    Thanks to all the Snarky people, Corey, Anomalie, Jordan, Domi, and pretty much all these amazing new young faces for making piano COOL again... for someone who came up in the 80s, when we had Herbie and Chick playing keytars (and also defining modern jazz)... this stuff is great. I'm sure that many listeners to this don't even realize how spoiled they are. THIS IS ALL SO REFRESHING. I hope this trend continues, and can't wait to see what comes next.... THANKS ALL YOU PEOPLE ! !... and thanks to Spectrasonics for making the vibe great.

    They're both giants. They're definitely on eye level. Noone can outplay the other one. Their both experts in harmony, both are masters on this instrument, both are creative, both have the feel. There's no competition just fun.

    • @NamuSenpai
      @NamuSenpai 3 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      I disagree, I feel like Jesus has more technical skill, but Emily has a more melodic ear. They are both masters of their own style. I mean, she also picked the chords to jam to so maybe she's just use to playing along side them and didn't have to improv on the fly as much as Jesus.

      You compare apples with pears. Jesus is mainly a jazzer, Emily is not. Emily has a strong classical background. In Jesus's case I don't know but I guess he left classical early to go into jazz. Jesus's training in jazz is definitely more thorough and he's more experienced because of age difference. In the end there's no comparison. These are both prodigees and geniuses of the highest kind just like Alma Deutscher or Sungha Jung or Justin Lee Schultz.

    • @AntonStruzik
      @AntonStruzik 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@NamuSenpai it’s funny because i’d say the opposite, emily’s right hand is so perfectly clean and bright and her lines are super fast at times, Molina has more complexe and dense rythmical accompaniment and i’d say his melodies are a little simpler but slightly more memorable and catchy (was still hearing some of them he played in this video when i went to sleep last night and couldn’t remember where it was from). But we’re probably both wrong because it’s so subjective

      That was a rethorical question. Jesus is the kind of person that can pick up any chord sequence instantly.
      They should do a two piano record together, the interplay is very good and they also complement each other a bit with different technique and personality. okay it was just chords from emily's song dancin down to the exact voicing
      plus anyone their level can probably pick up 5 chords that cycle over and over.

      @@zchelmerjoashgamboa7366 Don't take it too seriously mate. Emily suggested a chord progression she probably had spent countless hours jamming on top of when working on Dancin. When a film crew is making a spectacle and you're surprised like this, it's a really smart move to pick a comfortable thing in a situation like this. The observation here is that when she introduces the chords it actually sounds more like Ah Yeah by Glasper than her own song. Check out that intro. Also, a funny coincidence with the "Aha, yeah".
