People from small towns in Texas have the same experiences as y’all do going to the big cities of Texas. And by the way, Houston traffic is far worse than DFW! Oh and and stay away from Austin between 3 PM - 7 PM! Especially on I-35!
Moved to Dallas from Houston 8 months ago and the traffic here in Dallas is horrible all weekend because the suburbs between Dallas and Ft. Worth are huge. Traffic in Houstons seems worst because everyone basically drive in to Houston from suburbs to work. I miss Houston because it's more laid back where here everything is fast pace.
The big thing that got me is how much Texas loves Texas. I'm from Missouri, where it is what it is- we don't really have a state "identity", per se. It is kinda endearing, and rarely turns into an ego thing unless a native is joking around about it. Also- A coke is any soda. They call shopping carts buggies.
I love you're list of Texas experiences. We live in Colorado Springs and have been to Texas a few time, most recently to by Ram. Thank you for preparing us for our next trip will be in the winter in our camper to escape the cold.
The area of Old Denton Road & Trinity Mills Rd in Carrollton is called K Town, Korea Town. Frisco has a K Town too, great food! Legacy West, on the Plano Frisco boarder, has outstanding food. Nice place to walk around on a cool evening. Be careful when you drive on the tollways, they charge you more to be on it at different times of day. I avoid them anymore.
Texas is its own country. When we visited Italy, if we said we were from United States, they were not impressed. When we said we were from Texas, they were Wow and engaged in conversation. So we learned quickly to say we were from Texas! That’s how amazing it is here! Native Houstonian... Spring/Woodlands. We grow out not up.

Born and bred in Texas ... and I find it fun to see newcomers’ reactions to the Lone Star State, it’s people, and state of mind. The one thing I do have to say, I road trip a lot and have been to 42 states so far, so I can tell you that there are a lot of similarities, as well as differences. One thing I’m told from newcomers to Texas is: I heard, before coming, that Texans were supposed to be so friendly, and though some are, a lot are not ... my response: did you ask the not so friendly if they were native Texans? 🤔 The only thing native Texans request is that people moving to our state respect our state, and not try to change us to what you came from ... we will not, so if you like the way things were in your state, then feel free to go back 😁 otherwise, give our way of life a true try, and welcome 💗 (P.S. just about anywhere outside of Dallas looks upon that city as the red-headed step child of our state - and this coming from a redhead 😝, so don’t judge all of Texas by one city, we are a diversified state. Thanks)
Korpian no, not everyone ... I didn’t for most of my life, though raised around them and taught how to handle one in my teens. It wasn’t until recently I wanted one, just in case 🤷♀️ but I’d say probably 2/3s have at least one, whether it’s a hand gun, rifle, or shotgun.
Korpian no, not unless they’re being threatened ... I realize there are assholes out there who have no respect for human lives, but most of us raised around guns have a healthy respect for both the guns and human lives
Country people are the nicest Texans and always are well mannered. I was born in Houston and was brought up using manners and being polite to everyone.
Speaking of traffic, I was visiting Texas and I learned never travel early in the morning around 3-4 am. Everyone drives like they have to be at work the next second. I pulled over on the side of the road and watched the parade.
I live in Houston and travel a lot back to Arkansas. Houston is like Nascar at 3 AM. People will literally race here and they don't give a dang about cops. lol
OK 11:00 in. People in Texas did not used to play their music loud. Or in anyway cause a disturbance. Those are Teenagers or the City not enforcing noise pollution. You need to move. An leave a notice as of why. We normally talk to residents about this an suggest what we FULLY SUPPORT. Go to a park. Parks you can make lots of noise. But NOT in residential residence.
Thinking of moving there myself from Miami (former new Yorker ) but have my Doubts , looking to move for the last time and retire, Florida got to expensive and the is always hot (nothing’s changes out here ) Miami Beach is overrated lol (should I do it ?)
Just don't choose South Texas, I live in the Rio Grande Valley moved from California. They have beautiful places up North, around Fredericksburg, New Braunfels if you like country life. Many people have moved to DFW and other places around there, personally after living in San Jose don't want to live in a big metropolis. I'm not moving I like hot weather. Good luck
Bumpkins, once I get to McKinney that's Dallas. Hate the driving down there. Head North to Lake Texoma and Red River for something like where yaller from
I just moved to Dallas 7 months ago from Michigan and I LOVE IT HERE !!! Everything you guys said is true only thing is I wish I had saw this video sooner 🥰 great job you two you nailed it !!!
