He explained in an old interview that when he wanted to learn how to play left-hand guitars were very rare and extremely expensive. Far outside what he could afford. So he said he bought a used righty and "improvesed". Damn good job I'd say!

The problem is that Janie Hendrix blocks all the stuff she owns, so very little of what you suggested is able to be found on youtube. Such a shame too, makes Jimi be excluded from all these younger people being able to discover him. There is some stuff on youtube, but some of it is just a bad night or quick tv appearance or whatever, so the problem is even worse since most of what is on here is not his best.

For Black kids into Rock music, he was our great idol, but he transcended race and genre. He was a musical prophet!

I have never heard a bad song from him. However, his live performances don't show his vocals as well as the studio version but shows him as a performer and GUITAR GOD.

"When I first saw Eric Clapton, I thought 'ah, here's a master guitar player', but Eric was a guitar player. Jimi was some sort of force of nature" -- Jack Bruce, bassist for Cream. What I consider to be his absolute best has no video, just sound. Close your eyes and watch your jaw hitting the floor. Jimi Hendrix playing "Driving South" on BBC-1 radio: vimeo.com/204320283. Jimi Hendrix was an absolute titan among men. Considered by many to be the greatest rock guitarist in human history, his career was tragically short as he died at the young age of 27 years old. But even in the few years he was active, he influenced the entire world of music. He defied all the odds while doing it too. He was a Black dude performing at a time when there was still a lot of stigma about it. He was left handed at a time when guitars were only made for playing right, and so he played his guitar upside down with his left hand. He shocked the world in the best way possible.

Today I'm an old fart 57 year old guitarist. Since the age of 9 Jimi's music has been my passion, my goal to strive for. What made Jimi was not so much his technical ability but his creative talent. Jimi was humble, watch some of the old interviews with him (Merv Giffin show is a good one) and it'll become apparent how humble he was. Back when Jimi was alive there were Jazz guitarists and classical guitarists who had skill levels that far exceeded Jimi's and Jimi was quick to point that out. Nobody in rock/blues music was doing what Jimi was doing, and those who approached what he was doing couldn't achieve what Jimi achieved. I grew up a couple hundred miles from where Jimi is buried (Renton Wa.) and I've been to his grave a couple times, it's a sad place for me. Stevie Ray Vaughn loved Jimi and you can hear it all over his music. Stevie Ray did what Jimi did: he took what he learned from his influences, added himself to it, and then took it all a step further. I live near New Orleans and so I can go to the city and hear people following their influences and honing their skills every night. As an old fart I love to hear a person flip out when they first hear what I've loved for almost 50 years. Music can bond us all together.

Srv was good but u can't beat the original. Had Jimi lived longer would of produced so many more good songs. The original is always the best.

SRV was amazing, but nah, Hendrix was the G.O.A.T. Period. His creativity, along with the songs he wrote on his own make him the best ever. He created the path that Stevie would follow. SRV himself would have told you that, he said it many times in interviews.

The fact that he had to flip his strings on a guitar so he could play left handed, the way he just leans on his whammy bar to create that sound and makes it all look so effortless, this is without a doubt one of the greatest guitar players of all time, and you haven’t even seen the vid of him playing guitar with his teeth yet, you’re in for a treat with Jimi Hendrix. I recommend all along the watch tower next

Jimi was crazy man, he played a right handed guitar that was turned upside down and had inverted strings. Then played left handed. He shaped the electric guitar to be what it is, with all those affects and just having the feel of the guitar, truly was the greatest

Alex Sava it’s titled in a way where it sounds more like he’s never heard a rock song before. Don’t get me wrong I enjoy his reactions just not the click bait titles.

If you weren't Experienced before, you certainly are now welcome to the Jimi Hendrix Experience . Jimi R.I.P 😢 in my opinion was and will forever be the GOAT guitarist 🎸 ever. That wasn't just a guitar he was holding that was his lady and together sweet music they did make . Jimi's charisma , sexuality which he had in abundance and natural born musical talent made him the phenomenal performer he was , sadly he passed at such a young age and was just starting to get get the recognition he deserved we are very lucky though that he left us the gift of his music 🎸🎤✌💕

HaHa! The first time i saw him was at the Fillmore SF...didn't know he was black...thought the band was from England...there was this tall black guy walking the floor with his hat upside down in his hand, passing out purple tabs...WTH, I thought, as was the fashion at the time. 20 minutes later, peaking, I saw him on stage. I got Experienced! He had a "joint" made out of flash paper, so when he lit it, and pretended to hit it, it burned all the way down in a second...then he launched into the first song, Purple Haze, which was what he passed out. A magic moment in show biz. I feel blessed.

Jimmie Hendrix was the greatest of them all. He was the first left handid guitarist. If you look at him on stage, look at his guitar,...he played it upside down and he stringed the guitar up backwards.
