This guy was an absolute stud. Didn't complain, didn't blow up, didn't get obnoxious, didn't raise his volume. He came here to enjoy wings, talk, and promote his cause and he did it all with grace. Kudos to you Tom.
tbh I had NO idea that Tom was this informed and involved in the political food issues in our country. I've always liked him on Top Chef, but seeing him here, I really really like the dude. Just, what a good dude man.
I always liked Tom. His restaurants are great but I gained mad respect for him in this episode. He ate the wings like a boss. He stood up to tipping and he has a social change stance to be proud of.
Woodshadow - You're proud of a man that thinks the government is responsible for feeding everyone? Velcome to Soviet Union. Here is your weekly ration of chocolate, rice, borscht, and wodka. See you next week... Comrade. Social change... ah, the brightest of the bright.
Aftermathoutdoors Ignorant rhetoric. You don't have basic understanding of what the food program means. It's like saying you live in a communist country because they provide roads for you to drive on and you don't build them yourself..fucking idiot.
The fuck? Of course that one of the goverments jobs is to keep their citizens fed and healthy. That's what civilized countries do. That is the reason you only pay for experimental treatments where I'm from and why kids get healthy food in schools and why there are free textbooks for kids. You want more/better? Sure, pay for it. Capitalism is great but the goverments job is to say where/when and where/when not it is appropriate. The more I read/watch about US the more I'm disgusted by it's totalitarian reverence of capitalism.
Even though Tom wasn't flashy at all, I feel like he is one of the more down to earth guests on the show. His plug definitely gives you something to think about. Thanks for bringing him on!
That is one of the cooler comments I have read thus far, good citation. Being a watcher of this I would have been entertained to find that in the essay if I were one of the people reviewing it.
As a culinary student...i have always loved Tom and his personality. This show brought what we all needed to see out of him on this one. Loved how he did the critique on the last wing!
The variety on this show is really great. Even when I haven't heard of the guest, like in this episode, the show is always good. All credit to the tone, premise and Sean for that.
JebaJebaJemeh I was thinking the same thing in reverse. I've actually heard of this guy, but have become fans of other people I've never heard of because of this show.
One of the best episodes. I like how Tom is not just a boss or a celeb, but he is also talking about giving back and working on a great project to help our country. More people like this please!
As a huge foodie, who loves this show and everyone of the guests so far. This was by far the best episode!!! This is such a great idea, and I watch every episode that comes out!! Love it!
Maybe I’m ignorant on this but who is hungry in America? If you have low income the government gives you $200 a month per person in your household for groceries, and in every major city I’ve lived in there are enough places ( mostly churches) giving away hot meals that you could literally eat a full meal every hour at a different location, the food is often pretty decent too.
it irritates me when wrestlers and various guests are on. get to hear apart of themselves and you get a different point of view upon them... I'm a fan of his shows but wow he's a stiff in the ass.
Yeah and he really made a good point about how there´s enough food produced to feed everyone but no political will to make sure everybody is fed. I like that he used to show to get a great political message across.
JebaJebaJemeh Kevin Hart had me dying. He & his friends who were off camera were hilarious. Too Hollywood?!! Smh too much hate is blinding. U start seeing shit that's not there lol.
Tom was hands down the best guest on all your shows, as far as eating and the amount he put on the last wing. Action took them like a champ too. Huang was the funniest by far tho. Another great episode. I can't wait for the next.....like ME? Lol
I wasn't familiar with Mr. Colicchio because I never watched Top Chef but I enjoyed this interview. He seems like a great person and I love that he has a cause to feed America. Well done. Thumbs up on this episode.
I didn't know much about Tom before this episode (honestly thought it wasn't going to be any good) but I absolutely loved this episode! One of my top three favorite episodes based on how genuine, heartfelt, intelligent, and laid back Tom was. "First We Feast" is nailing this and Sean nail each and every interview. Interviewers should take a page out of Sean's book! This guy is what you want to see in interviews. Great job! P.SPlease get Dave Chappelle on this show.... like for real. Pretty please.
