs a lot of anime dubs get, but I was surprised to find out that it was the complete opposite. The VAs did a really good job at some of the operators for bringing out their character and personality. Also, I too will internally combust if Bagpipe doesnt get a Scottish accent xD Personal favorites are Kroos (alter included), Goldenglow, Irene, Texas, Saria, and Nearl (alter included)
I like using JP voices cause I don't understand and they just blend with background noise, I feel distracted when I can understand voices during gameplay But I do like listening to EN voices when I use them as an assistant
English language is my main one lol. TBH i stopped using JP voices wherever possible in games mainly because I feel like they all blend together in to one homogenous being. I know a ton of the vas and they became so iconic in previous roles and coupled with the fact that Japanese just doesn't have as much diversity in the way it sounds for me accent wise, they just start to feel like *insert famous jp character* v2.0. I love them in their seminal works and think they are some of the best in the business but there are SO many talented english VAs as well and more coming that I just enjoy hearing all the new voices and how they make the characters their own. Also I guess I just kinda wanna hear characters sound like their culture would have them sound instead of the japanese staples like Ara Ara girl or Tsundere xD. Oh and I agree 100 percent, Bagpipe must make me feel like she only eats Haggis xD
Good take, there are some JP VAs I'll love forever but it definitely does feel like deja vu sometimes. Easy to notice also when you see people refer to characters by "oh cool they're X character from Y anime" instead of on their own merit
I'm with you on this! It's always celebrity voice this, celebrity voice that. I want to hear fresh talent, new voices that haven't been heard yet! It's especially true for anime content as there is seldom a title that tries to introduce voices beyond the established Japanese cuteness formula
the same can be said about the English voice acting, the voice of Exusiai sounds like a female voice from some cheap children's cartoon from MTV or my little pony, completely artificial and soulless, not causing me personally any associations at all. You're right, the Japanese voice acting sounds like you've heard it somewhere before, but you hear the character of the song and the image is formed
I'm a simple man. My first six-star was Horn; and HOLY SHIT I FUCKIN' LOVED IT. Edit: There's also Kroos and, personally, Gavial, who comes in at second place for the EN voices I adore hearing (I'm still relatively new). Gavial's EN voice was a bit iffy for me, but I quickly grew to like it. Currently my assistant, though Horn still definitely takes the cake EN-wise as a whole.
I love Lumens en voice SOO MUCH! His accent makes him sound much more accurate, and it also sounds more caring? Like he sounds gentler thanks other voices. Same with Shalem whose en voice ages me shudder when I heard it. And some ops I keep in cn for the same reason because it sounds more like the characters, Lee and Lava for example are in cn
Irene’s en voice having regional accent is amazing, there is a line where she speaks a little bit of spanish and pronounces it wrong but honestly that’s nitpicking cause the accent is just so good and in my mind it’s just a better representation of what I would imagine Irene would truly sound like compared to jp voice
I have only Nearl and Irene in JP. They did a very smart move of not trying to reproduce the personality/troupe. Some can very well be 2 different characters. I do have complaints about their translation but voice acting wise they are amazing. Thou idk how valid my opinion is since En is my second language.
i think one smart thing they did with Irene(which i really like btw) is they toss all of tsundere aspect out of the acting and add in not-really-mature vibe to her is rather fitting coming after Sultivera Navis event. also i can't wait for Thorns EN voice. i just want some el donte meme here
I pulled Irene because of Rie Kugimiya, but when I heard her EN voice I just fell in love. The delivery on her ''in battle" lines is just beautiful and heart wrenching! "My heart will be the judge." had so much emotion in it and I honestly nearly cried just from listening to it once!