I am from Texas we who care say if you don't have to be driving when it's raining don't. People don't know how to drive In The rain. Watch out for people who do rolling stop, run red light, don't use there blinker or turn it on to early or late. You should not drink and drive but people do so be careful. Choice wisly when to honk your horn because if you do you might get someone with road rage or worse, Be prepared it can in the summer be 105 degrees with 100% humidity. Winter 80-32 degrees rare to have snow.
It's the cost of living and yes we do have lots of transplants from the east coast and West coast. Most people move to Texas because they want home ownership. You just have to get used to it here because we are large and really diverse. Everything is Bigger and Better in Texas
I live in Houston TX and the traffic is a mess I avoid the freeway as much as possible thank God for Mitch quick thinking to avoid that accident glad you'll are ok hope and pray that everyone in the comments have a bless evening🙏🙏

Thank you for this! My husband and I are seriously considering the dfw metroplex (specifically CityLine). And being from MI I 100% agree with the fact that driving in snow makes you a better driver!! Thanks again! :)
Grew up in the Frisco/Prosper area of DFW and now I live in Loring Park near downtown MPLS. I’ve never seen a slicker road (when wet/snowy) than I-94 W towards Downtown between the Cedar Ave exit and the 11th street/hwy 55 exit.
We moved to Fort Worth from Minneapolis 2 years ago. We love it. Fort Worth is way quieter than Dallas. People opening doors surprised me too. Alot of speed racers on the road here. I love Chic Fil A too! Hardly had it when in Minnesota. Yes there are tons of restraunts here. 50% of Texans eat out every week. Lol! I'm so relating to your video. My first week in Forth Worth I meet 3 California's that moved within the last 3 years. The driving here is crazy 😳. The apartments and houses are much better than Minnesota, they are bigger more modern and more affordable. Thank you for the video!
Hey guys, we moved here from Chicago a few years ago. 2 things to add that I learned. 1. Highway driving is scarier down here. We call it "Pulling a Texas" - where they see the exit they want as about to pass it and shoot 3 lanes over to make it. I see that weekly it seems. And 2. Guys, when you go to a register and the cashier is female, esp. if your girl isn't there. Good chance you will be called hun, babe, sugar etc etc. They are NOT flirting with you, it's just a southern thing. I knew it right away but still felt strange for awhile never hearing that stuff up north.
I lived in Texas my whole life, west Texas and Dallas. My husband and I loved to Colorado to experience some real winter and live close to the magnificent mountains three years ago. We loved it, I adored the snow.. but it was hella expensive with all the taxes and fees for everything that is also based on tax ($1300 car registration?!), but also because the housing prices are unreal and we can get so much more house and land for our money in Texas. And.. Colorado was pretty isolating. I personally missed a lot of my close friends and family in Texas and though I met some great people in Colorado, none of them were from there. I really became aware of the term “native” in Colorado because the people who grew up there will let you know that and over time it gets really annoying. Native Coloradans don’t seem to want new residents around and that’s not my vibe so we peaced out and came back to Dallas.
What city did you live in in co? I’m from Texas and have thought of moving to co for mountains and weather but I also love Texas because it has so much to offer
Just found your video, going through you tube and I'am subscribing RIGHT NOW! Cause you guys interact well on camera and it was fun watching you guys , it was not boring at all to watch. Love the tips even though I will not be moving to Dallas any time soon, Instead moving to San Antonio from Tampa, Florida. But it was fun getting another perspective from someone like your selves that have relocated and have some feedback.
I'm a native New Yorker now living in the south, and I have always held the door open for people behind me, male or female. Didn't realize I was so unique.
Thank God you made it out safely from the near accident near Waco. We would love to send some appreciation money YOUR way each month!! Let us know how!!! Keep the love going and keep appreciating each other. Bless you both
God bless you both. Note: the reason Texas is so strong in jobs is due to it's conservative values, favorable business environment and love of liberty. Vote accordingly. Welcome to Texas.
