Seth, I greatly applaud your work and determination; you've done an incredible job! :) As an older dad, I am concerned about your and Stella's safety when using this. You really need to have some windows and ventilation. I hate to think what could happen if that door ever malfunctioned and the two of you could get trapped there. You also want to be aware of your surroundings while camping inside. Adding some large windows (egress) to allow you and Stella to escape if needed would be relatively easy. Don't forget to have smoke and carbon monoxide detectors installed also. I love what you've done; please don't take this as criticism; merely concerned for you and Stella. I know it's the Dad in me coming out, but I have to tell you this. :) I look forward to seeing more of your adventures on the road. Stay safe and abundantly blessed. :)
As a Mom of 3 adult children and I feel exactly the same way. We just want the best for you Seth. My question was and I'm sure you thought of this but didn't share about anchors to the bed of the truck. I also was wondering if insulation in the ceiling was going to be applied at a later date. I know money is not free flowing at this moment. 😉 I agree CO2 is a risk and windows would be a great safety measure. Also wondering about weather stripping around the door. Hopefully these tips help and hope you enjoy and get many great and safe travels with your new camper. I'm proud of your accomplishment.😊
For your first build, this is awesome. Please add windows, ventilation., and a rearview mirror camera so that you can see what's in the back of you. Also, get side mirrors that can extend out. Have a blast while traveling.
Bro this is awesome! Being a carpenters son I do want to make a couple suggestions, you might wanna add some weather stripping around your door so it doesn’t leak when it rains and such and also, as others have said you and Sella Bug need ventilation. Not saying these things throwing down on you at all I applaud ALL that you did here man!! Have safe travels and a great trip wherever you’re headed to next. Oh…and don’t forget to STAY SAUCY! 💯🫡

Totally love this and it's not too late to push it up or have a connective so you can go through your back window and inside the back... In the way back years in the seventies they made them that way they were vintage and beautiful.. but I think the trucks were built with the opening... You can remove your window and create a soft rubber entrance so you don't get cut and you could go in and out from the back to the front that would be awesome....
Looks good man! If I can make 2 suggestions.. add a battery bank inside and run wiring throw the roof. You can then throw a solar panel on the roof to keep it charged up. This will allow you to add a max air fan on the roof for ventilation. The power for the fan will come from the battery bank. If you want to xtra airflow, you can add a small window on the side to create a draft. Nice work!
A few questions and two suggestions. How is your camper secured, so it does not fly out of the bed of your truck when traveling at highway speeds? Where is your fire extinguisher and smoke/carbon monoxide detector going too be located? Why didn't you install a roof vent for ventilation? Condensation will be a factor without the roof vent or at least a side vent for good airflow. Also it was wisely suggested that you install a window for an emergency exit in case of that. This build is great. I will suggest putting trim on the outside of the door to help secure it better. Also you might want to add airbags for your suspension, that will help with the added weight.
You have to give the kid credit, it may not be Mar-a-lago, but he built it himself & for now it meets his needs of a simple life on wheels. He will outgrow that in time, but for now, enjoy it.
@@gingernotturno5365 Well I'm not worried about him, but it would be smart to cut a vent so not breathing carbon dioxide all night, and maybe a small window he could cover with a roll down black out blind.
Happy Belated 21st Birthday Seth!!!!! Been waiting for this all day! Thank goodness it's here. I'm glad you hit up Andrew, after his last build, there's no better resource. I think your camper is top notch for someone who's never built anything before. It's a good beginning. I would recommend sealing that door, it won't take much money. Before you put a heater in there, you need to install a window that can open (maybe one on the top half of the door? Something you can get some fresh air in for the heater.) I have a Camco Olympic Catalytic LP gas heater for my slide in truck camper and it's the absolute bomb! I have a 2003 GMC 1500 truck with a 2017 Cache Camper slide in that would fit a Toyota bed, I bet it would fit in yours as well, it has the over truck cab bed which gives me a bit more room that you have. But you only invested $2010 so far, I invested $6k in mine.
Seth, its fantastic to see kids like you getting out there and making this build! It was a big project and you did great! I agree with most everyone with ventilation and co testers from the exhaust of your pick up. I think a window would help, you could even use the piece you cut out from the wall as a step to get in or out easier! If you were to redo this, what are some things you might change? I’ve never built one of these, yours looked pretty good!

