Actually, there are at least two episodes where the team defeated a robeast as individual lions. In the episode where Sven was mortally wounded, the remaining lions defeated the robeast by pushing it into the lava pit. The second time was when they fought duplicate Voltron that copied Voltron's abilities perfectly. They defeated it by spitting up into the lions (the fake Voltron was only programmed to fight Voltron). But yeah, every other time itwas "Lions can't handle it! Let's form Voltron!"

Anyone ever done a video, showing how hard it would be to have 5 pilots in voltron? I mean if the cockpits for each lion are in the lion-heads. Then the hands might be ok. But the legs would be like being in one of those rollercoasters where you're lifted to the side in turns, while flying in a circle. I mean think of it. A pilot in the foot of this thing with each step would be breaking all sorts of G's by having their footed-lion hinge at the knee and they'd be forced back and upside down. While the pilots of the hands would have blood loss and blackouts if the hands are left hanging at the sides for longer than 10 minutes, only to be swung around when punching or using the sword. The only one who'd be stable is the one in the black lion.