@gereikat Wrong!!. Venezuela is very rich in oil. Look at them now, a Socialist mess. Country falling apart, starvation. It's Texas' conservative values that makes it strong.
I laughed when they talked about people moving there from Ca,Oregon,Colorado and Arizona. It's obvious to most why but I guess it's not cool to say it? Lol
gereikat...number one reason Texas is successful is due to its favorable business environment...you the stupid one...California gots lots of oil and it’s a shit hole.
I agree with you on Dallas being super fast paced all of the time. It seriously stresses me out!!! I feel like the only time you have to slow down or settle down is when you are at home. Great video, love you guys. 👍❤️
Most of my friends who have moved to Dallas have told me the job market is VERY hot there. Atlanta has kind of gone down...trash, crowded, crime, high real estate, etc. Dallas is a better choice every day of the week.
I work off of Old Denton and Dickerson! I still get excited about the Asian dedicated businesses! And yes especially the church!!!! Love it!!!! Great video and welcome to Dallas!!!
That sounds awesome! Are there any African American dedicated businesses and/or affluent African American communities? My family and I are looking to move to Texas in the very near future.
You guys hit it spot on. My husband and I moved from Oklahoma to Dallas a couple of years ago. We love it here though. It definitely takes some adjusting.
Enjoyed your video. Welcome to Texas. It sounds like you've still got a lot to see and experience. I'm a native Texas. I'm 66 and I tried to leave after I graduated from UT but something kept pulling me back. Here's some other Texas things to check out. Our extreme weather is July & August. You'll need a pool or lake plus an AC. Y'all probably figured that out. We are very proud of our BBQ and chili. Texas BBQ is a different cooking style than anywhere else. Look for the places with the longest lines out front. In Texas, there are NO beans in chili. If there's beans, it's stew. Go to a high school football game in the fall. Any high school. The hill country in the fall is beautiful. Try to find a music festival. If we ever get to have one again.Local music is excellent most of the time. Austin is great for live music, but it's crowded and bad traffic like DFW. The Gulf coast is great.Try the Sandfest in Port Aransas in April. And finally, take that butt-numbing 10 hour drive to Big Bend in the spring or fall. It make for good memories. Be open, honest and kind and you'll be alright. Oh yeah, work "y'all" into your vocabulary.
I’m from WI, currently a resident in MN. My family and I are HIGHLY considering moving to Texas! I can’t wait to visit. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and highlights of Texas!
I really enjoyed the video, and although I have no plans to move to Texas, I nevertheless found it very informative. Now, what I enjoyed most about your presentation, was you, you guys are a real joy to watch, you have such wonderful body language. I particularly liked the way you relate to each other, and the viewer; this was a pleasurable viewer experience. This video has markedly improved my opinion of Texas, which until now, had merely been a collection stereotypes, and memes, we, people in California normally apply to Texas.
Hi guys !!! Great video ! I’m relocating to Texas from New Jersey I’m deciding between Houston and Dallas , any comparison or impute you could share ? Your guidance is appreciated
Thank you so much Destiny and Mitch for sharing! I’m from WI and currently a resident in MN. I intentionally moved here after a 20 year separation of living in the same state as my immediate family. However my significant other and I are highly considering moving! Your video along with reading the comments gave me a lot of insight and inspiration too! ♥️
Immerse yourself in the culture. You can go square dancing, horse riding, hay rides, pick strawberries, pumpkins, apples at a farm, lots of museums downtown Dallas and Fort Worth, go to cultural festivals, and as you said try all kinds of foods!
I just subbed too btw! I think you two would love Washington or Oregon during the spring or summer time if you haven’t been yet. I’m going to miss those two seasons living in The PNW for sure. Sold our house a few days ago and will be in Dallas, Texas by the end of the month. I’m nervous and excited at the same time. Coming from a more chill + slow very blue state to a “zero fks” face place like Texas is going to be interesting but all of my family are over there. The wifey is tired of the gloominess and the rain and I would like the kids to grow up with their cousins. So true as well that there is so much to do down there, I just gotta get used to the drivers. I’m pretty cautious and know how to drive in crap conditions because it rains literally 70% of the year in Washington and we get some pretty icy roads in February for a few days or so. Love your guys’ vibe, keep the great content coming.
