I think it's crazy how different beatmakers will approach stuff. I heard so many samples I'd pitch down, pitch up, chop up, that he just skipped over man. Such a cool art form
***** Remember you can give 3 producers the same record to sample and it will be different because the mind is like finger prints everyone thinks different. peace.
***** I agree. He had like 1000 different directions he could've taken with all of those records and even the sample he chose. He chose like the weakest direction. It still was cool tho
+thatkidkasper I was thinking the same shit. I know a guy that can sample damn near anything. He picks the weirdest shit to me but it always turns out great.
I watched this years ago and never get sick of hearing this beat. It pops into my head frequently... and here I am listening yet again. My favorite rhythm roulette. Saw a comment I posted here 2 yrs ago and stand by it today: M.O.P. would be fire over this. IMO.
I almost tripped when he bypassed that Squeeze LP initially. I LOVED Squeeze back in the day and I heard some beat making material on this LP. Glad Ski Beatz used it!
Ive watched every episode of this series, and Ski yours is definitely in the top 3 because not only did you make good use of the records, you played your own instruments on top to make it a complete banger. Nice work man.
I write house and techno but love watching how other producers from all different genres go about creating their tracks , this one is one of the best I've seen from this series , by taking what would be a totally obscure British band like Squeeze to an American and turning their sounds on its head to create something completely new is brilliant , a lot of people say that sampling is lazy , I say it's not lazy finding that little 2 second bit of audio in amongst a full 50/60 minutes of music is an art form and if it wasn't for people like The Prodigy or The Chemical Brothers I would have missed out on a lot of other artists music if I hadn't read the sleeve notes of their albums and went and checked those guys out . I think even Jools Holland from Squeeze would like this 👍
This is by far one of the best I have seen you got it in Ski Beatz but I knew that was a given. You made to many classics not to come through on this!!! A true fan forever my homie!!
Its fantastic to see him work. Like the Rhythm Roulette for its few minutes top entainment. Along enough to eat a little bit and than go back to the studio. Thanks for sharing this.
This dude went HAM. Couldn't let well-enough alone with just the sample and some software. For the entire first part of the video, I thought that the MS-20 was just for show.
The most intimidating aspect of all of these awesome Rhythm Roulettes is the variety of set ups for each producer. Too many possibilities. A series on the different set ups, especially for people new to beat making would be extremely helpful.
Obviously 9th's was dope but he also had a better record selection. I think Ski, Erick Sermon and Black Milk had the best RR's cause they had 💩 to work with and made bangers.
Ski Beatz been a God! You see the last joint was like catnip, thats when you knew... like i see all the time in producers, that look of suprememe focus & you know the G is gonna do something spectactular! Great beat G!
Ok this one takes the cake. He blew me away with his skills to find them notes so fast. He knew right away when he heard the sample which one it was. AND the beat came out fucking fire.
That beat is ridiculous mayn I'm french and I started writing to it in english this sh... go supa hard so powerful can't get enough of that stuff top 3 on the show maybe my favorite one on some 9th Wonder type of level sh...
Man I would love to see 4 producers use the same records that was randomly chosen to make a beat just to see the different visions
now that be a cool concept!!
+airess1 you might like this www.twitch.tv/beatfightercompetition/profile
+airess1 check out soundcloud.com/eitgesitollective/sets/tapes all the producers had to use the same sample and bpm
A third party person should randomly pick the 3 records.
+airess1 that idea was once done on a Dutch show called LolaDaMusica
That Dead Presidents beat is about as close to perfection as you can get
I think it's crazy how different beatmakers will approach stuff. I heard so many samples I'd pitch down, pitch up, chop up, that he just skipped over man. Such a cool art form
***** True but that's the beauty of it! Respect!
If only more people wouldnthink that way that be dope no hate just an opinion but still show love wish i could see more comments like that
***** Remember you can give 3 producers the same record to sample and it will be different because the mind is like finger prints everyone thinks different.
One of the most underrated producers of all time.
Real shit. From Reasonable Doubt and Uptown Saturday Night, to taking Curren$y to another level, dude is on the low one of the illest.
That shit Sensei on the block with mos def was 🔥
I watched this years ago and never get sick of hearing this beat. It pops into my head frequently... and here I am listening yet again. My favorite rhythm roulette. Saw a comment I posted here 2 yrs ago and stand by it today: M.O.P. would be fire over this. IMO.

Dead Presidents is the greatest Rap instrumental I've ever heard in my life. Thank you, Ski!