And that's why the ability to switch between character's languages seperately is amazing. If you prefer a certain voice for a character, just choose it and the rest is unaffected
if our lupo duo starts speaking Italian then there should be more character that speak their own language ... well i hope reallly have everyone speak their own native language would be soooo cool
i literally had this thought that what if the Ursus Operators spoke Russian (or have a Russian accent)? or if other Operators have accents or spoke the dialect of their region? its an interesting thought and it makes me want to have the voices for them. (it was a missed opportunity to make Kroos and Blacknight have Australian voices)
Horn. She was the first one I heard that made me immediately switch to her English VA. I've now started being open to changing others. It is nice knowing what they are actually saying in battle.
i think mlynar's my favorite out of the english voices! man's really worn out by life and anthony howell is tired as they come. respectfully, though, i can't vibe with the phantom love. while i agree that the passion is there, any trained theater actor and/or vocalist will agree that diction is key to performing on stage. my theater professors would have drawn and quartered me for that "for" in "sing for me" -- if i'm to believe that this is the performance of a performer from a fictional france in around the 19th century, why does he still have the 16th century colonial era "r"? is he doing shakespeare? then why doesn't the rest of his accent reflect that? with that r and the pre-shift vowels, he sounds not only american, but specifically like he's from the american south, around oklahoma or maybe texas. which would be great if phantom worked for rhine labs, i guess, but he's a traveling performer from the equivalent of mainland europe... it's not just jarring, it's completely inexplicable. even a bog standard british accent would make more sense. even a completely neutral american accent would make more sense. again, no shade, i realize the actor was in one of the earlier batches and may not have had the best direction... it's just baffling to me that the phantom of the opera sounds like a guy standing behind you in line at a kfc.
I was surprised Gavial's voice actress had a more noticeable accent when she talks normally than when she speaks as Gavial. I feel like her natural accent suits Gavial so much more.
IF FUCKING BAGPIPE DOESN'T HAVE A THICK, SCOTTISH ACCENT, THEY HAVE FAILED! Kroos. Kroos is good. I also kind of wish Neral's VA kind of just used her normal voice for her lines more. Felt better when I first heard her talk about her being hired to voice Neral.
THIS IS SUCH A GOOD POINT, sometimes people dont realize how corny fictional dialogue sounds like in a language you understand, i grew up with spanish dubs for example and the reason i like it is precisely because i grew up to get used to it, also british accent is hot fight me
When the EN voices first hit, they were all American accents, but then the first survey after that they included a question of what you didn’t like about the EN voices and one of the choices within was “lack of regional accents”, so I get the idea they’ve course corrected since.
They knocked it out of the park with Czerny, Ebenholz and Indra's dubs Also some dubs actually improve the characters, I can't stand how Irene sounds with the original japanese dub, but the english dub with the spanish accent makes her one of my favourite characters in the game. I really hope we get to see more regional accents in the future, like aussie Asbestos
I absolutely love Heidi JP and EN. It does sound just a tiny bit different but I don't care, I love Heidi as a whole; whether she's speaking in Japanese or English.
That's interesting, Kjera is another example of a JP voice I absolutely adore and can't bring myself to replace, and thinking about it their EN voices are kinda similar in how they differ from the JP. Maybe it really is just a British problem lol
@@toboruo i had the complete opposite reaction with jp kreja i was like her aras are nice but shes nothing special then when i heard her English dub i build her immediately maybe im just weak to british accents
The recent event, IL Siracusano, for the CN server actually added Italian dub for Texas and Lappland. When this event arrived for the global server, we too will be getting Italian dubbing for them.
It doesn’t get talked about enough that most of the VAs in this game who speak “normal” American accents…aren’t American. It was actually the same studio that handled XC, Bravely Default, FF games, etc. Also, there are a few notable Americans imitating British accents (ex. Khoi Dao, Felecia Angelle). So FWIW this was inherently a more challenging dub assignment than usual. I’m not sure why there were an unusually high number of VAs asked to voice a character with a different accent than their normal voice, and you can often clearly tell who’s faking what. But all things considered, I think it came out quite well considering the circumstances.
As an person that do not have EN as main leaguage is really pleasing hearing voices with accents in the game, wich is something that happens *a lot* in JP dub but on EN dub is very uncommon, Irene (but I can't get sick of the way that Ria kugimiya says 'waga', so I'm sticking with JP dub) , Horn and the Italian dub of the new siracusan operators are perfect additions to the game and I hope to see more. A problem that I find with EN dub sometimes is the quality of the sound and voices that do no have a "sonority" or "way" to talk, many times they really sound like just reading a script or trying to replicate something that does not fit.