There's plenty of us who are definitely NOT Cowboys fans! They're a joke! Like " Visit the Cowboys stadiums, don't worry about catching the virus, bc they can't catch ANYTHING!" Lol..

People from small towns in Texas have the same experiences as y’all do going to the big cities of Texas. And by the way, Houston traffic is far worse than DFW! Oh and and stay away from Austin between 3 PM - 7 PM! Especially on I-35!
Yup, small town Texas is a whole 'nother country. Highly recommended.
Welcome to Texas y'all. I'm a Texas native. The hospitality is real that's just who we are as Texans we take pride in our state 🙂
The area of Old Denton Road & Trinity Mills Rd in Carrollton is called K Town, Korea Town. Frisco has a K Town too, great food! Legacy West, on the Plano Frisco boarder, has outstanding food. Nice place to walk around on a cool evening. Be careful when you drive on the tollways, they charge you more to be on it at different times of day. I avoid them anymore.
2020 Texas = 1970 California.
So sad...Cali used to be the place to be...now everyone is leaving...so sad what the Dems have done to Cali
Remember to vote RED! To keep Texas a good place to live!!
1970 California was when Reagan was the governor
@@a.f5388 I will be shining red laser beams of patriotism when I arrive, don't worry 😁😁😁
I love that that’s what we are after
So happy to watch this. I'm from northern Iowa and moving to Texas in a few months
From an Italian girl here in Italy we see Texas as hell, guns, racist, not feminist and homophobic people, not a great thought of your country
Hey im from spring/woodlands area too.
......its own country.....?!....
No offense but re read history 101..
Between mex-Tex revolution...

You guys are absolutely right about Dallas Texas ! I’ve been here 50 yrs and I agree 100% with what u say!
We are so proud to be TEXANS.....GOD BLESS TEXAS!
DONT FORGET WHATABURGER!!!
Whataburger is definitely better than In-N-Out
Born and bred in Texas ... and I find it fun to see newcomers’ reactions to the Lone Star State, it’s people, and state of mind.
Very well said!
Aww explains all the cowboy haters
Speaking of traffic, I was visiting Texas and I learned never travel early in the morning around 3-4 am. Everyone drives like they have to be at work the next second. I pulled over
on the side of the road and watched the parade.
Hahaha this is SO true!! It's probably cause there's no one else on the road, but it's still dangerous 🙄
So True!!! Every morning!!!
I live in Houston and travel a lot back to Arkansas. Houston is like Nascar at 3 AM. People will literally race here and they don't give a dang about cops. lol
I’m from Texas and while eating chick fila watching this video lol
Wait until you see how most people handle ice/snow in DFW. Now that is scary!
Rain and snow in Texas mean speed up😄
OK 11:00 in.
I moved to Abilene, Tx from New Jersey. I've NEVER gone back. Texas is the best.
im in san angelo
Thinking of moving there myself from Miami (former new Yorker ) but have my Doubts , looking to move for the last time and retire, Florida got to expensive and the is always hot (nothing’s changes out here ) Miami Beach is overrated lol (should I do it ?)
Just don't choose South Texas, I live in the Rio Grande Valley moved from California.
They have beautiful places
up North, around Fredericksburg, New Braunfels if you like country life. Many people have moved to
DFW and other places around there, personally after living in San Jose don't want to live in a big metropolis. I'm not moving I like hot weather. Good luck
@@lolitatex8788 Remember why you left liberal California. Keep Texas Texas.
Nursing jobs located in Abilene but is there any racial issues? Noticed some online, just scared of "small town negatives". Help!
you for got to mention that we shut Texas down with just the thought of snow
What snow? LOL
@@mitchellcole832 lol it's soooo funny reading this today since right now there's a snow storm and over 2 million people without power.
“Shut down“ is a relative term. It’s too dangerous to drive to work. It’s OK to drive to go shopping or to eat out.
Damn... doesnt work like that here in Canada
I’m thinking of moving to Texas from New Jersey thank you for sharing your experience with us. Girl you’re in love we can see it in your 👀 that great.
Same here
Bumpkins, once I get to McKinney that's Dallas.
