@@phoenixblaze5491 Because they are garbage. EVERY commander game with a shitstain on life artifact player goes like this. It is NOT okay in a multiplayer game to hog the entire game time. 57 Minutes out of the 72 minutes of the game go to CGB's garbage artifact deck. That IS shit game design!
What we learned this game: if you bully a player with your group hug deck by giving them no cards, they might make you edit an hour-long triple turn where they completely turn the game around and defeat you.
I'm sure the vibe was different in the room during the recording but I enjoyed every minute of this. I know CGB doesn't have many friends in front of the camera, but it was soul crushing watching the life get slowly drained from his body to the point where he had one point of health left, and what did he do after that? He just perfected cold fusion. Just straight up speedran an a PhD in nuclear physics to kill his friends with, including Brent, who up until that point had been the most menacing man on camera in the 33 or so episodes of this show I've watched thus far. Congrats CBG! I dunno if anybody else did, but I sure enjoyed your final 3 turns of the game.
Since the episode elder dragon hijinks #4 using the monoblack Sidisi "counsterspell" I realized CGB's is a genius, but in this game he surpassed himself. And that, my friends, is the definition of a Magic: The Gathering Masterclass. CGB remained resilient and focused on its own game, while helping others with its triggers and skills. Without a doubt the best MTG player among content producers. Absolutely sensational. 👏👏👏 "I've seen what is it like about 900 million possible outcomes where I lose this game and 1 where we pull it off..."
Production quality improved again. You are a wiz kid and hidden screen talent. Very good job. Brent for the win, oops he killed the snake lady first and let brainiac maniac go off lol.
Brent, you had to edit this as well? Yikes, I feel bad you had to experience CGB’s final turns live, and then again in the editing process. I think it’s safe to say Blake was the true winner in all of this.

Dang that was a long one for everyone. That was an epic win for cgb, he went from one life and one card in hand to getting alot and winning. Now that was a loooooooooong win
My friends would have phased me out of the game had I took an hour for 1 turn(3 turns). Still very cool, loved seeing more artifacts in action and all the hugs!
The last few months were exhaustive for me, final exams one after the other (I still took my little breaks to watch the other episodes) now, I can finally watch this masterpiece at peace
CGB playing the Hijinks deck. WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Hate Izzet (no idea why), and don't like marvel at all, but loved that deck. It was super fun to watch.
I think there was a missed trigger from Gitaxian Puppeteer earlier in the game. This missed trigger would’ve ended up being enough to kill CGB later on
I'm actually really impressed CGB was able to track all the stuff he was doing on that turn. I'd get so lost, and my thoughts so derailed I'd have to start over multiple times (Maybe the magic of Brent's Editing?)
The problem with this show is: I really like this playgroup. I don’t want anyone to miss. BUT: I like that editor too, such a great substitute! And “worst case”: Gina. That’s a real dilemma, because you never get to see everyone you like to see :D anyways, how great it is to be always fine with the cast. Keep it up you guys, you’re fantastic.
When he played portal to phyrexia did he say at the beginning of each upkeep?, the card says at the beginning of your upkeep you put target creature from any graveyard onto the field
OMG. Those last turns were brutal... Could see everyone defeated (Shea for the second time now) even before CGB's combat phase begun xD It looked like this: CGB: Ok, I might be at 1 HP but let me show you how I am going to kill you now... Just give me... an hour Everyone: Do we get a turn? CGB: No, sorry :P Just watch
to further explain what @spencerss4908 correctly pointed out.. he made a copy of gonti, and it legend ruled, he sent the original to the graveyard then activated and exiled the copy.. also when he recast the gonti's heart, im pretty sure he had mirror works on the battlefield, so he could have copied it and legend ruled it again (he may not have had the mana to do that though)
Usually when a game gets like that in the end we look at our next card to save a game of solitaire playing out… Love the show and the main attraction getting sad to avoid death to do his thing… again… rofl😅
CGB had an infinite turn combo that he could have used at 1:07:00. Mirrorworks + Portal to Phyrexia + Myr Retriever + Gonti's Aetherheart + Tony Stark + 2 copies Aether Refinery. Myr retriever was sacrificed, it got back Gonti's aetherheart, Aetherheart goes onto the board, duplicated by mirrorworks, legend ruled into the bin, use energy to activate the token copy. Next turn, Myr Retriever comes back, grabs the legend ruled Aetherheart, cast it, duplicate it, attack with Tony Stark, sack Myr Retriever, Activate token Aetherheart, repeat infinitely. Nature's claim blowing up the portal would have cut the loop though.
@@maxgraumann5151 Damn, you're right. I was trying to think of available sac outlets which were on his board. He would have had to come up with a method to properly sac the Myr retriever.
700.4. The term dies means “is put into a graveyard from the battlefield.” it doesnt have to be a creature to be sent to the graveyard from the battlefield, so yes, it would still trigger
