shoutout to DC too for realizing that their skateboarding heritage is forever tied to Philadelphia and supporting the city and kids from here that skate these places.
I miss the high school days of running to Wawa from the Philly pigs at Love and grabbing a personal peppers pan pizza and ice tea. Sitting out front on my board chowing down waiting till they leave, then going right back to run from them again. It was a thrill for sure. Memories I will treasure for ever. Philly for life.
Im 31 now, remember vividly the years of Photosynthesis, Zoo York (before it went commercial), the 411VM and the DC video and all when I was a young kid getting into it. Was even blessed to visit Love Park a few times and a part of me got lost in the nostalgia of what was a part of my childhood watching this, even though its fairly recent stuff and i dont really know the guys in it (Obviosuly I know Kalis). but man do I miss the days of Brian Wenning's switch stance madness and Stevie WIlliams, his Chocolate tour part witht he Big L song was dope and his part in the DC video was so smooth with the beat drop on that switch back tail 270 out. What I'd give to go back to those days, even for just 1 day... 7.5 width (if you know you know)
Growing up on the East coast I'm Baltimore. I always had strong East Coast roots in skateboarding, and always liked idolized what was going on at Love, Kalis. And Stevie werey favorites back then and getting to witness somr of the footage from.back then makes.me.feel so happy, I really love that there's a new group of skaters keeping the Philly roots strong, not to mention these kids are really fucking good
I just got a pair of Kevin Bilyeu and these are like my 20th pair of Lynx OG since early 2000s. Been skating since 1999, skated different shoe brands, but I always come back to Lynx OG like home.
If DC stuck to their roots like this more often they’d be unstoppable. Bobs burgers josh kalis shoes tho? All these goofy collabs instead of making the og color ways/shoes easily accessible is gunna be their downfall. The lynx should be like the air force 1 of DC
The problem with core skate companies is they didn't adapt to the changing environment. They still created sub par shoes while the big shoe brands were smoking them in the quality department. I'm in no means wearing the swoosh or three stripes, just calling them out for their shenanigans
I remember always drawing skate logos on my arm in middle school i memorized how to draw the dc, fallen, osiris, circa, and mystery skateboards logo. Haha im glad i never got those tattooed 😅
This is what I see as forever iconic and inspiring. I actually got a LOVE tattoo cuz of how much it means to me, even though I’ve never had the chance to be there.
You skate down Ben Franklin Parkway today in Philly you still see skaters randomly all over. Philly is so fun to skate from South to North to West and everywhere in between. Shame what they did to LOVE park. So awful even if you don't skate. Like the design is not even good. Used to be a park where you could be a skater, chess player, on a date, hanging with friends, being a bum sleeping or whatever. Now its unwelcoming.
why dont berrics and all the big skateboard companies pitch in and build a love park replica. dc offered what a million to allow skating. BUILD a replica. america has tonnes of land.
If you haven’t ever been to Love Park, it sucked. The tiles, ledges, the run up to the gap, nothing was smooth or leveled. Which makes the tricks there more impressive.
Dc need hurry da fuck up and bring the kalis truth back into the mix it was 21st anniversary of that shoe in may a perfect time to reissue it. But they rather bring out bobs fucking burgers
Now THIS is the DC I grew up loving. Good to see they're going back to their roots! Great documentary. Much love and respect from the UK.
It's an iconic brand in skateboarding. I always thought it was great and Ken Block is a good dude.
Now this is the good stuff. Shoutout to Sabotage for helping DC Shoes remember some of the things which made them great to begin with!
shoutout to DC too for realizing that their skateboarding heritage is forever tied to Philadelphia and supporting the city and kids from here that skate these places.
This is what skateboarding is all about...RIP Ken block yo. Thanks for all you did ...
This company holds History, Culture, a real impact on society and all being done gracefully

it's now almost 11 PM, hot compressin my knee and I wanna skate. big ups to DC and Sabo, keep the culture alive.

Love Park certainly was a Spot I dream on to skate. I can clearly see me skating back in the days along with that crew.

Really awesome film. Love Park was everything in the street tech world in the late 90's. So influential in what skateboarding became.
DC hit gold with Kalis and Stevie there at the same time.
I just got a pair of Kevin Bilyeu and these are like my 20th pair of Lynx OG since early 2000s. Been skating since 1999, skated different shoe brands, but I always come back to Lynx OG like home.