Damn. That is a Grammy loop right there. Jay-Z could slay that
man I was just thinking that this sounds like something off the blueprint 3 or watch the throne😂😂😂
This is sick
I almost tripped when he bypassed that Squeeze LP initially. I LOVED Squeeze back in the day and I heard some beat making material on this LP.
Glad Ski Beatz used it!
This man literally created arguably the most iconic and best instrumental in rap history.
Ive watched every episode of this series, and Ski yours is definitely in the top 3 because not only did you make good use of the records, you played your own instruments on top to make it a complete banger. Nice work man.
And to top it all off, the beat did not sound like another Soul/R&B sampled beat….
Jay could do so much on a ski beat its ridiculous,
This shit was too ill we are talking about some heavyweight stuff here Ski is underrated
God damn.. That beat... Definitely the best episode yet.......
dude has some skills
Was just about to comment that... shit was dirty.
Nola Vibes 183rd's beat was pretty tough as well! Even tho some say he cheated
Without a doubt one of the finest Rhythm Roulette episodes. What a craftsman. 🔥👌😊
nice to see a hip hopper using an MS20
The only thing missing from this beat is Ghostface Killah.
Stay Solid ⚰️
Thats right
I can hear dipset on that beat
I think even Jools Holland from Squeeze would like this 👍
I think this has to be one of the best Rhythm Roulettes. Salute to Ski.
this was one of the dopest yet
Thats how you do the damn thang!!! Would love to hear M.O.P. over this.
These videos are timeless... and those drums were hard af
I wish he could have explained more of what he was doing, but this was Dope AF regardless
+EnBeez the EmCee Yea at first i was thinking that but if u start at 3:28 and Only listen, you'll hear everything he did.
he literally says everything he did in order at the 6 min mark lol
This one is insane, just his energy through the whole process
Jay-Z HAS to reunite with Ski at some point
👍👍!!!
+Ronald Wilson when the Roc split Ski went with Dame, but who knows things cooled down since then.
Facts!!!!!!!!!! Man!!!!!
@@phenton91 The Roc split in 05 Jay hadn't had a Ski beat since 96, plus ski never was Rock A Fella producer
Top 3 Rhythm Roulette.
More like top 1 to me. ill mind a not too close second.
Wan Shu !llMind. Marco Polo. Ski. And Black Milk
One of the more original. Two many hip hop producers try to create the same type of track. Kudos.
I hear Jay Z on this all day
Thought the same shit lol, sounds like it could be the intro track for his album.
Legendary!! Ski Beatz is always on point! Much respect!!
One of the best beats so far.
damn, this was the best one of this series ive seen so far. Powerful beat he made.
This guy made the beat for "Dead Presidents'?!
Yes.
He also produced feelin' it
L' Aku 77uhhh il
That's one of my favorite beats
@@salty782 feelin' it is smooth too. How do you have the same nickname as me bruh?
Once he pulled out the bass guitar, I knew he was in full on 'stunt mode' lol
That was a guitar brah.
He was kinda right?
davidwave4 no he wasn’t lol it’s a bass
99% sure that's a Baritone guitar by danelectro, it is tuned a 5th lower than a standard guitar.
Damn! Ski Beats been a beast for a minute! Nice chop and flip!
Of course ***** killed it, as always, dope bro!
GAATDAYUM he made that shit look 2 EASY!! True legend*
Bet my man Saint Joe could flip it just as easily!! Haha
ImaDroppa joe is cool...but, NAH!!
Always kills it.
This is by far one of the best I have seen you got it in Ski Beatz but I knew that was a given. You made to many classics not to come through on this!!! A true fan forever my homie!!
Ski is first producer I will contact when I get the funds.
SKI is too good. Possibly the dopest RR edition.
Its fantastic to see him work. Like the Rhythm Roulette for its few minutes top entainment. Along enough to eat a little bit and than go back to the studio. Thanks for sharing this.

I've been watching Rhythm Roulette since the beginning. This has gotta be at top three.

Possibly the best out of everyone that did Rhythm Roulette.
Ski is by far one of the most solid creators they've had on. Most can't beat the clock with that fiyah. He did.
I come here at least twice a year. This beat is BLAZING
Love seeing Maschine being used. Now everyone on FL
my god.. such a legend. very underrated
This was definitely one of my favorite RR videos to watch. It's cool to see the direction he took this joint.
Ski gets so into the production process! He looks like he's having a blast!
I love to see producers use maschine products especially super producer legends like Ski Beats!!!!! I'm native instruments for life!!
He uses the MPC X and Ableton Push 2 now. He only uses Maschine for live shows
i saw Ski Beatz and flipped. And then he killed it. Absolute legend.
this is the best Rhythm Roulette ive seen so far. Ski Beatz is the shit
it kills me how they always skip incredible shit...for incredible shit.
Quite possibly this is the best video/beat in the series, easy! Salute Mr. Ski Beats!
Ski Beatz is underrated and dope as a producer
ski. I gotta say thought 9th killed it till I heard this. gotta put you right up there man ..... dope.....
Obviously 9th's was dope but he also had a better record selection. I think Ski, Erick Sermon and Black Milk had the best RR's cause they had 💩 to work with and made bangers.
Best one I've seen YET!!! ONE OF MY TOP THREE!!!
That was one of the best I have heard on here. Along with Apollo Brown.
Wow Ski still got it...one of the best beats on here so far

Ski Beatz been a God! You see the last joint was like catnip, thats when you knew... like i see all the time in producers, that look of suprememe focus & you know the G is gonna do something spectactular! Great beat G!
probably best rhythm roulette! Beat is Banging!
This was mad dope. Ski Beatz did his thing!
Too dope. He had to show out on that guitar lol.
Ok this one takes the cake. He blew me away with his skills to find them notes so fast. He knew right away when he heard the sample which one it was. AND the beat came out fucking fire.

The best beat that came out of this series!
