Didn't use any software aside from SFM, and didn't use any copyrighted materials (outside of Valve's IPs).
It was really difficult to get the 5 minutes limit on this movie, but I did it. :) Made a lot of improvements, added hats (as promised), reanimated some scenes to make them look better and as a lot of you requested - added music.
I'm really happy with the way the movie turned out, but for some reason I doubt I can win against professional animators, since I never studied animation and made my first animated movie 3 months ago, when SFM came out.
Still I feel very proud to be taking part in this amazing competition -- Annual Saxxy Awards 2012!
To all my subscribers -- thank you for all the kind words and support you've been giving me in the past months, I'd never been able to make this without you guys!

Once Upon A Time In 2fort -- Part 2 is coming in a couple of months! It will be a final chapter in this series. After that I'll continue making videos as long as I keep getting more viewers. I already have a couple of ideas for future SFM videos.
As for the rest of the gaming videos -- they're also coming! Not a lot of videos, but I think they're really funny.
So... Wish me luck guys, hopefully I'll get at least a honorable mention on TF2 website, because making this was a real challenge for me. And If you think it's worth voting for -- I'd be very grateful if you did!
P.S. And I'd like to thank Valve for releasing SFM, and making my cinematography dreams come true!

The scene where the RED engineer got killed by BLU heavy genuinely made me uncomfortable on how grizzled it was. A nice job nonetheless

It's really weird how it has started from this small, guerilla-made SFM and has ended in 7 episodes' long series with Scout getting clinical deppression and Pyro becoming literally Satan himself

It's basically crazy how it started off lighthearted and humorous, ya know, the nine crazy mercs against another batch of nine crazy mercs, TF2 style. And then it descends to an utter dark thriller kind of story, you see that they don't respawn, there's this devil of a Pyro and suddenly it's carved in your memory as the day the BLU team got eliminated and replaced completely except for one member. Nevertheless, amazing entry that branched out into a hole remarkably written series! It truly makes you feel something intense. I've never viewed the intel room in 2Fort the same way after watching this...

This is the first sfm ive ever seen where the spy is a good guy
I feel like emesis blue took some inspiration from this video & the ghosts of the past series later on, with the elements presented. It made come back here and appreciate it even more. I believe this entry was the catalyst that caused a ripple effect that opened up new possibilities & imaginations for contemporary animations to be made by using sfm as a tool. Which is thanks to this video.

One of my favorite SFM videos.
I STILL can't believe this didn't earn the Saxxy award! It was hands-down the best video in the competition. It totally deserved it.
If you say that it's only because you didn't see Story of a Sentry. Yes this video is great, but the other one is way better overall. Now if Konstantine back then submitted the Part 2 of this series however, now THAT video could have easily been the winner of Saxxy awards 2012.
God i loved this so much, I really wish that the Saxxys had some category for longer videos cause this is truly amazing in both animation and storyline, I think you should re-enter this next year.
If they do make a category for longer videos, he should submit this and part 2 of it for the Saxxy's next year

This was the first TF2 thing I ever saw, and honestly, it's the whole reason I picked up the game in the first place. All these years later and it's still amazing. I even made my Pyro loadout the one from here so I could never forget where I started.

I was amazed when I first saw your videos, the first one being this. I couldn't help but just almost start crying at the second part and the subsequent animations that followed. You truly are an inspiration to me. I am confident that part 3 of "Ghosts of the past" will be as incredible as this. I hope you have success in the upcoming Saxxy awards. I'm currently busting my ass making a final part almost daily. ;) Hopefully it will be worth it and people like it, because I'm making way too many sacrifices to my schedules!

I know this is SFM but in the real game right as soon as the spy disguised as the sniper came in the engineers would have shot him.
Unless. Of course... The players are new to the game. I remember playing in a modded 2Fort where I sapped a newbie's sentry, and he was just staring at his sentry slowly dying. Then I stabbed him. The end.

Thank you! I'm just getting frustrated that I can't get it done sooner. :( A lot of personal stuff is getting in the way (along with a job) and it's really hard to to work under stress and not fuck everything up. Hopefully everything turns out okay soon and I won't be such a psychological mess for my next SFM projects. :)

This was one of the first non-official SFMs I watched back in the day, it’s probably the reason why me and some friends got really into the game even outside of playing it and to this day I revere it as one of my favorites. Crazy to think that it was just the first part to a long series!

I never realized that when the spy helps scout up in the beginning, you can see the blue pyro being chased by the red spy. That’s probably why the sniper knew the pyro was a spy later in the series; nice attention to detail

RED isn't the bad guys, BLU isn't the good too. Most of those TF2 videos ends with BLU's intelligence stolen, and RED got arrested afterwards.

This is by far one of my favorite sfms. Great work.
True dat. SFM is actually the hardest as they take the voices from what the characters say in game. The coordination and smoothness is actually great in this video.
