we’re here in Nairobi, Kenya working with the youth skateboarders on the same initiatives, major blessings to everyone striving towards a better future! I love skateboarding
skating since 1982 ! I remember trying to make my own board (and setting up wheels/trucks from a roller skate. Still skating despite my arthritis knee isn't helping that much thought! This documentary made me smile and crying at the same time (the struggle to skate, kid breaking board and not skating for Months, the little girl's jumping the stairs and the smiling after it was so cool). Ohhhh skateboarding. I've met the best people in my life because you! Thank's
This really triggered something in me... in my community we are literally around 10 skaters alone, and I gotta say we are a few the ones we get to watch these videos and see how skateboarding develops around the world, makes us proud of what we do, and makes us appreciate skating even more, life would be boring without a skateboard, stay motivated folks, love and good vibes from a small town in Mexico!
This community and what they are doing is brilliant! This whole vibe and the mentality is in essence what its all about, right? Massive props to all involved in this one. Thank you
Mad props to dc on this one this is the coolest thing I've ever seen skateboarsing really saves lifes and brings a whole community together i mean look no one is doing bad stuff and learning how to make decks and build skate parks
So cool to see americans who are working in cuba that are actually interested in uplifting the people, and not just trying to facilitating regime change!
Thats inspritaional, this should teach everyone, if you wanna make a difference to sit around and hope for the best, get out there and be the change you want to see in the world
"Access and excess of everything" that left me thinking we usually take what we have for granted, and sometimes we're ungrateful meanwhile there are people all around the world wishing to have what we have.
Freakin rad. American kids have no idea And I say that bluntly but humbly, because I’ve skateboarded (as just an average joe) in India, Malaysia and S Africa in the early 2000’s and it put things into perspective and so this Cuba gig means something to me. Not marketable, just real for the kids. ‘Mercia skaters are so culturally shaped for popularity and $$$
I want to show this video to my mom but we live in Argentina and she doesn't speak english language, so please add Spanish subtitles! It's a nice and very motivational video
Hi, I am a skater from Cuba and the skatepark where I go is precisely the one in the video and it is really very good all that they did 3 years ago, but unfortunately those conditions no longer exist, the place has deteriorated a lot, you can still skate and the boys do incredible things but you can't do more than that because of the conditions it is in and also that many of the skaters there who have great skill don't even have screws for their boards and some don't even have a board anymore. But hey, I'm just here to leave this comment so that you know and that it would be very helpful if more people like this came to help us rehabilitate everything that was before (it should be noted that the skatepark has deteriorated due to the passage of time and bad weather but also by people who want to take it from us to build other things and we have practically had to fight to preserve it and it has been a constant fight with police, guards and insensitive people) and again thank you very much for everything you did before
Cuba is asome for skate, in 2001...i have oportuniti in the city "Camilo cien fuegos"...jump stairs....i dream come back always...hahaha mi inglis is bad
I'm thinking, maybe it would be a good thing to bring those kids some non-abrasive grip tapes, maybe it's not perfect, but definitely better when you don't have acces to much skate shoes.
yeah, well in one hand you have the concept of "destroy" as a way to say you dominate the spots landing great tricks, but on the other you have real cunts who literally destroy the public and private spaces without remorse, even feeling good about it
this is great, and more skaters should adopt this view of taking care of public (and private) skateable spaces. If you want to skate it, at least repair the damage and don't be an asshole
This is cute and good for them kids but if you think that state guards are gonna be okay with you disobeying them by a kid saying "aye its cool we are creating artistic expression" that will be his/her last day on earth
Big respect to everyone puting their heart in what they love and putting together enough strength and solidarity to share with others
So great go cuba!

if Nike really care about skateboarding, they should help these underprivileged communities. Props to DC
Nike uses underprivileged communities to make their shoes for $1 a pair. Fuck Nike and the skaters who ride for them
True, Nike sb feels like just an opposite version of Dc shoes.
This documentary was official. Much respect!
MAD respect. this concept has been my lifelong dream. to bring the beauty of skateboarding to places where it's hard to get. What an inspiration!

had to laugh: "skateboarders want to take care of public space." Then you see a skater wearing a "Skate and Destroy" shirt. Oh, the irony.
yeah, well in one hand you have the concept of "destroy" as a way to say you dominate the spots landing great tricks, but on the other you have real cunts who literally destroy the public and private spaces without remorse, even feeling good about it
