Do you have to have a hot box to grow tires? Not sure if it matters but I have to use Burris.
No. Here is a couple ideas. rotisserie with a work light, putting a bunch of air in them then setting them out in the sun works. Hair dryer or heat gun the tread to introduce heat (try and keep it even across the tread) or even a oven would work.
Does it matter if you do this after prep or before prep?
No not really. It may bake out some of your prep but re size tires all the time.
i always air mine up to 35'' the week of the race. then at racing psi, they are 34''

35 seems little much to reach 34 on burris, if I did that I'd have a 34⅞-34¾ tire come raceday 🤷🏼♂️
