I bought a Quadratec 10 S Stealth winch , it wasn’t on my Jeep 3 months and I got a recall on it. They were spooling out on their own while people were driving. I fought with their customer service and got nowhere. I finally put in a claim with my credit card company and they reimbursed me. I sent the winch back and bought a Warn VR EVO 10S and have no problems at all.
Man...the exact same thing happened to mine less than a year old and only used twice! Sent it in to get repaired, water poured out of the housing when he opened it. He said the seal was installed wrong, it was rusted and locked up inside. Had to be completely rebuilt. Warn paid for the shipping to and from the repair shop after a little complaining.
I bought one on Amazon. Was $84 but worth every penny. Just make sure that you ask the seller if it fits the model winch you have before ordering it. The cover I bought covers the entire winch to protect it from the elements . Choose what’s best for you and your budget.
I wanted to clarify: this was repaired under warranty? No out of pocket cost other than taking it to repair facility? Thanks for the video. I agree anything can fail and does not make it junk. Nice Jeep! I'm doing my research and hope to buy a Rubicon in the next few months.
Probably should have kept your old winch! I’d be pretty pissed if I spent that much on a winch and it failed after a hand full of times, I bought a Warn VR-10 a few years ago and has worked great, I don’t think I’ll ever bother with synthetic line just because I don’t want to worry about the upkeep or dragging it over rocks and stuff.
I will never buy a zeon winch mine was the same way and left me in a hard spot stuck. Stick with warn m series. They are expensive and fail don't buy one mine is older I've had it for awhile it's not weather proof at all.
I wouldn't touch warn, overpriced and usually no warranty coverage. I have 4 chicago electric winches on trucks a trailer and jeep and they work forever, cheap from Harbor freight. The one on the car trailer is over 15 years old, out in the weather all the time. Get the extended warranty and there is no shipping it off to be repaired, you get a brand new one.
You must be the lucky one.... everyone else that has those winches complain how they have to throw them away after a hard pull cuz they burn up. But then again you really aren't using them hard pulling cars onto trailers.

Great, honest review. Seems to be hard to find these days.
Where'd you get the plastic cover? I cant find it on their website.

How is the winch holding up? I am just about ready to purchase one. I keep going back and forth between this one and the VR Evo.
Get the zeon, I've had both

For sure! But that JL of yours doesn't get stuck... I have seen the videos!
@@brittclark5681 Hahahaha! Well, this place might have a few spots where we can test that theory along with your winch!!

warn is bloated marketing. I don't see any reason to buy them over smittybilt
I would rather pay the extra money than support China
@@bartperry4196 I would too, but we're supporting China whether we like it or not, so I'm saving money at least.
Shittybuilt. Enuff said.