I’m so glade that you brought up Irene has she’s my fav en dub. I mostly stick to the jp dub but there’s is a few good en voices with Irene but THE BEST en voice in the the entire game. I don’t think any other en voices has or will ever approach how much I love her voice.
I'm a big fan of English voices in arknights. Having such nice voicelines of your favorite characters where the accents are saved is what i truly need. AND ESPECIALLY Heidi's english voice is one of my favorite, while I absolutely unappreciate her japanese
I remember one of my original complaints just being the cadence of the voicelines, it doesn't feel like they had the permit to speak at will, they had to speak just enough so that their lines matched the others and that really threw me off, I think Kroos was a example of that if I am not mistaken
I prefer the English versions, but I was always a fan of English (or German) dubs if they're at least decent, because it's so much easier to follow along and connect, when you actually understand the person saying something, instead of reading a translation. Sure, some voice lines sound really nice originally but I just can't connect with it, since I'm just not understanding them ... Especially when they say something during a battle or something fast paced. So I really love these dubs. Some or amazing, some are ok. But I will always prefer them, no matter what.
Irene's voice is so great, I was a bit curious how it would sound and it didn't disappoint at all when I heard her in the onboard. Anyway, best EN is Justice, everybody knows it. But really, I think I'd have to go with either Horn, Nearl or Texas. I can't wait to hear more of them as they bring more operators into the EN fold. And yes if Bagpipe of all people doesn't get a Scottish accent I'll join your riot.
After initially disliking the EN voices the one that ended up changing my mind was Horn, VA did a fantastic job with it and it fits the character perfectly I think which made me a lot more trusting in other and future EN voices
0:53. I have said this before in conversations with friends. Not understanding the language covers up any cringe dialogue, poorly delivered dialogue or unnatural dialogue. It's much easier to hide bad voice acting in a language you don't know.
My favourite has to be SilverAsh. I'm surprised they managed to perfectly emulate his JP voice vibe into the EN version. It's literally as if one person switched languages.
Tbh, I keep them all on EN if possible, I haven't given the JP or CN ones much thought when playing, but the fact it's easier to keep track of who's saying what in English for me makes those a nicer choice
Personally, I think Arknights dubbed voices are (mostly) well above-average compared to the anime English dubbing industry. I'm well aware that Japanese voices tend to lean on the hyperbolic/exaggerated side, but I've seen far too many English dubs that face the opposite problem. Often times, it sounds like the actor is only reading the script and conveying the most basic one-dimensional emotions. Its difficult to describe, but these actors just aren't putting themselves into their characters shoes. I don't know if this is due to inexperience or lack of interest.
It trully was an odd day when the majority of the newly announced voice actors were Brits(Kroos especially for good reason),but now with Irene,Horn, and the Italian dubbing, the future is a great thing to behold. NOW DUB THE ANIMATED ENTERTAINMENT SERIES!
The JP- EN, CN, KR something that someone else mentioned with Drakengard 3. That can be applied to other things, that's sometimes it's the context is completely there especially without the director or creator there. So it gets lost in translation or transition being a reason why it sometimes doesn't match or mash with so and so characters. Now different accent yeah that's on the team.
Outside of Korean, I haven been using every voice pack so far because I like to use the language that the character origin use. Like I have CN regional on Ling, EN on Kazimierz and Columbia, CN for Yan, JP for Higashi and some customized voice for alot of characters. I really wish they have plan for sth like Russian for Bolivar and Ursus like for Siracusa Italian.
I was really excited back in the day, and I'm still really excited about the English translations for operators. I think it's amazing. I only wish they could maybe, just maybe make each line toggle if you wanted. so, I can choose which lines if there's a certain operator. Take for instance Kroos, I've been playing for so long and I started to miss my Koko-dayo!
