    By far the best value in fishing/boating period! Invaluable when ice fishing!

    Thank you so much!! I just downloaded it Wednesday and struggled using it until this video. So happy you kept it simple and showed me the basic features I will use. Thanks again!

    Thank you for your video. I just downloaded the app and can't wait to put it to use this winter ice fishing. Contours and detail is much better than Michigan DNR lake maps.

    It's too bad the app isn't more accurate on lots of our smaller N MN lakes. It's surprising how poor the mapping is even on big popular lakes. It's a great inexpensive tool, but don't spend hrs at home plotting on a small lake, because when you get there you might find the topo isn't like Navi is saying. Nice vid on using it.

    Does this app have depth contour for every lake in USA? I used this app for a trial week and was disappointed because not all waterways in my state had depth contour…

      Make sure your app is updated to the latest version and your subscription is updated. Having good WiFi for uploading can be important as well...

    Is there a free option, and if so, what is the difference?

    I use this app, unfortunately it seems to be a few hundred feet off for me more often than not, at times it shows me on the road and I am on the lake or the other way around...

    How do i mark a hump and get to it on the ice.

    • @mattjohnsonoutdoors
      @mattjohnsonoutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can create a “Marker” on the app by putting the cursor over the spot and clicking on the box with the ? in it. Then add that Marker (which will essentially create a waypoint). Then when you get to the lake you’ll put your cursor over that Marker, hit the box with the ? in it again, and click on “Boat To” under the button options. It will create a line to that waypoint/Marker that you can follow

    How do i find weedbeds?

    • @mattjohnsonoutdoors
      @mattjohnsonoutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      These maps won’t necessarily show any weeds, but you can determine the best areas to look based off of the structure. Meaning, larger flats under 15 feet, especially 5-10 feet, can be good places to look. I also spend time in the fall looking for weeds for the ice season. Also, you can see weeds on your Vexilar or underwater camera as well. So sometimes it just comes down to ripping holes and paying attention to your electronics.

    You ever fish Buffalo? I’ve never had any luck with the eyes but the crappies grow like weeds out there. I can’t get away from those dumb things.

    • @mattjohnsonoutdoors
      @mattjohnsonoutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not often to be honest, I just happened to zoom in on that lake. I’ve fished it a few times, but I always have better success on Clearwater if I head that way...
