When we freeze the material which contain water in ampulse and then it contact with radiation heat ,ampulse are sealed then how sublimation occur

Freeze drying is done after filling (before Sealing) the material in final container

1/ It means keep shape and dimension of materials after using Freeze drying (FD), is it ?
2/ Why FD couldn't effect changes shape of materials?
