FILM DESCRIPTION:
Ford Brody (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), a Navy bomb expert, has just reunited with his family in San Francisco when he is forced to go to Japan to help his estranged father, Joe (Bryan Cranston). Soon, both men are swept up in an escalating crisis when Godzilla, King of the Monsters, arises from the sea to combat malevolent adversaries that threaten the survival of humanity. The creatures leave colossal destruction in their wake, as they make their way toward their final battleground: San Francisco.

After seeing what Godzilla can do in the later movies, ya gotta give credit to the male MUTO for consistently taking him on without fear or hesitation. He couldn’t really do much to him without the female’s help, but kudos to him for at least trying to 1v1 multiple times.
fact, after seeing how godzilla fight against ghidorah even before the bomb when he almost win in ocean and how he beat kong show why godzilla is the king of monsters, when we see 1vs1 with muto zilla already can win, but they still trying
This is a lazy out of shape godzilla who just woke up mate. The mutos to him are like fighting children. If godzilla is mike tyson, the mutos are featherweight. If godzilla is mike tyson, ghidorah is holyfield and so on.

@@cinemarxist_ As someone that has been a Godzilla fan for my whole life, I wasn't really thinking (nor afraid to say) "Did she just say Gonorrhea?" I would've been fine with "Oh my Godzilla" if it wasn't during what could've been a very emotional scene.
The worst part is that it wasn't even just him. No character in this movie took the destruction that was twice as bad as the destruction in 2014 even half as seriously. Even Serizawa couldn't have his emotional moment without the director making him say he read it in a fortune cookie.
@@ericdraven160 If I could cut one line of dialogue out of KOTM, it would be that goddamn gonorrhea joke. I was fine with the "Oh my Godzilla" joke because that is something that Godzilla fans actually say from time to time. I also thought that the fortune cookie joke had great comedic timing and felt appropriate given the context of the scene. Lastly I'd argue that with the exception of Dr. Stanton and Sam Coleman, all of the characters in KOTM took the destruction just as, if not more, seriously than the characters in the 2014 film.

Yes, it’s the thing to complain about how we don’t see the monsters a lot in this movie.
But at least consider how it FEELS every single second Godzilla is onscreen. It’s this pulse-pounding sense of genuine awe, especially helped by the way they shoot him: almost always from a grounded, human perspective, so his sense of girth and size is a visceral experience.
Sorta like how Darth Vader’s only on screen in the original Star Wars for a very limited amount of time-shorter than you’d expect, if you look it up.
It deepens the impact of when they’re finally on the screen.
And they throw any kind of immersion by going even deeper into the sci fi of it all in the 2nd movie & the Kong movie.
Imo this is a perfect Godzilla movie.
If only the human characters were interesting. This movie would be perfect.

I really hope GVK has Godzilla 2014 vibes. Kotm and Kong skull island were very enjoyable movies with the greatest monster fighting ever but it's just lacked mysterious terms of events. Slow but surprising clips sort of thing like how Godzilla first showed himself in the airport or how he killed the muto and when he went back to the ocean with the music and trumpets playing. Don't get me wrong both movies were great but 2014 Godzilla brought more hype.

@Inconceivable Disputes KOTM does cutaway but at least it shows the actual fight and when it cuts away to the human characters , it shows them in the middle of the action , so there's still some suspense going on.
2014 just builds up to a fight and then cuts away to a completely different irrelevant scene and it did that 2 or 3 times which got really annoying and frustrating , KOTM was much more balanced and less annoying in my opinion.

@@geometrydashiuppiter6910 That's not true , The monsters in KOTM have a sense of scale and weight to them like in 2014 , The Cinematography and Sound design do a good job empathizing their scale , Ghidorah felt really big , During the Rodan scene there was a shot where Ghidorah was flying towards the Argo with the lightening in the background , it was stunning and actually quite scary , you can see how tiny the Argo is compared to Ghidorah , if that's not a good sense of scale , I Don't know what it is.
If you want a movie where the monsters feel like toys watch Pacific Rim Uprising.
@@dexterjones849 Yeah, that shot was amazing. However, during the Boston battle, the sense of scale is just off, the creatures move way too fast and most of the time they look weird. Especially when Ghidorah starts chasing Emma, that looked awful including the CGI.
This Muto is fearless and awesome and I absolutely loved it ❤

So this movie lets the monsters fight it out as a reminder to man that nature is beyond our control, then KotM lets the humans join the fight against a foreign and unwelcomed being because said being threatened nature to extinction.
Is the Goji VS Kong fight gonna be about nature and humans coming to an agreement that not all fights should persist, and work together to stop a fight that may do more harm than good? Or is it going to be nature's turn to protect humanity in its own way just like how the humans protected it from Ghidorah?

As badass as this scene is, the fight was going to happen either way. They only had the choice of roll out or get rolled on.

I don't get why Godzilla didn't defeat the male Muto fairly early in the movie.
Yeah, sure, the script needed the male to meet the female, mate and then fight Godzilla together.
But come on, that thing is significantly smaller than Godzilla and looks fragile with those Bat-like wings. One good Godzilla bite and that looks like that would be the end.
