The explanation about using the pad of the fingers instead of side - 💡now I get it! 😀❤ I have capped at 330-350 with my forehand - can't wait to try it out 💪🏻
I wish I had this advice years ago. I have used a flat finger grip that I somehow picked up transitioning from Frisbees, probably just felt natural with the shallower depth. It makes for a motion that whips the hand to the side of the wrist instead of hinging in a more natural direction. I think my grip contributed to chronic pain on the outside edge of my wrist. So no forehands for now not even scramble flicks or upshots. When it's ready, I will try to retrain to a grip more like the one shown here or McBeth's. I might even try Raven's three finger. My scrambling has been terrible without it. I'm trying to consider it an All Backhand Challenge, but my UDisc just says I suck lol.
I am really sorry to hear about the pain and I wish I posted this information sooner! I hope that you can find some relief in the wrist maybe with some soft tissue work and then in time try to reintroduce it with this new grip style! Whenever you give it a shot let me know how it goes!!! I'm excited to hear how it works for you and hope it goes well.
I naturally learned to stack my middle finger on top of the index finger (pads to the rim) just like you showed but I've been dealing with joint pain in my index finger after a few throws (that stays even after disc golf and takes a while to recover). What do you or other players do to strengthen their fingers and make them able to sustain these types of throws. I have had to throw with more of a fan grip technique for power throws for months because it hurts to stack my fingers like you showed.
Maybe some form of athletic tape could help, the repetitive nature of disc golf can lead to finger injuries unfortunately no matter how good your technique is. I experience quite a bit myself actually on my middle finger mainly

That is awesome to hear and it sounds like you are right where I was before the switch! Let me know how it goes, I'd love to hear about it!
Love watching your vids...... the volume has been really, really low for the last bunch of vids. Can you fix this in post?

What do you think about the 1 finger grip? Anybody but marwede doing it out there?
I used 2 finger for mid and approach, 1 finger for everything else.
Gavin Babcock is the other noteable one that I know of! I think if you get the release and distance you want, go for it!
Wow you love me? And you don't even know me. Wow!! I love you too!😂😂😂😂😂
First comment 😅
