The Real South Pass on the Oregon Trail Most People Do Not Visit (NOT on the Highway !)

- We go where most people do not even think of and show you some of the more obscure but interesting places to visit in the Old West. I still will shoot video of the great places of the Old West if we happen to be passing by them.
Traveling through the the Central Plains States was the focus for our Fall 2023 vacation. Thanks for coming along for the ride and adventures. This video series covers where we went and saw on each day.
These places range from minor monuments to national parks. These videos are also about what we felt and people we met. It not just about what we did but anything which happens during the day and the inevitable trouble we have as an open plan automotive trip plus feelings about items maybe missed due to lack of time to visit or closed for the day.
Great landscape!
It is a certainly a grand vista view. Although it is hard to capture on video how gentle sloped and good grazing it is compared to other mountain passes.

@@rogervanderveen7552 The Trails which passed through here: California Trail, Mormon Trail , Oregon Trail and the Pony Express plus later stagecoach lines. The Oregon Trail is most featured so it is what I used in TH-cam character limited title. But I think you mean pronunciation Or-E-gon vs Ori-gon,
Where is the Applegate trail in relation to this? I've seen the signs for it around Dallas and falls city.

@@Denusa My mistake, I thought it was Eastern Oregon. I see a lot of comments on how to pronounce Oregon. Us Oregonians pronounce it like organ, ( internal organ).
@@vincewilliams5219 Thanks for the reply. I was interested how native Oregon pronounce it. Now can anyone tell me how to pronounce "Havre" Montana correctly??

Yeah. Make sure you have enough water for you the dog and truck before you go out there
This is true but this is true for almost all rural areas if you plan to spend a few hours or more.. However, Atlantic City is less than five miles away and there a number of places to get water there.
Glad you able to find this place as the turnoff from the highway is not marked other than the name of the road.
@@Denusa I didn't come in on the highway. I knew the snake river was over there somewhere 🤣
@@Denusa I was pretty happy when I picked up the trail. I was running low on everything and really wanted a cheese burger 🤣
Its not Oregone...
I give up. sorry that is how i pronounce it and many words are pronounced differently by different people.