As a baby boomer I tend to be out of the loop with your guests at times so I really am impressed how you enlighten us about who they really are. I have to say Sean, you are brilliant at what you do. I hope to see many more episodes of your show because so far I have been binge watching them and can't seem to get enough.
Great questions Sean. I feel like this episode is a return to form (interview wise). Very natural and funny interactions. I wanted this episode to keep going. Keep it up.
I'm not familiar with Tom but he seems like a cool dude. A lot of top chefs get arrogant and condescending when eating other foods, this guy took it for what it was and had fun. Props, man!
I'm so glad Tom is against tipping. It's THE biggest con of the restaurent industry. They managed to convince the government to allow them to force the consumer to not only pay for their tab, but also pay their employees' wages. A lot of restaurants even include in the bill so you don't even have a say in the matter. The notion that you need a tipping system in order to ensure good service, is asinine. In non-hospitality industry, you know what promotes good service? The fear of being fired. Why should it be different for the hospitality industry?
This guy was an absolute stud. Didn't complain, didn't blow up, didn't get obnoxious, didn't raise his volume. He came here to enjoy wings, talk, and promote his cause and he did it all with grace. Kudos to you Tom.
Thank you Sean Evans, Hot Ones and First We Feast for introducing me to Tom Colicchio and his No Kid Hungry, A Place at the Table and other organization committed to feeding the hungry! I love you guys!
Tom was cogent, respected the wings, handled the heat damn well, had a good mix of fun and serious topics and thoughts, and dabbed the last wing. He's definitely set the bar high for all guests going forward.
Awesome job Sean! you are always so well prepared with specific question catered to guests that range from DJ Khaled to Tom Colicchio. Not only do i enjoy watching you guys suffering through the sauces but i enjoy your interviews more.
Sean is always so smooth, his high-five handshake at 17:10 is a move that can be awkward but wasn't at all. Tom went in for the handshake and Sean was ready with a high five but he came out like a social genius with that high energy reaction.
I've been following this show from jump. It's been very very entertaining. I am so happy that it has come to this! This is by far my favorite episode. An articulate guest that took the pain and brought a beautiful message. Bourdain next??
Damn Sean. You really nailed it with this guest. Everything flowed perfectly and it was really interesting. Quality is top notch with this guest. Interesting and entertaining.
This has got to be the best Hot Ones I've seen. Great questions, great exchanges with the guest, lots of humor and great composure. The best part is the Chef's conclusion on what's going on in his world.
Tom Colicchio, if you ever read this comment, good luck wth feeding the people of the world and getting more support towards the movement. You've got my support, everyone should be fed well!
Btw, I like each and every episode! This by far my most favorite episode, well done, good Sir!Wow - you never cease to amaze me the gets you get. LOVE YOUR SHOW. Colichio! AWESOME!!!!
believe it or not, he's not an asshole in person lol, think he puts it on for the show. i mean he's definitely "Real" i guess , but when i met him a couple years back, he was really cool, even got a pic with him, smiles and all.
👍 True. Where I live, no profession is expecting to be paid in tips and in regards to the huge over the top tips that Sean seems to think will be missing, then those can still happen. Just because tipping is not needed or expected, it does not mean tipping can not happen.
I'm relatively new to this channel, but I got to say, you guys are doing a great job, as I'm obsessed with your clips. I don't comment much but I'm compelled to give a HUGE shout out to Tom, and his commitment to addressing issues of hunger and continued dedication to ending it. This is from someone who has grown up in communist Hungary where food was at times scarce and we had to work hard for everything we put on our table.
Way to go, Tom! Total Class Act all the way!! Great sport, well spoken, engaged, light and humorous but laser focused on what's important! You are a New York Star!!