Happy Birthday and excellent job with camper. Agree with getting window and extended mirrors. Very happy for you and Stella. She looks very happy with your new tiny home.
Great build man. I definitely recommend the tips everyone is recommending plus I would add exterior trim to the corners of the outside of your house. I’ve worked with that type of siding before and it can warp after much exposure to the elements.
Good job for your skill level and age! Just one suggestion if you are going to live in it… you want to insulate the roof and use Lauan or floor underlayment (thin) to cover. Heat rises and you don’t want all your heat to escape. You might want to add insulation to the floor and walls inside your truck bed too (same reason). Habituate for humanity store will have small window. Thrift shop for curtains you can adjust to fit window. We all need so much light a day.
Lived in my camper for about a year. Strap, seatbelt, tape or a lip on all shelves. Having to pick up everything that fell when you’re moving isn’t fun.
Congratulations on your build can’t wait to see what you do after living in it cause that’s when you adjust things that you find out is necessary for SAFETY AND COMFORT!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉GOOD LUCK ON YOUR NEW ADVENTURE!!
Yay! You did awesome! I built a camera on the back of my 2006 Silverado. I will say this you were smart to keep it simple. It will make your journey less complicated. If you’re doing the 50 state trip, you will run into weather both hot and cold. How are you ventilate with the windows and how will you heat it? I’m sure you have some ideas, but I thought I would ask. Good job!
Bro, Seth, let me tell you bro when I started watching your channel a couple days ago, I was so interested in your story and everything about your story and how you started was just so great to me. I’m 14 but when I grow up, I wanna do the same thing as you thank you Seth.
Seth, bro... this is friggin' awesome dude. Despite the setbacks, you kept up the grind and consider it was your first time doing this kind of thing, big respect, man. What a sick little house. Have fun living in it and travelling around, man.
Awesome freaking Job Man! Just came across your channel, got a new subscriber right here! Looking forward to your future videos in your new tiny home 👊😎
Awesome job on the build Seth. If you were to do this in the future. Cardboard is your friend for cuts. If you use cardboard as templates for the insulation or even some of the walls and floors, it could help with cleaner cuts in the future. But good job for your first time!!
Dude. For never having built anything like this before, you did an amazing job. Two things you might consider. You insulated all the walls 👍. You might later decide to to the ceiling I know you wanted the extra height but I think your gonna lose a lot of heat in the winter if you don’t insulate it. Also, you probably need to put some kind of trim around the door. Anywhere you can see light through, air will pass through easily too. Congratulations on your new home on wheels 🎉. Now you can actually stand up👍 Looking forward to the upcoming adventures you and Stella will have in the future.
@@SaucySethheat rises, insulating the walls without the ceiling is completely ineffective. I’m not just trying to hate on you but as a builder this is not road worthy and is likely to come apart at highway speeds after a relatively short time. A complete safety hazard for anyone on the road behind you.
Yay! You did awesome! I built a camper on the back of my 2006 Silverado. I will say this you were smart to keep it simple. It will make your journey less complicated. Super impressive Seth! Especially for someone that doesn't have any sort of carpentry experience like you said. Looking forward to watching more of your travel videos!
Overall a great looking first build! I might suggest finding a way to bolt it to the mounting holes in the truck bed, similar to the way a traditional bed cover is. I personally worry about it trying to blow out at highway speeds. Yes, its heavy, but it is also large so catching air is possible too. I also agree wit h the others about adding Ventilation and at least 1 decently sized window and extended Mirrors. Also, be safe.. Get some mace, and a consider getting a conceal carry license and know the laws for each state you're going to. People out there CAN be great, but that doesn't mean they all are. Have fun and be safe! Also, the solar generators out there these days are awesome for heated blankets at night when needed.
put some trim around the outside door frame with sealant to avoid water, wind etc from getting in. Also if you paint the interior roof white it'll contrast well with the stain and brighten up the space. I can't wait for your first trip in it. Stella was so happy
Awesome job for your first build endeavor! I’m sure you’ll be tweaking it along the way. I read many good suggestions in other comments, but basically, everyone who has watched this is proud of you!❤ Stella looks so happy!💕🐾💕 Blessings to you both on your adventures!🌴☀️🙏🏼💕🐾💕
Great build for your 1st time. I'll add to the cimments of safety, because I kept waiting for the part where you add them. 😊 SAFETY, young man for you & beautiful Stella. Windows, vent, fire extinguisher, CO2 detector, etc. These are really important. Do you plan on finishing the roof & securing the camper? Again, this is great for your 1st one and it's good you pressed on to complete it. Andrew is a nice guy to provide info to you. Be safe out on those highways and cities.
