Although I'm bilingual, sometimes I do need help to write stuff. I'm Spanish, while I can speak the language and understand at the academic level I have to say that writing is not my forte. So to make it interesting I write in English what I want to say or describe something, chat gpt is really good at capturing what I really need to say, more like a native would speak. Now I do not have a problem writing in English but I fail at making something interesting, this is why it is such a useful tool, however I wonder if that would make me lazy... All in all it helps but sometimes it has the habit of talking in third person when I need to do it in first person. I use it a lot but also add things on my own. ❤️
Thank you Dr. Amina. ChatGPT on my case is a useful language tool. I can't imagine how powerful this language model is in translating from Swahili to English. I'm not good at English so in my previous writing I spent many hours trying to figure out which word to use. But now I just write in my Swahili, and ask GPT to translate it without altering the original context. It's relieved me a lot. I think going forward, this will remove language barrier. Its 50 times better than Google Translate. That's how I use it. It doesn't replace humanity. No. No.

I will load pdfs of papers and "chat" with them which is a great way to dig into the text, and have a back and forth conversation both with and about the text. Also, a well crafted gpt persona in your custom instructions is essential.

I was arguing in another group on the fallacy that AI models can plagiarize and cheat or aid plagiarization and cheating, and here you are say ChatGPT citations are fake. Please expand on this? This is a tough one - yes and no. If you're only inputting your OWN work/words and you use it to enhance slightly, then you work on it again, then I would say no. But if you are asking it to paraphrase and then you just copy and paste it, I would say it is borderline plagiarism.

I do. I use it for brainstorming and holy cow, GBT really opens my mind because it shows me something I might not have thought about.