Top Chef is one of my favorite shows. Much respect for Tom Colicchio for promoting an anti-hunger campaign and actually eating all the meat on the wings. Keep doing what your doing Hot Ones.
I've seen over a hundred episodes and this is by far my favorite episode because he spoke of things that a truly needing to be addressed in this country like people going hungry daily children infants elderly and the fact that we produce enough food and this country to feed each one of those people 10 times over and we don't this is something that needs to be addressed daily
I love when he's talking about the dishes that make New York, those seafood dishes and then you can tell it hits him and he says Coney Island hot dog hahaha
I've been a Top Chef fan for a few years and this was a really great look at Tom as a person. I had no idea what an activist he is and for such a great cause. What a great dude.
I love him. he does such great work and the fact that he's a celebrity chef and takes the time to do all he can to end hunger in this country is inspiring!
I'm so glad Tom is against tipping. It's THE biggest con of the restaurent industry. In non-hospitality industry, you know what promotes good service? The fear of being fired. Why should it be different for the hospitality industry?
Perhaps. But spend some time in non-tipping countries and the service tends to be rotten. I will sit down and order four beers up front because I know I'm not going to see the waitress again for 30 minutes and I know I'm going to need those beers while I wait for my painfully slow food to come out.
Tipping is a con pushed by restaurant lobbyist. They want to keep it like US prohibition era yet Americans don't push for this when the other 90% of the planet pays a real per hour salary for wait staff AND you can tip in some countries if services is above average.
I totally agree, my son was a Cook and now is a Chef if my food was great I think the thanks go to the Chef or Cook not the waiter and the owner should pay the wages not the customer.
@@brandonbp122 oh yeah right I have neeever seen them complain about slow food service on Top Chef....I have neeever experienced slow food in the US (for the slow ones out there, like Brandon BP seems to be, I probably have to explain that 'neeever' indicates sarcasm) and as Tom explained in the video, slow food is more often a kitchen problem and not waiter fault. Brandon you might also try and learn about how different cultures approach the concept of service - you seem to be going out wanting attention all the time from a waiter - where I am from we go out to eat, to enjoy the company of those we share our meal with, not to have the waiter approach us every other minute asking if everything is to our liking - we are adults here and can flag down a waiter and give them our feedback when we feel like it. Also if you need to drink 4 beers to pass 30 minutes you might have a problem with alcohol.
D25864 I'm so glad you wrote this! I feel like I've been going crazy because I always remembered him as Andrew Zimmerman. But all I can find is his name as Zimmern. Like, when did that happen?
This guy was an absolute stud. Didn't complain, didn't blow up, didn't get obnoxious, didn't raise his volume. He came here to enjoy wings, talk, and promote his cause and he did it all with grace. Kudos to you Tom.
but is that what the show is about ?
michael22414 better then dj khalid. stupid idiot was all about complaints and whining.
I agree. best one to date for me
When the guests start losing their minds over the heat, then when it's entertaining. What you describe is boring.
Right?! Khaled was an asshole.
This guy is the first guest to actually use he's 30sec in the end to spread a good message of feeding the hungry, he has my respects.
scorp312 n
Tom Colicchio was probably the most educational and polite and professional guest to date... wow that was a real pallet cleanser
tbh I had NO idea that Tom was this informed and involved in the political food issues in our country. I've always liked him on Top Chef, but seeing him here, I really really like the dude. Just, what a good dude man.

Even though Tom wasn't flashy at all, I feel like he is one of the more down to earth guests on the show. His plug definitely gives you something to think about. Thanks for bringing him on!
That's why I love him on top chef, not flashy down to earth guy that has a different sense of humor.
I just cited this interview in a political theory essay that I wrote. Proud to say I used Hot Ones as a source in an academic paper.
This is a year late, but that's awesome. Hope the paper went over well!
That is one of the cooler comments I have read thus far, good citation. Being a watcher of this I would have been entertained to find that in the essay if I were one of the people reviewing it.
