Just found your channel and already watched half a dozen. Great info on the rides, as lots of cycling on U-tube is not very informative about the areas which are ridden, unlike yours. Great stuff with lots of varied content especially the North Wales fishing.
Thanks so much for your feedback Sam. I love the great outdoors and try to share my experiences as they unfold, I tend not to talk to the camera about a load of nonsense about my personal life and just focus on the important stuff, in this case a bloody steep hill with a wicked descent. Cheers pal.
Fabulous road trip Daz, looked a real strenuous ride, you are a master at manoeuvring round obstacles and tight bends, enjoyed the fantastic views, o.k. the mini bike is looking a bit tame, but I am now energised had my coffee, so off I go! long john’s an all. 🥶🤗
Ha.ha. You might expect it, sorry to disappoint, 9.30. about five miles, had to stop off for more refreshment! not mentioning the long johns! still freezing 🥶 though! 🤗😊👋
Thanks Sophie, it's a big part of what I'm all about as a person and how I get through life. It's not always an up hill struggle and we're never coasting lol.
@@sophiescyclingandwalkingch4294 Hi Sophie, hopefully I will be back at it making some more videos soon and I'm looking forward to riding my drop handle bar bikes in the next few weeks once the weather settles down. Good to hear that your bike is ready for an outing too. I love my new / old hybrid but there's just no speed in it what so ever.
Thanks 👍Matt, they take a bit of time to actually make when you are out on bike ride because of the stop starting to get each shot in but I'm enjoying the creative side of trying to tell the story.
Cheers William, I've been wanting to film this one for a while now . It's super steep and quite a daunting hill to take on , I hope it inspires others to get out up here and see what the climbs are really like. All the best from this side of the Pennines.

Epic climb is that out of town , great drone shots thanks for the uploads and glad to hear your ok pal & lately I’ve been doing night rides and really enjoyed them
Certainly looks a great climb Daz, and a crazy descent in those conditions. Brilliant editing and drone footage gives a really good perspective of the Todmorden area. Managed to get out and do 70 plus miler yesterday towards Bolsover and found some beautiful new lanes and climbs. Cheers
70 miles is great going for February Mark. The Todmorden and Hebden Bridge areas offer some fantastic climbing in a relatively small area. Appreciate your comments too and thanks for watching.
Might try that climb, when I can get out again, did a local loop with a total of 24 miles, still waiting for lockdown to end. Nice to see you out and about, that looked very hard, stunning views, keep safe out their Daz.
Make sure it's dry Alan because it's that steep ! 24 miles is good going for this time of year. A few rides like that each week and you will keep the fitness levels up.
There are several ways to navigate over this hill David including a few MTB routes. I bet if you did them all you would climb about 5000ft easily. It's a really steep one for sure and with ice on the road I wouldn't want to go flying off down the 20% sections.
Thanks for watching Jay, it's been a bit milder recently and the lighter nights are getting nearer and nearer. Cycling is a great way to keep your self motivated at the moment and a 40k ride is just the ticket.
Your descent looked great! I have a few questions - these may come off as ignorant but I have never really cycled outside London so trying to understand how things work in the Pennines. 1. Is the surface generally acceptable for a road bike? In some places it looked pretty rough and you mentioned the same in one of your older videos as well. 2. How aggressive are the drivers? There seems to be a lot of open roads but they're narrow - in London too many close passes has always been a big issue. 3. Are the roads always that open or is it because of the lockdown + weather?
There are some fantastic road surfaces in this area and like many other places you will find ridiculous potholes. I think Rochdale council was recognised for it's swift response to reports of potholes recently. The car drivers in general are not like impatient city dwellers but you will always get the odd Knob head who will drive way to close to you but that is the peril of cycling. All the roads continue to be open too. There haven't been any check points on the roads I cycle and the same with my mates too. Hope this helps