We have an 03 stepside with ext cab, and I love my ranger! I've been wanting to do something like this for ours. For your first time build, you did great! 👏 You should be proud for sure! 🤜🤛 If I could offer some suggestions? Only constructive of course. . Create another hinged door on the other side of your bed and opposite side to access outside the tub of your camper to tie it down to the truck bed. You'd be surprised at what kind of air lift you can get from passing truckers and such. Protect your investment, your truck, and others including yourself. Add some edging and caulking around all the corners to protect from water damage. I think others already suggested other safety features. Most importantly.. have fun and be safe out there with your beautiful dog! 🐾 Oh, and I hope you had a very HAPPY birthday! 🎂 I bet your family are proud of you cuz as a mother of 3 grown children, I am proud of your accomplishments!
Awesome job Seth!!! Happy 21st Birthday! You should be very proud of yourself. My only concerns are: *Is everything somehow bolted to the truck bed? Otherwise driving; or in heavy or windy weather it could all slide off. *Can your roof support snow? *Is there enough ventilation for you and Stella if you use a heater in the winter? And finally… *You travel all over the country. Is your new home street legal in any State you plan on visiting?
Hey dude, keep up the good work, hopefully more builds to come, don't let anyone distract you away from doing what you love. You clearly have a passion for building. Happy Birthday also.
Hi Seth... I commend you for all you have done. What I would have done differently would be to extend the camper over the roof of your cab. Which would have been an incredible sleeping space for you and Stella and would have made so much more room down below to put in a makeshift kitchen and dining area like most small campers have. Like you, I traveled thousands of miles in my little Nissan Diesel 1982 Truck all over North America and Canada and my dog Koka. Keep the streams coming you are awesome!
I THINK YOUVE DONE A GREAT JOB WITH YOUR HOME!! ITS A VERY NICE LOOKING CAMPER TRAILER FOR YOU DOING IT A FEW DAYS INTO THE FINISHED JOB YOUVE DONE AN AWESOME JOB!!! CONGRATS TO YOU AND YOUR FRIEND!! A LITTLE SUN ROOF ON TOP ODDS AND ENDS MORE WHICH YOU WILL DO GREAT!! LITTLE HEATER INSIDE.
Awesome job on a first build! Lots of us would love to have your enthusiasm and drive. There are things you will see once you live in the camper for a while-I’ve seen lots of comments, but the smoke detector/ carbon monoxide detector and fire extinguisher are really good suggestions. Enjoy what you’ve built and add to it as you go. All the best from Canada
You did awesome man glad to see someone from a young generation have so much work ethic and determination your parents should be proud of you and one tip put some flext tape on the holes in the roof so no rain or moisture gets in but don’t stop what your doing follow your dreams
Nice job young man !! Also the suggestions from many of the comment sections were very thoughtful and showed concern and care. I appreciated reading the comments ❤❤
Hopefully the views from this video will help you secure the funds to do even more deluxe stuff with it! With heavy travel, it may not hold up as long as you think but who cares? You built this thing in under 2 weeks and put a lot of effort into it. Everything in life is a learning experience… when I was 21 I hit the road with $285 in my pocket and just started couch surfing, working, and exploring the west coast. Ended up in Cali, got sober (I partied super hard haha) lived in 10 different houses and by the time I came home at 22 I had more under my belt than any of my peers in terms of life lived and experience. I would have never gotten that without the risks. Just keep planning bigger. Would recommend tie-downs, installing small vents in the rear and fire/carbon monoxide but most people already did. And the more you explore in it the more you’ll realize what you like about the build and what you’d like to fix in the next one. Definitely explore some blueprints of camper builds for sure… but the best way to learn in life is through experience.