Don't you mean it was a sauce in an academic paper? -thank you, I'm here all week
I love how Tom is actually using his expertise to lobby for something that actually helps the masses, as opposed to his pockets.
Dude walked through those hot sauces like he was the terminator
As a culinary student...i have always loved Tom and his personality. This show brought what we all needed to see out of him on this one. Loved how he did the critique on the last wing!
The time line has been disrupted. Sean has meet his future self.
lmao, make sure the flux capacitor is fixed or else you wont be able to go back.
just couldn leve hot ones alone huh ... fuck you barry allen
He needs to close the loop
I was going to write a comment on bald guys...but you nailed it.
Tom has to be one of the classiest people in the entire food industry ! So wonderful to watch him, great guest !
This dude was so fucking chill, i thoroughly enjoyed this
I know right? So gracious too.
Agreed. A+. Handled the wings and the questions like a boss.
Loved the fact he finished the wings, not just a single bite, and actually liked seeing the bone pile at the end.
The variety on this show is really great. Even when I haven't heard of the guest, like in this episode, the show is always good. All credit to the tone, premise and Sean for that.

Sean is one of the best interviewers ever, really hard to pin down but he makes Hot Ones enjoyable. Destined for great things dude!
I knew Shaun was desperate for guests but I didn't expect him to just bring his Dad on the show.
Rectal Ravine I'm dead. You win.
underrated comment lmaoo
Rectal Ravine that was fuckin hilarious bro good shit
bahahahaha
What a great guy. Killer job on the questions too, got to the real meaning of what you were trying to ask
He killed it, no drama, nothing
Ii
I like this guy. I didn't know anything about him. thank you for giving him light and platform
best episode yet, from a long time watcher
This was easily the most interesting Hot Ones till date. Keep it up guys great job!
this is actually a good interview, especially about No Kid Hungry. and Sean is a good interviewer 🎩
123haninhk That gets lost in the novelty of show. Sean is a good interviewer.

I'm a fan of his shows but wow he's a stiff in the ass.
I predict he dies of prostate cancer... stiff in the asses generally do
had no idea who this man is, but i thoroughly enjoyed this episode.
Really loved this. Tom was a great guest, very chill and able to talk about some serious issues.
This was refreshing. No screaming, no craaazy wackiness, no swearing. Like this guest and ep.
Definitely some swearing though...
shut the fuck up
best plug on the show to date
Agreed. He seems like a genuine good dude.
Hell yes.
+1. Good man.
New season of Top Chef premieres today and he plugs his charity to end hunger. Fantastic work, much respect.
Yeah and he really made a good point about how there´s enough food produced to feed everyone but no political will to make sure everybody is fed. I like that he used to show to get a great political message across.
Would love to see Dwayne Johnson, Bill Burr, and Dave Chappell do this!
Joshua Black Dave Chappell would be dope!
Well he has a Netflix series coming out sometime, maybe he would do it to promote that?
Joshua Black bill would start roasting Sean for putting through him this LOL
Dwayne Johnson is too Hollywood for this tbh. Kevin Hart was already a bit too much.
JebaJebaJemeh Kevin Hart had me dying. He & his friends who were off camera were hilarious. Too Hollywood?!! Smh too much hate is blinding. U start seeing shit that's not there lol.

hey sean, you were supposed to kill your looper
Jacob Eggert Haha I love that movie!
Upvote so Sean sees this.
Ah, good one!
that fucking hit me RIGHT in the giggles
Jacob Eggert lmao... that was goox
As a baby boomer I tend to be out of the loop with your guests at times so I really am impressed how you enlighten us about who they really are. I have to say Sean, you are brilliant at what you do. I hope to see many more episodes of your show because so far I have been binge watching them and can't seem to get enough.
