I did, frankly, stop the video and just watch at the beautiful and balanced color choice. This Zelos is stealing my heart with this gorgeous combination of grey-blue-white. Lovely meteorite dial and the rest of the colors - just pure enjoyment. TY for showing this gorgeous timepiece!
I have been sub'd for a while, but almost never comment. I just wanted to let you know I really enjoy your channel. Very informative and your B-role footage is outstanding. As someone that is (hopefully) done travelling for a living, the GMT is a complication I am not particularly interested in. But this watch really knocks it out of the park.
Ahh do you like Opinel knife’s @Camushura ? If you were near I’ll sent you a few maybe trade for cool watch much cheaper then in Europe Opinel are iconic pocket knives 🍴😉all the Best do like that Zelos Meteorite dial my only concern is the maybe too grey dial some are more visible if we can see it in plain view câmaras 📷 always make dials look better 😉, have myself the new Seiko Alpinist “European limited edition “ the minute track is hard to see it’s a beautiful watch very good calibre and accurate but that grey they should had bit better minute a bit more visible my opinion. @justthewatch what’s your thoughts about the visibility on this meteorite dial ?
Looks nice, but I still have no use for a caller GMT, Im really excited to see what gets released next year now that Miyota has their new traveler GMT available. Im already looking at the new Traska and Im sure Zelos will drop some new models with this movement.
hihi! so I just got the watch, the best way to screw in the pin is to screw in counterclockwise till you feel the click then start screwing down the pin. Works like charm for me since I resized mine a couple of times to dial down the size! :)
Great watch but going to sit this one out. The lack of a fixed 24 hour markings on the bezel is a deal killer for me. I think the next version with the 24 hour dial, a sophisticated rehaute to incorporate said 24 hour dial, and keep everything else the same would be the ultimate GMT watch.
@@liolp808 Thank you so much, yes I think it's the best blue dials on the planet watches offer now, in some light conditions the mantas seem to swim in the water as a 3d effect or as an hologram
I'm going to pass on this hype train Too many others are also coming out Best to let the dust settle behind the hype train Thanks for another fantastic review my friend 👍
Just started seeing your videos. Good job. Like how you review the pieces. This watch is a little higher cost and Zelos never seems to have enough product available.
Hello , sir , I maybe late to the party, but does the watch have a screw down crown, Thank you for your videos they really show the pluses and minus of the watch. All the best
There is an issue with the screw pins on these, but i did find the trick after fiddling with it for a while. I don't think it has anything to do with Loctite. The problem is the pins all seem to want to cross thread when being reinstalled. The trick is to carefully turn the screw pin backwards while applying light pressure. If you are very careful, you will notice two clicks instead of the usual one. If you stop between the two clicks, the pin will screw right in with minimal effort. It seems like the links where threaded twice or the threads were chased incorrectly at some point during manufacturing. If you have already mangled the threads by trying to force it, you are probably out of luck.
That meteorite dial is both beautiful and unique. I said I was not going to buy another watch for some time but this one is going to be tough to pass up!
I had the same problem with the screws. They put Loctite on their screws before sending them out. I literally took mine to a watch repair store and they couldn’t even do it. I ended up just getting a refund because of the communication with Zelos. There’s no trick your missing, trust me.
I fell a little behind on my TH-cam viewing and missed out on any chance of getting the Aventurine or Meteorite versions. I decided to buy the Frost version. It is my first Zelos and the most expensive watch I have purchased for myself. I have GMTs from Glycine, Orient Star, Citizen, Timex and Seiko. The traveler versus caller movement does not really matter that much to me. If I travel more than one time-zone away, I would probably also take one of my Casio Square or AE-xxxx World Time watches.
I picked up the original Swordfish in the forged carbon, and I utterly love it. I think that I prefer that release to be honest, as it comes across as a bit more dressy, plus I really like the different choice of movement. That said, the new clasp looks a real upgrade as the original one has a habit of sticking if you dont angle it just right, and I love the new rotor.... I am going to need to buy another Zelos, arent I......
Excellent review of a beautiful, functional watch. I have a Breitling GMT with a 24 click bezel but I live in one of those 30 min offset time zones so it isn’t useful to me. I am a little jealous of that bezel!
I like the bumblebee color. However, Zelos should have made the numbers black on the yellow half... Like what they did on the meteorite with blue/white bezel. With the way they can apply and make lume these days, should be able to also transverse the lume play on the bezel even with the black/yellow color combo. I believe the aventurine will sell first.. seems the more popular or exotic dials. Nice new offering.. However, I'm not going to even try to butt heads and bite arms to get one when the flood gates open for sale on these. Do you notice that Zelos currently has like 3 different microadjust systems right now? Curious if they'll settle on one design for various models moving forward at some point?