Australian here. Every time a Rim Billitonian gets a British or American accented English VA it pushes me one step closer to declaring independence. Blacknight should be barely understandable to 90% of the world's English-speaking population as god intended.
Irene is still one of the best examples for a character where the en dub ended up being way better for the character than the jp voice. 6 months later I guess we can happily say that Irene heralded a lot more Accentknights. It seems a few trials gave them the confidence to embrace regional voices more. You may also note that asking for feedback about that is part of the player surveys they occasionally put out. And english players as a whole seem to rally around the notion of scottish bagpige, so I really hope they pull through on her :D
2:50 Exu's en voice is the same, her VA did her best but instead of a happy go lucky girl, she was instead voiced as harley or jinx which is gravely misdirected.
I actually have the languages of all victorian ones set to english if they're available. I actually am not that familiar with how varied accents can be within Europe XD the fact that saileach aounded more American just flew by me. But i like it nevertheless. In battle voice lines she does sound more emotional to me. I e2'd heidi and horn the day they dropped and have loved them so far. Phantom is good. Actually waiting for Scottish bagpipe lol
So far the only english voice I vetoed right away was Gavial. I love hearing more and more voices. And I was incredibly elated when Reed's english voice came out. Coincidentally filled with a desire to play Elden Ring again.
I like to match the operators's voice with their regions (although I keep using JP voice for all 3 stars because I'm used to it). However, only a few of Lungmen operators that I have right now have CN voice in global server so I have to stick with JP voice lmao.
Pretty late to the party but now 11 months later - Młynar EN VA is amazing ( I mean would expect that from Margott from Elden ring). Trend of having operators in EN have some kind of regional accent is more prominent and we got confirmation of Russian and German VO which makes me think we will get actual regional VO for each country (pog). Oh and also. Bagpipe still doesn't have EN VO.
i how they continue the trend they did with lapland and texas where they speak Italian with other places too. i dream of arknights sounding like tekken
I would love it if Bagpipe had such a strong Scottish accent that she can scarcely be understood. Like some real drunk old man at the pub shit. True Scottish representation.
meh i’d rather have it more like a drunk scottish cyclops with 1 eye who preferably has a job handling explosives
As an actual bagpipes player I do hope they actually give her a proper ol' scottish accent, as one should naturally want it to be.
You need to reference the Princes scene from Wreak it Ralph 2 so people know what you want.
But yes this is what I want as well.
And it isn't until you are actually in back county Scotland that you really get to experience this. Demoman from tf2
An accent so thick, you'd have to read subtitles anyway.
I absolutely love Irene's voice, wish they add more regional voices to the characters
There was a question in a recent survey that asked if we liked regional accents, so I hope they stick with it!
i oddly really like kroo's EN voice, its so calm and relaxing
That's part of the reasons I enjoy IS#2.
Dont lie, you just dont have any good snipers so you switched to her EN voice to avoid her "KOKODAYO~" voice line.
She's Peppa Pig with attitude.
I'm honestly surprised by the number of people saying this, I can't help but hear Peppa Pig when I hear her EN voice but maybe that's just because I'm British (unfortunately 😔)
I like how she turned the whole "Hiiii hiiii" thing in to her own quirky line
I hope that more of the EN voices would add the regional accents to the operators just like Irene. Like have Hellagur speaking with a Russian accent since he is from Ursus
We'll eventually get there. They've already added Italian voice-overs.
Russian Hellagur would be amazing, I hadn't even thought of that but sign me UP
Take the survey for this latest event, then. One of the questions was about giving more regional accents to operators.
I want zima with thick russian accent . . .
What about Schwarz
Irene, Horn and phantom EN VA's are my personal favorites, irene's EN feels in character and with the added bonus of the accent which just adds more flavor, Horn's EN really hits a fine spot for me, the EN VA really nailed horn's bri'ish sounding in a good way. So i swapped to jp and my god hes badass, Ben Cura is great
I love Kjera in EN voice. One of my favorite characters just because of that.
