  • Autopilot is hands down one of Tesla's best features. This is just the standard version of autopilot that we are using-hopefully one day we can upgrade to the full self driving !

    I like how TH-camrs like you don't show autopilot like it drives itself and shows autopilot realistically. You can find many videos where people show the car can fully drive itself

      Autopilot is meant to only be used on the freeways where you don't have intersecting traffic, pedestrians, etc.
      This muppet is putting people's lives at risk using a freeway system on regular roads

    Its content like this that just keeps me coming back. I know it sounds simple, but a simple video like this proves that you're making content other channels don't. And for someone that is ordering a Model 3 this year, I'm trying to soak up all the aussie tesla content I can. Keep up the great videos.

    Another great video Ryan. Have you looked at all your settings for the autopilot to make sure things are turned on that need to be as I watched another video on setting up autopilot and there a few options that you can turn on to make it easier including the reading of the speed signs and how it will react to them. You may have done this already but just thought I would mention it to you if you haven't.

    Great video mate. So it sounds like you hit the accelerator to moderate the auto breaking? Do you ever use the actual brake pedal? Also how long does it take to get out of the habit of hitting the brakes and is it easy to switch back to the normal pedal usage ie accelerator=go not stop?

    • @RyanCowan
      @RyanCowan  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks Dave ! Often find myself using the accelerator when autopilot is on, but never using the brake pedal. If I see something I want to slow for, I just push up on the stalk to disable AP and the regen breaking is strong enough to pull back the speed quickly 👍

    My 2009 Ford Mondeo had the distance cruise (which was brilliant), though no lane assist, but that's an 11 year old car, so this technology has been around for a while.

Anything bigger than a bird on or near the edge of the road, the car seems to slow down to safely avoid it. This will get better in time too.

    Interesting so thank you. If you've driven a recent model Toyota, I'd be interested in knowing the differences between Autopilot and Toyota's cruise control and lane assist features. They seem similar to me but I've not driven a Tesla so your comments would be helpful. Cheers

    • @RyanCowan
      @RyanCowan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah this is a great question. I will try and do a video on this soon, but in short ... Tesla's Autopilot is based on its Full Self Driving software, which basically means the car can drive itself with little intervention from the driver. They have a team of thousands working on this. The safety features alone are incredibly smart, with all those cameras constantly monitoring your surroundings. Anyway I hope that helps.. there's a lot to unpack here so will plan a video 👍 thanks for the great question

    • @Luma_29
      @Luma_29 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      In the Toyota, the car won’t make lane changes, turns, detect cars that are to the left or right, etc. When on a highway it may seem like you’re in “Autopilot” since it’ll adjust speed and minor lane corrections. But other than that, the Tesla’ll do more

    That was an interesting demonstration, thank you. I was surprised how well AP performed on normal suburban streets. Since it recognises traffic lights, I’m disappointed it needs FSD to make use of them. When I test drove before ordering, I liked the feature where it prompted me at traffic lights if I didn’t react when they changed. But was disappointed to learn I would need FSD to get it.

    Today car racer Taiwan Jimmy Lin Tesla car accident result as example...If the driver's death cause by burning, not because of a car crash! Says Tesla batteries are cheaper than gasoline. What is the use? To be honest, when Tesla went public in the United States many years ago, there were very few cases of car lithium battery fires, but at that time American firefighters have commented that lithium battery fires are terrible and difficult to put out. The news was only listed for 2 days before it was removed from the news site. Because it affects Tesla's sales. My husband wants to buy a Tesla, but I stop him from buying it. We argued for a few days. He said American Firefighters' comments were wrong. Now this car accident, my husband has nothing to say.