Love you review Dave. I am struggling here. I have also been watching the Jack Mason GMT a traveler GMT. That looks good. Wish they would let you review it
great review, great shots, great watch. The screw head reinstall is very concerning. Hoping to get this one, will have to watch out for that. It's certainly strange that you were able to remove them with no problems, but reinstall was very difficult. Might have been better to remove the loctite and reapply a very light dab.
It really is nuts how fast Zelos watches sell out. My most recent purchase from them was the Aurora field watch, and despite getting a more conservative/less "hot" dial variant, I still ended up with 93/100. And that's after putting it in my cart at precisely 00h00m00s and spending only about a minute in checkout. Perhaps the jump in price will slow sales on this GMT, but I wouldn't be surprised if the meteorite and aventurine don't sell out in a matter of seconds. I always go into a Zelos buy with a backup model I can switch to in the moment... Anyway, looks like a cool watch. I'd be considering joining the frenzy if I hadn't *just* obliterated my normal spending cap on the Maen GMT recently recommended here.
It’s awesome. I presently own six Zelos watches… I’ve refrain from buying the last few offerings because I didn’t think that they had much more to offer than what I already had. Not going to be able to resist this one though. The bidirectional bezel That clicks and 30 minute increments is something I haven’t seen and any watch under $8000… And their styling is always recognizable… They are the Rolex of Micro brands in my opinion.
at this price point you can get a CW c63 sealander GMT with the same movement. As much as I love Zelos, this one is not particularly good value compared to others
No doubt this is well made, and will likely sell out in no time...........But I always get the feeling like there is to much going on with each of the models.
Some people will buy these and put them on eBay for double the price just look at the colorful swordfish that recently dropped they’re selling for double double on eBay my advice is don’t buy from these guys make them eat the watch
Oof, those screws. This leaves me wanting pin and collar. The blue plastic pin removal tool is $8 on Amazon. They should just include it with the watch instead of lock tight.
the adventurine dial one sold out so fast… i have both caller(original) and traveller gmt watches. traveler is great if you do travel between time zones VERY often, and don’t stop wearing the watch for more than a week because setting it is a pain/more work. caller gmt easier to set if you rotate watches.
It's a beautiful watch! I absolutely love meteorite dials! Unfortunately I don't like this watch company! They always make you jump through hoops to buy their watches! I don't want to have to get up at midnight to maybe be one of the so called lucky few to get one of their watches! Maybe make enough watches for everyone. They think they're Rolex! Screw them, I'll spend my money elsewhere!
Screw links are never a good idea. It a matter if the heads will strip. Just a matter of when. There a resin flat head screws aren’t used in construction anymore.
I was able to get the aventurine at launch it sold out in about a minute. I agree with others it should be a lottery since they are such rare timepieces. This one ticked a lot of boxes for me though
Hi Dave. great content as usual. I'm doing a video on microbrand GMTs and would like to know if you'd mind it if I use a 5 to 10 second clip from this video for that video. I can credit you in the video credits as well as the description. Let me know thank you.
Looks pretty nice, although I like slightly larger watches. Can somebody explain to me why they only make enough watches to last for a couple of minutes? Why am I even watching a video of a new watch that isn't available? Guess I hit the stop button 😂😂
I’m new fan for this brand, started collecting at Aurora series. I think not you hit the stop button, but someone hit it since long time ago 😂 . Until now I can’t have a chance to bought one from their officially website 😅
compared to any other watch I can think of with this movement its very competitively priced. It undercuts the christopher ward GMT with this movement while adding the hardness coating.
Love Zelos watches and their commitment to quality and style and customer service. Undoubtedly the best customer service there is, you have an issue and the owner responds immediately. This watch is beautiful, but for the life of me I don’t understand GMTs, just add or subtract a few hours.
This one is unobjectionable with its moderate size and relatively neutral colours. When I saw the yellow one that Relative Time had, the first thing that came to mind was an organism called dog vomit slime mold.
I just found Zelo‘s but all their good shit is sold out. And since my last name starts with a Z they were going to be my go to micro brand, but I don’t want to pay $1400 on eBay for $900 watch…
Nothing special. The dials are identical except he charges $869 for the watch with the Swiss movement in it. I will get something for this money if GMT is not a must-have feature.
Too many flaws with this one for me. The high price amidst wide availability of GMTs at all price points, quality control issues, sapphire bezel instead of ceramic, no 24 hour rehaut, and frustratingly limited availability to boot.
Love the subtle blue of the hands and indices on this one!