Cultured
hell yeah brother
I came from the future.
Bagpipe got her Scottish accent.
Rejoice, my fellow rock farmers
*ROCK AND STONE!*
Honestly, after not knowing what my operators are saying for 2+ years, it's nice to finally understand them. My favorite? Probably Goldenglow. Every single time I hear "I've got this, I've got this, I can do this!" my heart melts.
Goldenglow melts my heart whenever she does anything she's so adorable I will protec

You interrupted my train of thought.. doctor.

I actually really like Gnosis' EN voice haha I love how everyone has such wildly different opinions on this
I was forever sold on the EN voices when I had this interaction once:
SilverAsh: "The fool flaunting his gallantry-"
Texas: "Shut up."
For the most part, the EN voices have good direction. It's just that, for some of them, I didn't understand what their tone of voice meant until I listened to their EN version since foreign languages can be harder to get a feel for. stainless: FIGHT FOR LONDINIUM! VICTORY TO LONDINIERS !
*BIG FUCKIN BRITISH FLAG IN THE BACKGROUND*

Speaking of which, Phantoms EN: "Sing for me, sing for me!" makes me wet.
In a good way.
My personal Phantom EN fave is "Do you see your own face in the mirror?"
Deploy Anti Horni spray
I'm hoping Passenger's "Now punish these people" and "Begone with no trace" will do the same for me lol
Honestly, the accents are my biggest complaint about the voice acting. That’s why I’m absolutely in love with EN Irene, her EN voice is actually way better and more in character (in my opinion). I bet he's really happy about the newest EN voices with Ebenholz's banner.
When the EN voices came out, I was skeptical at first. I thought it'd be one of those exaggerated EN dubs a lot of anime dubs get, but I was surprised to find out that it was the complete opposite. Now all they need is an Operator based on the Loch Ness Monster.
Irene's english voice is amazing, the accent is really just~chef's kiss~
Who's here after Bagpipe's EN lines came out???
Czerny's voice is so goddamn Teutonic it makes me proud to be German.
I'm a simple man. My first six-star was Horn; and HOLY SHIT I FUCKIN' LOVED IT.

Mate wake up. Scottish Bagpipe is real now.
Have all set to english currently. Personal favorites are horn, irene, and phantom.

Bagpipe: Oy, Doctor! What a bloodie mess we ave ere, eh!
Somehow I can hear Gloria's voice in that sentence.
I REALLY like kroos EN voice, its so calm and fun at the same time
IN SCOTTISH BAGPIPE WE BELIEVE
Lapplands Italian accent is pleasant to my ears
I have only Nearl and Irene in JP. They did a very smart move of not trying to reproduce the personality/troupe. Some can very well be 2 different characters. I do have complaints about their translation but voice acting wise they are amazing. Thou idk how valid my opinion is since En is my second language.
It's valid. You don't really need someone to validate your opinions. They're yours.
I think the best EN voice nominee would be Phantom, lee, and Horn.
Their voice and personality is just Chefs Kiss ❤️👌
i think one smart thing they did with Irene(which i really like btw) is they toss all of tsundere aspect out of the acting and add in not-really-mature vibe to her is rather fitting coming after Sultivera Navis event.
also i can't wait for Thorns EN voice. i just want some el donte meme here
Lappland is my girl and with her Italian accent it's just MMMMMM Perfecto
I pulled Irene because of Rie Kugimiya, but when I heard her EN voice I just fell in love. The delivery on her ''in battle" lines is just beautiful and heart wrenching! "My heart will be the judge." had so much emotion in it and I honestly nearly cried just from listening to it once!
As a purveyor of both dubs and subs! It feels nice to see some love towards dubs! Keep up the good work!
