Cinematic Jeeper/Regular Guy.
This TH-cam channel is the bridge between my obsession with Jeeps and camera equipment. I have enjoyed them seperately for long enough! This is the perfect place to bring them together! The content here is going to be based around jeeps, whether it's offroad trips, installs, reviews, or even vlogs. I will also be sprinkling in some camera tutorials for all your jeepers! Be sure to subscribe so you can get notified when I post new videos! I post at least once a week! Thanks for being here!

Britt, not sure if your following comments anymore, the issue with your fuel gauge/temp gauge not working is simple. The original gauge cluster had a cardboard piece with wound copper wire that reduced the ohms and prevented the gauge from burning up.
I rebuilt a Scrambler in 1990 and it was considered old as a '79. I had to replace the Iron Duke and went with a 350. I'm watching this smiling at the agreement with what you are saying especially since I am on my 7th Jeep acquiring a '79 CJ5 last week so I have a new-old hobby again. I only own the CJ5 and when I don't have a Jeep, it's just not right. The wife and I joined SAR about a year ago and began to look at Jeeps (STICKER SHOCK!!!) as the wheel-base on ourRAM 2500 is just too long and we want to preserve our RAM, so an old Jeep was the answer. Bigger tires have always been a thing, but this rebuild I'm thinking to reduce the turning radius balanced out with the ability to roll over the desert rocks which seem to grow bigger all the time! Oh, and the sand in the washes is prominate reality as well. Every search we have been on so far has been challenging, so this SAR Jeep is going to include some new thinking, suspension being the most important. My son is telling me coil-over shocks with 37nds, but I'm leaning toward 33 or even less, mud/snow and a width which produces the tightest turn radius. I'm not going to lift it any more than I have to which is appearing to be around 2 1/2". Low and slow for searches is best from what I have learned. I'm curious if anyone else has done this and how it played out? Do you still have yours? It is a great example of puting your heart and soul into what you are doing!
Nice vid, but I thought I'd see more of you driving it rather than talking about it. As an aside, I've had two JKs, an 08 that I got in 2011, and a 2015 that I ordered with half doors. I did not like them. I looked at, and drove a YJ, but it was too far gone. I now have an 03 TJ that is still very "jeepish" but also kind of modern, like the cars I drove in the 60s and 70s. Right now, it's over 20 years old but, in another 10 or 15 years, maybe I'll do a vid on driving a really old jeep.
Good video and although my TJ is 2 generations newer i still feel your pain on a lot of what you talked about with an older Jeep.
Beautiful Jeep! I've loved Jeeps since I was a kid and will eventually own a CJ5.
I got a 77 cj5. I’ve been “working” on it for 10+ years now. Tons of extra parts too
The 55 speed limit wasn't enacted untill Presidant Jimmy Carter was in office after 1976.
Drive my 66 CJ5 weekly 2nd owner
My advice is stop showing yourself in every single view of the Jeep. Back up and show the entire vehicle front to back and give each side at least 15 seconds so we can see it.
BEAUTIFUL! My pop used to take me offroad in his pre AMC CJ5.
I have a ’61 and a ‘82 CJ5. The ‘82 has a 258 straight-6 with power steering and a tilt steering wheel. That makes a huge difference in how they drive.
Your CJ5 sound like mine I just picked up and going to bring up to par for Search & Rescue the wife and I just joined a year ago. I'm curious...is your lifted with bigger tires like usual, or did you like the tight turning radius like I do? I love this thing (7th Jeep I've had over the years), but it's more for a practical purpose this time around. I'm going with a soft-top and it will likely only be up when it rains. Any thoughts to add? Thanks and have fun with yours, building and driving!
@@danielevans4159My ‘82 has not been lifted but it is on 33 x 12.50 x 15 mud terrain tires. It doesn’t have tire rub except when flexing.

What you said about the speed limit in 1970 is absolutely wrong. The speed limit didn’t drop to 55 until the “gas crisis” in 1974. In 1970 interstate highways had a 75 m.p.h. speed limit.
I just got a 1969 cj5 and I watched your video, it was so helpful I’m hoping that I could ask you a few questions
I wanted to find out more about you fixing your breaks
I loved your video of switching out your breaks on your cj5 im looking forward to switching out mine on my 1969 Cj thank you again great video
Very interesting. I'm from Nagaland, India and own a 1963 CJ 5 M 38 A1. It belonged to the Pakistan Army and was captured by the Indian Army in 1971. Unfortunately, due to the lack of spares, I've converted it to right hand drive and it runs on a Mahindra Diesel engine with matching gearbox and differentials.
I know this is an old video, but this may solve your sagging window issue 12:10 th-cam.com/video/g_T28sPNIxY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=FiYKMHZOe5eAxQBN
nice work
could it have more orange peel?
I have a 74. The best way to explain the driving is driving a bobtail
Great video and comments! Thanks for sharing! Love your Jeep!
miss my 1975 cj5 with the 304 in it sure was a screaming demon up the strip mines here in pa back in 77
That "useless information" means a lot to some of us. Good job on it. 👍
I just got 1976 jeep cj5. 304 engine I’m restoring
My cj5 has the V 6 1959 it's been hot roded . And is fun to drive . I really like the look you got with yours
se eu pudesse eu compraria jeep e´meu sonho
I have a 66 CJ5 with a V6 and 3.73 gears. I drive it more than my loaded 2012 toyota camry. The jeep has no issue cruising at 70. You are definitely not having a conversation at that speed. The brakes do suck compared to modern brakes. But I've been a truck driver for 18yrs so I've gotten into the habit of leaving space and looking further down the road than most car drivers.