Seth, I'm super impressed with your first build. That takes a lot of focus. I spent 2 years alone renovating an old farm house with zero experience. My concern is that lots of water will get in the gaps on the outside. Also you need ventilation. Andrew Ryan learned the hard way about mold when his earlier build had it. Best of travels man. Glad I discovered your channel!
Nice job! I do agree with others when they say u need windows & ventilation! Where is ur micro/macro Woodstove, so u can keep u guys warm? Where r ur electrical outlet(s), so u can plug in a cookstove 2 cook with? What abt a toilet? I'm not sure what u do 4 work, but there are things u need 2 do 2 make it warmer & safer 4 both of u!!
Great job, especially since it is your first build and on that budget. Two things I may have tried to do differently. Made the door open outwards so I could add effective weatherstripping and put functional windows on either side for ventilation.
You did a good job for your 1st build. Don't forget to fasten that tiny house to your truck bed. Other wise it could blow off in the wind during your travels. Have safe travels
Not bad for a rookie. I agree with others in that you need some windows for ventilation and visibility. I think you'll like the insulation board you used. I used it in my pump house to protect the pipes from freezing and it worked even better than I thought it would. Stay safe on the road and drive carefully.
Buddy built a glorified Porto potty, also no window? Escape hatch? If that door ever got stuck and let's say a fire started you are fucked 😂 you were better off buying a bigger truck and getting an actual camper Also how is that kept in place? Whats holding that there? Hopes and dreams

When you stepped in it for the first time, the happiness on your face; that made me smile. I’m happy for you bro.
I appreciate that a lot bro! thank you for watching
I hope you put a window in it later.
😊
Keep on Pimpin your on the right path. Build a house next.🎉🎉🎉
Window - you can get one like a regular camper that you screw onto the exterior (don’t forget to put putty between wood and window frame).
AWESOME JOB SETH! CAN’T EVEN TELL THAT IT’S YOUR FIRST BUILD! TINY HOUSE NATION
That is awesome, and very kind of you to say, thank you!
@@SaucySethno problem Mr Seth
*You did amazing! And happy birthday beautiful* ❤️ 🎂
Hi Seth! Came here from Facebook. I can't wait to see the new build.
Thats Awesome Dude 🥰
Awesome job on the build Seth. If you were to do this in the future. Cardboard is your friend for cuts. If you use cardboard as templates for the insulation or even some of the walls and floors, it could help with cleaner cuts in the future. But good job for your first time!!
Thats such a great idea! I definitely will be doing that next time. thank you!!!
She's gorgeous Serh! The camper is nice too. Good good my man.
Now you can actually stand up👍
Looking forward to the upcoming adventures you and Stella will have in the future.
thank you for watching and giving me some advice! I will definitely consider it!!!!
@@SaucySethheat rises, insulating the walls without the ceiling is completely ineffective. I’m not just trying to hate on you but as a builder this is not road worthy and is likely to come apart at highway speeds after a relatively short time. A complete safety hazard for anyone on the road behind you.

Super impressive Seth! Especially for someone that doesn't have any sort of carpentry experience like you said. Looking forward to watching more of your travel videos!
I really appreciate that! I had so much fun building this camper! thank you for watching
Doing that next!!! thank you for watching
Great job! I love your ingenuity and enthusiasm! You and Stella be safe on your travels!
Awesome job man! 👏. Especially amazing since this is your first build ever. Looking forward to following your travel adventures through all 50 states.
Thank you so much! I cant wait to get back on the road.
Looks good. Speaking from experience I would add a ceiling fan with a rain cover. Spray some water on it to make sure it doesn't have any leaks.
Figured you might be adding some windows at least sometime . But that little build there looks rather good !!!
You should try to buy one of those old bus hatches or RV roof vents. Gonna get stuffy in there
Love it!! So happy for you both!
Nice work dude, cya out there on the road!🔥
much respect for watching other channels and encouraging them to get out there and live their dream!
Thank you man!
Oh, and I hope you had a very HAPPY birthday! 🎂 I bet your family are proud of you cuz as a mother of 3 grown children, I am proud of your accomplishments!
Awesome job Seth!!! Happy 21st Birthday! You should be very proud of yourself. My only concerns are:
*Is everything somehow bolted to the truck bed? Otherwise driving; or in heavy or windy weather it could all slide off.
*Can your roof support snow?
