Very interesting, but, as a retired academic, I am surprised that medical schools still require students to write essays. Most medical schools in my experience just use multiple choice questions, don't they? Though personally I think essays should be used. Much better for honing judgemental and presentational skills, in my view.
I think what will happen is that some law will be passed where only teachers and educational professionals can access chat gpt and utilise it in learning
Then a million other software developers will come out with another free AI tool exactly the same as chat gpt to replace it. What you said will never happen.
The problem is AI-generated ESSAYS aren't always that accurate and AI-detection software can pick up whether your academic essay is written by you or by AI.

Hi Alex can i please send you an email I need help with how to write my introduction for my essay the essay question is Describe and explain relevant evidence related to social constructions of childhood and youth and psychological models of how children and young people’s thinking develops to evaluate the view that from age 6 children have the ability to make decisions about how to vote. Thanks Lauren by the way I am dyslexic
@@darlamckinnon4546 This is what I put for my introduction The idea of allowing children the opportunity to vote has been around for generations, In Athens, for example, all the male population, regardless of age were allowed to vote. On the other hand, it was not until the early 20th century that most nations commenced to decrease the polling age to 21. In contrast it was not until the 1970s that certain states such as Canada and Australia, minimized their voting age to 18. There are a number of disagreements in respect to presenting children with an opportunity to vote. One of the arguments is that children are residents of their country just as adults are, therefore, children should have a discussion in how their country is driven. Another argument is that children are more likely to be briefed about political affairs compared to adults, because children are more likely to be unmasked to stories and ongoing occurrences in school. Finally, some people argue that providing children with the right to vote would help to educate them about democracy and national commitment. A number of investigations have been conducted on this subject and the outcome is mixed. Some research that had been constructed showed that children as young as 6 or 7 years old are able to understand the fundamental theories of voting, such as two differences between applicants and casting a vote, However other research that had been found showed that children below the age of 12 and 13 are not yet able to recognise the steps that are involved in voting including the economic and social consequences of various policies. Knowing how to use AI effectively for writing papers is NOT the same thing as knowing how to write papers YOURSELF! As a college professor, I want students to do their OWN thinking and writing, NOT to let AI do it for them. If I knew how to use AI, I might challenge AI to convince me that students using AI to write papers is a good idea FROM THE PROFESSOR'S perspective.
*The following text was written solely by ChatGPT:* Title: Embracing AI in Academic Writing: A Pedagogical Revolution Introduction: Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed colleagues, I stand before you today to advocate for a transformative shift in our approach to education - the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in the process of academic paper writing. As we navigate the ever-evolving landscape of higher education, it is essential to adapt and leverage modern technologies to enhance learning outcomes. In this essay, I will present a compelling case for why we, as college professors, should consider allowing students to utilize AI for paper writing. 1. Empowering Student Learning: AI-powered writing tools can serve as valuable supplements to traditional pedagogical methods. By using AI, students can receive real-time feedback on grammar, style, and coherence, empowering them to improve their writing skills progressively. This not only enhances their academic performance but also equips them with essential communication skills that are vital in today's world. 2. Enhancing Efficiency: As educators, we understand the challenges of grading a large number of papers. AI can significantly reduce the burden by assisting in preliminary assessments, such as identifying plagiarism, grading grammar, and providing suggestions for improvements. This allows us to focus on providing more personalized and insightful feedback to our students. 3. Encouraging Critical Thinking: Contrary to concerns that AI may promote laziness, it can, in fact, stimulate critical thinking. When students use AI tools, they have more time to delve deeper into research, analysis, and interpretation of data. It encourages them to think critically about the content they are producing, as they are freed from some of the mechanical aspects of writing. 4. Promoting Inclusivity: AI can level the playing field for students with diverse linguistic backgrounds and learning abilities. It provides additional support to non-native English speakers, those with learning disabilities, or students who may face challenges in expressing their ideas through conventional writing. By embracing AI, we foster inclusivity and ensure that all students have an equal opportunity to succeed. 5. Preparing for the Future: In today's digital age, AI is becoming increasingly integral to various professions. Exposing students to AI tools early in their academic journey equips them with skills that are relevant in the job market. This prepares them for a future where AI-assisted writing is the norm in many industries. Conclusion: In conclusion, the integration of AI in academic paper writing offers numerous advantages. It empowers students, lightens the grading load on educators, fosters critical thinking, promotes inclusivity, and prepares students for the future job market. As college professors, we have a responsibility to adapt our teaching methods to the evolving needs of our students and society. Embracing AI in education is a step towards achieving that goal. Let us consider the potential benefits it holds and work together to explore its full potential as a powerful tool in our educational arsenal.

Hopefully this´ll stop the useless essay writing and force universities to invest more time teaching students the software they´ll need as well as networking, social media presence and more emphasis on craft. It can only assist with what you ask it. I consider as an assistant to outline and provide insight. Mostly to assist with proper grammar.
As long as the ideas are yours truly and AI is a writing aid of sorts, i think it’s perfectly acceptable for student use.

Well instead of assigning 30 essays per semester you should assign only 10 or so so that the students actually have time to use their skills 😂

Because you just treat universities as vocational schools. But unfortunately that’s a trend nowadays.