Looks part Willys part AMC
There's tons of jeep build vids out there. I'm working on a 1980 cj5..man the things ya gotta go thru...all original with the atomic 4 banger.. leaving it alone runs fine.. never hit 30 on a trail anyway. Love the ole jeep.
DO YOURSELF A BIG FAVOR / PUT A STRONG ROLL BAR WITH DOWN SUPPORTS / BECAUSE IF YOU KILL YOURSELF THAT WILL BE BAD MOSTLY FOR YOUR FAMILY / BUT IF YOU PARALLELIZE YOURSELF IN A ROLL OVER , THAT WILL BE A LIVING HELL FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY AND YOU WILL WISH YOU WERE DEAD IN THAT STATE / WORST OF ALL YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO OFF YOURSELF / GET A F- ING ROLL BAR PUT ON THAT JEEP BEFORE YOU TAKE IT FOR A RIDE / USE YOUR HEAD BESIDES A HAT RACK (SELAH) YOU FIND OUT WHAT THE WORD MEANS / HEARS A CLUE / IT'S IN YOUR BIBLE , IN THE MARGIN
I would put some 31 inch street tires or all terrain on that jeep and i bet it would improve the ride quality dramatically. Knobby mud tires do you no favors on the road.
The speed limits were 65 mph at the time. I drove my parent's '68 CJ-5 all the time after I got my licence in 1972.
sould be build cj 5 project excellent jeep mambo restoration beautiful mecine austin 70 made in jerman. wiLLy overland
Beautiful. The tall lift and tall tires aren't my style ( I prefer something like a 3" lift and 30x 950 tires) But I love the footprint. I think the old schoolers look best when they keep the utility look , withthe tires no wider than the body dripline. What a lot of work - and patience!
Unreal brother absolutely beautiful!! And your information isn’t useless at all, I just bought a 1970 Cj5! Gonna count on you to guide me!
I used to have a late 1970 CJ-5, that I bought used from an AMC dealer. There isn't much that I couldn't tell you about that Jeep, but the one thing that stood out over the time I had it, is that it was built from all sorts of leftover Jeep parts!! The basic Jeep was 1970, the radiator was a 1968, the transmission was a 1969 and the transfer case was a 1967!!! Kaiser knew it was the end and was trying to use up everything they had. This one came factory with the roll bar and the rarer "safari" soft top. I loved that top because it was designed to roll the two side up as well as the back so you could have the roof only for a sunshade. It also came factory equipped with two heaters, one of which was for heat and defrost and the second under the passenger side of the dash for extra heat in the very cold winters. I could sweat somebody right out with those! Also had the standard 225 V-6 odd-fire that was a real brute with all sorts of torque!! Here's some links to the Jeep (sadly, I do not own it now) with a couple more notes: Portrait in my driveway of my pride and joy at the time. You can see the orange steering shock. When I bought the Jeep, it had a horrible shake at about 52 mph. The dealer added that before I signed. Found out later that the tires merely needed air! LOL The color of the Jeep is also interesting. It never had any other color, and this is 1970 FORD blue! Took me a LONG time to figure that out!! www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/gyntcnh487lepeip7401x/jeep.JPG?rlkey=ccg3o157oupe7bffxgu0q8ttq&dl=0 Front view where you can see the roll bar under the safari top: www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/cunmn4vp25511z893b68v/0028.jpg?rlkey=2jymzr8bvwo00zvongh1uyms7&dl=0 Rear view but this is important! NO the tailgates were NOT blank! Yo Brit. Will here. Great video, very knowledgeable. I own a 68-70 mashup CJ5 with rear gas filler, side spare, 225 Dauntless. Question, what paint code are your rims? Someone painted over mine, I’ve been out of luck finding any info. Even Billy from S.V.E in CT was having trouble.
…inline 6
I owned a '62 CJ5 with the Hurricane 4 banger.....I also had a '66 CJ5 with the Buick V6 225, but had to return it to the seller because I couldn't keep it on the lane (bad steering).....I then bought a '68 CJ5 with the V6 Buick 225. I ended up taking out the V6 and replaced it with a good used Buick 350 V8 that literally just dropped right in. Yes, everything fit. I added Saginaw power steering and a larger radiator. Power brakes and a hydraulic clutch was added too. I ended up selling it for an insane price about 45 years later. I wish I had not sold it, but needed the $$. I now drive a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with the Eco-Diesel engine. It flys!! .....Russell D.
How can i get jeep cj on my country and i am here Thailand regions.
Sweet Jeep Mr Clark! I have a 75 cj5 that I've had since brand new. First car I ever drove! I was 8 years old and I'm 56 now.
You did a fantastic resto on that CJ probably the finest I've ever seen that gives me inspiration for the one i've got. If you do another project I'd like to see it as well, no matter what it is. Good job! Ill send a video when I jump into my 1960 CJ-5 Its a dauntless and Ill probably keep that in it, although a friend gave me a 1991 Olds 98 with a even fire but Im not sure If I should go with that or not any advice is appreciated. Thank you for sharing.
Gaaaaa! Drive it already!
Love your build
U need to speak for YOUR jeep and not Jeeps in general, please. I've got a 1977 cj5 and don't have these problems you describe.
You said that when that Jeep was built the speed limit was 55 mph. WRONG! In 1970 the speed limit was 75. The 55 mph speed limit wasn’t until 1973-74 during the Oil Crisis.
Hey Britt, very cool video. I’ve had a ‘72 CJ5 forever and I’m about to do a lift and wheel/tire upgrade. I like your stance with the lift and all. Are your original stock wheels 15x8 or 15x6?
Beautiful jeep I have a 90 jeep only 52,000 miles on unfortunately it has only been used for plowing condos I need to start restoration on it soon
