Optimus Prime and Bumblebee: I accept the future Wheeljack: Aw scrap, I’m gonna die Sideswipe: Why do you sound like my brother? Grimlock: SHUT UP WALL!!!!!
After finding out about his fate here he proceeded to mess with time to hopefully change the future It ultimately failed in changing fate but did make a temporal clone of him that did admittedly take a few decades to appear
This part of the game is a sombering experience because it's just whoever you chose to play as who gets to talk with Teletraan Alpha mid-game, adding to the vibe that there's something that's really personal to these characters that's going on here. For instance, Wheeljack. "Darkness comes to us all." You contributed a lot to the cause. You didn't just destroy, you built. And you think yourself to be young and still having a brighter future ahead of you. And of all people, you are the one getting the short end of the stick. The ambient..."darkness" surrounding the Proudstar gives you the impression that while you still have quite a while to live in, you are still aware that some..."time" is running out. What about Sideswipe? "There will be chaos, but if you face it with courage, you will live." There's this impression that Sideswipe is gonna be a redemption story. "You're doomed, but you can still change that." This room is like Purgatory for him. This part of the chapter plays out as if "Hey Sideswipe, here's the light at the end of the tunnel. It might lead to another war but while you're still far away from it and in this tunnel, ya gotta keep believing it'll lead to peace and greener pastures." What about Grimlock? "I just can't see your future, my dude." Either Teletraan Alpha legit can't, or is just pretending. Dude's kicked Unicron's gluteals. Made a 5-man combiner team. Found an unlikely friend (Wheelie). What about Bumblebee? "You'll be a living legend, dawg. Congratulations." That room, it's not made dark to scare him. It's made dark to make him shine. That was an early testament to his own quote of "the least likely can be the most dangerous." What about Optimus Prime? To me, Optimus Prime is just the saddest, because what Teletraan Alpha has told him about isn't just his future, but rather also about the burden he was born to bear and didn't exactly get a say on. It's like he's getting tired of the war, but is still going on, pushing on, because he himself knew how heavy his burden is, and doesn't want anyone to bear the same kind of burden in fighting the Decepticons. Leading the troops, keeping them believing in freedom and peace, and being kind to other races, even as the war forces them to do the opposite. "You will lead the Autobots so they will face the darkest hour, but you won't live to see the end of it." His response is like a sincere sigh of relief. "Finally, my friends are in safer hands even when I'm gone." It's like Optimus Prime is a ghost that keeps on haunting, a ghost that finally gets near to getting inner peace.
I think my favorite has to be grimlock. Because alpha cant predict his future but grim doesn't care. And in that way he benefits from it Because without anything being set in stone he can change his outcome Because sometimes you're more confident going and blind then going and knowing what's going to happen. reminds me of Dinobot in a way
Grimlock in the future will become intelligent for a brief time and will create a new Autobot team the Technobots: Scattershot, Nosecone, Strafe, Afterburner & Lighspeed who can combine into Computron
I wonder how much of this we would have seen if Devastation ever got a sequel. These prophecies are chilling in a way that’s also comforting, which is interesting in a high action game like this with minimal dialogue outside of the main story. Grimlock’s is especially interesting because Teletraan-Alpha has enough data on him to know who he is, but either due to a lack of information on his character or the implied “other” (created on Earth, Shockwave’s tampering, and other possibilities).
Dunno if they could get away with it this time, considering the "first" one was outright "what if the City of Steel episode from G1 branched to a different universe?" If the creators decide to create a second game, they either have to set up a whole new universe, or base it on another part of the G1 series...which has now proven a bit difficult cuz they have do justify how it fits.
Kind of funny it’s basically telling Optimus that his destiny is to keep the matrix until hot rod comes along and fulfills the prophecy and brings peace
But in Japanese continuity, Wheeljack doesn't die / comes back, so all will be well. And Teletraan is wrong here since Optimus also comes back. In the US continuity, he survives. In the Japanese, he dies. The computer implies he just dies.
@@kainthedragoon8081 Yeah that was a retcon they had to write in after they aired the Movie after they aired Victory because they realised the movie contradicted what they'd written (see also Prowl 2 and Ironhide showing up in Headmasters). That whole BinalTech nonsense is nonsense. Sometimes keeping a story simple is best. I'd prefer to suggest that Planet Master simply had the tech to bring Wheeljack, Prowl and Ironhide back. Keeps things very simple. But you're right, that's Japanese canon and my idea is fanon.
About Optimus...it still checks out. He wasn't there when Unicron showed up in full body glory. That one was perhaps darker than "we need to stabilize the Plasma Core to stop it from blowing up Cybertron." I mean, the Autobots and Decepticons had been destroying Cybertron for a long, long time, it ain't that surprising anymore. Unicron appearing is scarier cuz finally there's someone that could outright destroy all Transformers once and for all.
Optimus Prime and Bumblebee: I accept the future
Wheeljack: Aw scrap, I’m gonna die
Sideswipe: Why do you sound like my brother?
Grimlock: SHUT UP WALL!!!!!
Grimlock:" Optimus, your ceiling is talking to me!"
*remembers Wheeljack's fate in the movie* ....... *sobs uncontrollably*
Sob along realizing he'll never get to see his grandkids the Technobots.
Funny enough this did also lay down his eventual survival on the G1 Japanese timeline
"What you have created will go on to save entire planets." Grimlock saved the universe from an eldritch horror on par with Unicron!
After finding out about his fate here he proceeded to mess with time to hopefully change the future
It ultimately failed in changing fate but did make a temporal clone of him that did admittedly take a few decades to appear
At least in Japanese G1 he got to be Victory
I can't help but tear up at Wheeljack's part...
Seth Snake “Come on Arcee, we've gotta get this launcher into place. Megatron's making his big push, and we've gotta push back!”
prime and wheeljacks fates are the sadest. i could see prime being ok with his fate though cause he trusts his friends to go on without him.

Optimus was just lied to. His friends won't be safe about 80 to 90% if his friends get fucking murdered before him
I always found it strange that Wheeljack, of all bots, would take the forecasts of the ultimate supercomputer as “hocus pocus prophecies”.
Being told after millions of year of life that death is upon you isn't easy to take.
@@XX-sp3tt Especially if it's coming so soon.
Man, how does Peter Cullen do this?... "That is all I could ever ask..." hits me in the feels every time! 😔😥
The one for Wheeljack makes me so sad
Wheeljack makes sense because, while he did did…his creation aka the Dinobots helped save the galaxy multiple times
Like in the episode, "Call of the Primitives" and "Grimlock's New Brain"?
and he had a hand in creating the Aerialbots and they helped save time twice by traveling in the past.
Grimlock created the technobots, effectively being Wheeljack's grandsons.
Poor Wheeljack....
Optimus Prime: If i have to sacrifice myself in order to end the war and save my friends, that's suits me just fine!
Grimlock in the future will become intelligent for a brief time and will create a new Autobot team the Technobots: Scattershot, Nosecone, Strafe, Afterburner & Lighspeed who can combine into Computron
Computron think too much!

Optimus' and Wheeljack's simply refer to their fates in TFTM
0:48 well, that makes me feel special
If only Wheeljack did not die...and honestly? I would have preferred Sunstreaker as a playable character over Sideswipe
Probably couldn't get the voice actor or someone that sounded similar so they went with Sideswipe

Technically it just says they'll face the darkest hour without him, which they do.
Wheeljack did die. The one we see in the anime is a temporal clone he accidentally made while trying to prevent the fate he was told