And that's why the ability to switch between character's languages seperately is amazing. If you prefer a certain voice for a character, just choose it and the rest is unaffected
We really need a Scottish bagpipe
if our lupo duo starts speaking Italian then there should be more character that speak their own language ... well i hope
reallly have everyone speak their own native language would be soooo cool
the italian VAs are the best thing arknights has ever done i'm so happy they're going this direction
Polish va for kazimierz ops when
@@matizpl9249 counter question when poland stronk? Tis the answer
i literally had this thought that what if the Ursus Operators spoke Russian (or have a Russian accent)? or if other Operators have accents or spoke the dialect of their region?
its an interesting thought and it makes me want to have the voices for them.
(it was a missed opportunity to make Kroos and Blacknight have Australian voices)
Like one of my friend doesnt like that particular song but if its dub japanese cover he like it instantly. Jesus christ.
1 year later, Bagpipe sound so Scottish no on can understand her and it's glorious
I want Shalem to read me bedtime stories
Horn got that voice too
I was surprised Gavial's voice actress had a more noticeable accent when she talks normally than when she speaks as Gavial.
Golden glow sounds kinda nice:
I got this, i got this, I can do this!
Sadly i dont own her for myself
THIS IS SUCH A GOOD POINT, sometimes people dont realize how corny fictional dialogue sounds like in a language you understand, i grew up with spanish dubs for example and the reason i like it is precisely because i grew up to get used to it, also british accent is hot fight me
Hoping for Bagpipe to sound incomprehensibly Doric but as long as she's Scottish ill live
When the EN voices first hit, they were all American accents, but then the first survey after that they included a question of what you didn’t like about the EN voices and one of the choices within was “lack of regional accents”, so I get the idea they’ve course corrected since.
1:26 Saria got me acting unwise...
They knocked it out of the park with Czerny, Ebenholz and Indra's dubs
Also some dubs actually improve the characters, I can't stand how Irene sounds with the original japanese dub, but the english dub with the spanish accent makes her one of my favourite characters in the game. I really hope we get to see more regional accents in the future, like aussie Asbestos
I honestly love Irene and Horns English voice acting. Enforcer and Texas have some pretty good English voices as well.
well, wouldn’t you know…
I absolutely love Heidi JP and EN.
@@darkomihajlovski3135 That's me to Horn. I feel like her JP voice is okay, but her EN voice though ... damn I immediately like that way more.👌
Imagine if we got NY Italian accent for Texas and Lappy
Lee's EN voice is so good, i sometimes change it between EN and JP depends on the mood
I agree. If bagpipe doesnt have a Scottish accent I will cry.
I love both Lee and Nearl's english VA. And hearing Irene's voice, I am disappointed I didn't get her on her banner
I really enjoy using the EN voices, I love how sometimes i’m hearing JP voicelines and the next second I hear EN.
Lee is definitely my favourite. His EN voice just... hits right Y'know?
My favourite has to be SilverAsh. I'm surprised they managed to perfectly emulate his JP voice vibe into the EN version. It's literally as if one person switched languages.
Tbh, I keep them all on EN if possible, I haven't given the JP or CN ones much thought when playing, but the fact it's easier to keep track of who's saying what in English for me makes those a nicer choice
We got Scottish Bagpipe 🥳
Im loving the Tobo youtuber arc
Personally, I think Arknights dubbed voices are (mostly) well above-average compared to the anime English dubbing industry. I'm well aware that Japanese voices tend to lean on the hyperbolic/exaggerated side, but I've seen far too many English dubs that face the opposite problem. Often times, it sounds like the actor is only reading the script and conveying the most basic one-dimensional emotions. Its difficult to describe, but these actors just aren't putting themselves into their characters shoes. I don't know if this is due to inexperience or lack of interest.
Super off topic but your voice is so nice I'm so close to making it my character's voice claim 🙀
The one that really sold me for english voice was Horn. It just has this commanding presence and power to it. The japanese one is nice too ofcourse!
I never knew how much I wanted a Scottish accent from bagpipe until you brought this to my attention.
I personally use voice base on the characters region if possible, if not I default to EN/JP.
My favorite going to be gummy because her cheerful personality is fitting with her tone of speaking
Bagpipe has to have a Scottish voice actor. OMG I didn't realize how much I wanted this.
WAIT? SARIA JUST GOT EN VA?!