... The show with hot questions and room temperature wings.
ajnode this cracked me up omg
Ded
Amazing
ajnode 🤣
im suprised they arent fcking dry like nevada, like usual
Found Hot Ones 3 months ago, and been "burning" my way through them. This one has quietly been one of my favorites.
battle of the beautiful bald men
Lmfao!
Captain picard vs Telly Savajas!
Make it so vs who loves ya baby!
Season 5 Stefan Richter?
Great questions Sean. I feel like this episode is a return to form (interview wise). Very natural and funny interactions. I wanted this episode to keep going. Keep it up.
Whoever thought of him, should be in charge of all future bookings! Fucking Legend!
In my opinion the best guest thus far.
you guys are delusional. this dudes not entertaining whatsoever. no humour, no banter, nothing but mindless ego-stroking.
This dude was top 5 easy. (no one can touch Neil deGrasse Tyson but so many don't make it all the way through without Difficulty.)
Really great. This one's up the the ladder of this series for sure.
I'm not familiar with Tom but he seems like a cool dude. A lot of top chefs get arrogant and condescending when eating other foods, this guy took it for what it was and had fun. Props, man!
"We serve it at room temperature, on wood, with a milk chaser. Enjoy." bows LMAOOO
One of my favorite parts of this episode. LOL. The delight in Sean's face was marvelous (and so funny). "Enjoy..." Heee.
I'm so glad Tom is against tipping. It's THE biggest con of the restaurent industry. this guy was great.
so respectful of your show and not trying to be too obnoxious at all.
really liked him.
How does this channel not have a 100000 Subs! Love this channel!
Actually has almost 400,000 perhaps you are missing a zero.
shellac25 LOL yes... yes I am! my bad.
Look like Sean found his long lost uncle or something
gotdemxslavefeet I think it's the hair
bwahahaha… yes theyre both bald, so clever you are.....
I’ve never heard of him before but I absolutely love everything he said and I completely agree. What a guy 👍🏼
Tom was cogent, respected the wings, handled the heat damn well, had a good mix of fun and serious topics and thoughts, and dabbed the last wing.
He's definitely set the bar high for all guests going forward.
Not even phased by any of these? This guy just set a new standard.
strongpillow YG though
No he didn't.
Its been done before by at least 2 other people.
Tommy Chong was the OG imo
I don't like her but I gotta give it to Rachael Ray, bitch was eating the sauces from spoons
strongpillow there's this stuff you can buy that mAkes you not feel the heat. sometimes I wonder.....
Awesome job Sean! you are always so well prepared with specific question catered to guests that range from DJ Khaled to Tom Colicchio. Not only do i enjoy watching you guys suffering through the sauces but i enjoy your interviews more.
Tom is one of my favorites. He and I always go at it during TopChef. By far one of my favorite episodes

Best one so far!! Addressing a very Important topic..
One of the best interviews ever! You guys are doing a fantastic job with this channel. I look forward to hearing from you again.
This has got to be the best Hot Ones I've seen. Great questions, great exchanges with the guest, lots of humor and great composure. The best part is the Chef's conclusion on what's going on in his world.
one of my favorite shows on TH-cam. keep it up Sean and crew!
they look like father and son
Tom Colicchio, if you ever read this comment, good luck wth feeding the people of the world and getting more support towards the movement. You've got my support, everyone should be fed well!
dude he's handled that fucking smoothly.
Btw, I like each and every episode! This by far my most favorite episode, well done, good Sir!Wow - you never cease to amaze me the gets you get. LOVE YOUR SHOW. Colichio! AWESOME!!!!
it looks like the host is sitting across from a future version of himself
LOL! You both killed me with your comments. :D
They don't really look alike except the same hairstyle
omfg
I thought I'd be kinda bored hearing about chef-talk, but I really liked this episode. Good guest, well done boys.
Just a coupla bald guys eatin chicken. You earned my like
Sean's smile and bow after he presents the last wing is adorable.
