Murilo Pena Goncalves It's a reference to the fact that Soundwave will, unknowingly, give up his loyalty to Megatron in favor of Galvatron (who actually _is_ Megatron, but Soundwave doesn't know that), and the fact Soundwave didn't do anything to help Megatron when Starscream threw him out of Astrotrain in the movie. Or if you read the IDW comics, then Soundwave gives up on following Megatron and instead joins the Autobots (or at least Bumblebee/Optimus).
I dunno, seeing as to how the head honchos openly stated that they didn't give a shit when they wrote/okayed it, and pretty much assumed kids wouldn't either, I'm leaning towards it being more stupid than bold.

You know I did read a rare comic series of the old Marvel comics titled G2 and even though the artwork does have some questions the story is pretty good. In a way it's similar to the predictions about how the Autobot Decepticon war ends. (But it wasn't with the defeat or either AUtobot or Decepticon)