*Is there enough ventilation for you and Stella if you use a heater in the winter?
And finally…
*You travel all over the country. Is your new home street legal in any State you plan on visiting?
If it’s legal in his state it’s automatically legal in all states. As long as he’s just visiting.
Maybe thats ver 2.0🤔
I THINK YOUVE DONE A GREAT JOB WITH YOUR HOME!! ITS A VERY NICE LOOKING CAMPER TRAILER FOR YOU DOING IT A FEW DAYS INTO THE FINISHED JOB YOUVE DONE AN AWESOME JOB!!! CONGRATS TO YOU AND YOUR FRIEND!! A LITTLE SUN ROOF ON TOP ODDS AND ENDS MORE WHICH YOU WILL DO GREAT!! LITTLE HEATER INSIDE.
Looks great man! I would maybe add some ventilation. A ceiling fan and a window or two, but besides that I think it’s awesome!
It came out great! And most importantly Stella approves 😄
YES! Thank you for watching
Good job Seth
You did awesome man glad to see someone from a young generation have so much work ethic and determination your parents should be proud of you and one tip put some flext tape on the holes in the roof so no rain or moisture gets in but don’t stop what your doing follow your dreams
Dude, you should be so proud of yourself. That thing looks incredible! I bet you learned a ton doing all that. I know I learned a lot watching.
Nice job young man !! Also the suggestions from many of the comment sections were very thoughtful and showed concern and care. I appreciated reading the comments ❤❤
For a person who had no carpentry training. You did an awesome job. The camper looks great! Kudos to you. Have a safe journey in your travels. ❤❤❤❤
Ive been watching ever since you first started, and man you have made a lot of progress. I'm so happy for you, keep being saucy 🤟🏻
Saucy Seth the cook, dog whisperer, truck camper, and now carpenter. Is there anything this guy doesn’t do?😂
Great job!!! Add storage netting and hooks to maximize space. Maybe a fold down table
Make the door an outswing so you don’t lose space and harder to break in
I was scared of someone being able to close my tailgate, and with not having windows that would be bad
Make it a Dutch door.@SaucySeth
Or a sliding door
Nice job Seth!!! I'd put a small window in near your cooking space.
I was thinking the same thing@@michaellieblein452
This is awesome! You did a great job and I'm happy for you and Stella!!
Great job, young man, I love the video.
Passed it to my grandson.
God bless and protect you always 🙏
Looks great! Are you going to put insulation in the roof though?
im not sure yet! I'm considering it.
Looks great dude! How dod u tie the camper to the bed of the truck 🤔
Looks great.
Need a porch light out off the back & a canopy coming off the side, for that camp stop relaxation. Well done brotha
Awsome! But you need a red painted door on the red ranger for the final touch👌🏻
I turned 21 the 21st happy birthday bro!!
Being able to look at it and say I built that is the best joy you can have. very nice job young man.
Seth this is so impressive!!! Absolutely phenomenal job for your first build. Be safe on your travels and can’t wait to see more videos!
Not bad for a rookie. I agree with others in that you need some windows for ventilation and visibility. I think you'll like the insulation board you used. I used it in my pump house to protect the pipes from freezing and it worked even better than I thought it would. Stay safe on the road and drive carefully.
With no experience I think he did a fantastic job. I’d add a window for ventilation but given what he had to work with, 10/10!!
Buddy built a glorified Porto potty, also no window? Escape hatch? If that door ever got stuck and let's say a fire started you are fucked 😂 you were better off buying a bigger truck and getting an actual camper
Also how is that kept in place? Whats holding that there? Hopes and dreams
Dude he's 21 and he's still learning so offer him good advice and helpful suggestions also it's his first build and I'd say all considered very good build.
@@shanec9325some tweekers have nothing better to do than to criticize 😂
@@shanec9325 first build or not. There's a bit of common sense and simple research. These are valid concerns. One good gust of wind and thar thing will be laying along side the road.
I’m so glad you did this hopefully it’ll give you two a lot more room and comfort good to see ya smile bud 🙏❤️safe travels and can’t wait to see what 2025 brings
Excellent...but you need a skylight and a window.👍🏻
at least a skylight
This is amazing!! I do agree with others on small window and weather stripping for the door though. But overall phenomenal job!!