Man this is probably my favorite series. No joke this channel is the best. Keep up the good work fellas!!
pleeeease get Bourdain on here!
i agree.
believe it or not, he's not an asshole in person lol, think he puts it on for the show. i mean he's definitely "Real" i guess , but when i met him a couple years back, he was really cool, even got a pic with him, smiles and all.
stfu
that'd be beyond entertaining
MOVIN ON UP!!
What a boss, he took em all like a true champ! Another solid guest, First We Feast! Tom is dope.
Yea they should pay servers more instead of relying patrons for pocket money. Even if your awesome that's no guarantee a diner will leave a good tip

Can you guys get Gordan Ramsy? i think that would make for a great interview.
Shivam Sharma I'm going to go get a case of beer and watch some of his videos. Every time he says fuck I'm going to slam a beer.

How is Gordon not an actual chef? i have never heard of any celeb chef to get any michelin stars. Specially 12. Unless your talking about Tom?
Could you also get the Dalai Lama and Jesus himself? Also 2 Chainz would be nice.

Meg Doyle this would be awesome! And change up the sauces!
and he has to eat 10 wings with Blaire's mega death sauce
Meg Doyle yeah it would be cool to know about Sean more
I don't remember how much he covered about him specifically, but he did a solo Q and A on the channel a while back.
I really like colicchio. This was one of the top 5 hot ones for me. Need to start watching top chef again.
Best guest so far Sean! Someone with something to say that's worthy of respect and support. Thank you, we need more role models like this.
I've been a Top Chef fan for a few years and this was a really great look at Tom as a person. I had no idea what an activist he is and for such a great cause. What a great dude.
Two handsome slick scalped gentlemen. Love your jacket Sean. Great episode
Big respect, this one was not a nibbler, and also he is 100 percent right about his anti hunger campaign. A fantastic person!
He's been serving cold wings the whole time before this?!
In one of the interviews the guest comments on them being cold... can't remember who it was though.
Chandasouk Tpain said the wings were cold
Also Jeff Ross said they were cold.
The whole time. Cold Ones
Dominichii7 lol where we ask the chilling questions?
I love him. he does such great work and the fact that he's a celebrity chef and takes the time to do all he can to end hunger in this country is inspiring!
This man is a class act. It was one of the best interviews of the show!
Always happy to see a new Hot Ones! I have a critique for your video editors: Color grading needs a bit of work. This episode looks so flat.
Big time respect for this guy!
Tom is too chill for hot wings.
Well done, Tom. You were entertaining AND more importantly... thoughtful and inspiring.
Of the 10 or so episodes ive seen, this was probably my favorite so far. Tom rocks.

Tipping has gotten out of hand.
This dude beasted those wings.. Animal bruh! and also really interesting, smart person.
Probably the most cerebral Hot Ones yet. Great interview.
Underrated episode. Popped back up in my recommended feed, and felt compelled to watch it again.
Tom Colicchio is a hero of mine. He has gravitas and skill and lends his knowledge. I wish I could learn more from him in person.
You're getting better and better with these interviews. I'd be nervous as fuck interviewing Collichio.
You know you've made it big when you're rocking 360p
LOLLLLLL
fuck you sean
It's probably because the video is still only 20 minutes old. TH-cam can take some time rendering and compressing high definitions.
"You know what Sean... go to hell!"
You shot this episode with your flip phone...?
should have Andrew Zimmerman on here or Aaron Sanchez but i like the idea of having chefs on it changes it up a bit
or shaq
D25864 Shaq would be awesome!!!
D25864 I'm so glad you wrote this! I feel like I've been going crazy because I always remembered him as Andrew Zimmerman. But all I can find is his name as Zimmern. Like, when did that happen?
It's always been Zimmern.
Tom's an absolute king. Zero tears, zero whining. Honest to god what a KING.
He is just so adorable, and super well-spoken and intelligent. I appreciate his causes and passion for them. Damn.