Hi, how's I still going? I'm looking to love to Texas. Which part do not flood?
@@Unique77783 me too!! I'm trying to relocate there within 6 months, PRAYING for you and pray for me as well both trying to TRANSITION to greater 😗
Yvette Garrett if only Texas had a lot more snow I’d move there, but it’s not a diverse climate
Most people move to Texas for monetary reasons. Mountains can be visited on vacations. Bills and expenses are daily.
I’m born & raised in Texas & y’all said mostly everything right! Good video.👍🏽
Great video thank you! One question what is that noise in the background? Sounds like a water pump or something...
I live in Houston TX and the traffic is a mess I avoid the freeway as much as possible thank God for Mitch quick thinking to avoid that accident glad you'll are ok hope and pray that everyone in the comments have a bless evening🙏🙏
Get out. I did last year and it was the BEST decision for me ever.

How is it as an interracial couple in Texas? My friend and I talk about this. Just wanting to know are people friendly to you guys?
I'm not them but I am biracial (so interracial parents) and we've lived in SATX since 2003 and personally have not experienced any racism or judgment! My parents said TN was where they felt it at but I've always felt comfortable here:)
you know maybe 50-60-70 years ago i'd be like that question would make sense. but post 70s, 80s, 90s 00s 10s and now in 2020. stuff like that isnt a priority or topic i ever talk about

What don't move to Texas
you guys are Awesome and hope run into you both once i move to dallas !
What is a shoulder? sorry I'm Canadian lol
I’ve lived in Dallas all my life. Fort Worth is a city to itself. It’s crazy
Lol your so right I live in ft worth and we just chilling😂❤️
Dawn Bogar You’re exactly right lol.. been here all my life.. ft worth chillin 😂
I've really noticed number 3 day one. And I'm on both side of the road. I just stay in the middle because exits are on both sides
We moved from WV to TX two years ago and this is soooo accurate. :)
Highway driving haven't always been like this. Too many people moving here. It's too much now.
I guess the driving thing is missing an exit means driving way way out of your way to turn around. Also, sometimes the way back is not so easy.
Dallas resident here 🙋♀️ and these are all FACTS!
I feel the love from here 💕 🥲 yall are just beautiful energy
I wouldnt move to Colorado. It has the same people and prices now that it seems Portland has. Another hell im trying to move out of.
Long Legged One can’t move away from perception
What city did you live in in co? I’m from Texas and have thought of moving to co for mountains and weather but I also love Texas because it has so much to offer
Im from colorado but moved to texas 6 yrs ago were opposites xd
Just found your video, going through you tube and I'am subscribing RIGHT NOW! Cause you guys interact well on camera and it was fun watching you guys , it was not boring at all to watch. Love the tips even though I will not be moving to Dallas any time soon, Instead moving to San Antonio from Tampa, Florida. But it was fun getting another perspective from someone like your selves that have relocated and have some feedback.
I never knew people didn't open the door for you all the time until I went out of state lmao everyone is so much friendlier in Texas. Love my home
I'm a native New Yorker now living in the south, and I have always held the door open for people behind me, male or female. Didn't realize I was so unique.
You should try Honolulu, cold is 65 and rainy.
Glad I found this I’m from Minnesota and moving to Houston at the end of August
Why? Did you move down there?
if you may please explain the transition portion with all the health advisory and traveling requirements
I moved to Dallas 10 years ago and you are spot on about the driving speeds lol
Texas is awesome I moved from NYC just before covid hit..

God bless you both. Note: the reason Texas is so strong in jobs is due to it's conservative values, favorable business environment and love of liberty. Vote accordingly. Welcome to Texas.
fandude7 Texas! Come and take it!,
@gereikat Wrong!!.
Great points glad y’all didn’t get in a crash. I’m sure I owe some toll money from my last visit there.
I agree with you on Dallas being super fast paced all of the time. It seriously stresses me out!!! I feel like the only time you have to slow down or settle down is when you are at home. Great video, love you guys. 👍❤️
Thanks for the video. Stay well. Stay safe, and have a wonderful life.
This definitely helped me. I plan on moving to Dallas soon! P.S. y’all are adorable 😍 God bless

Don't. I heard Atlanta is better. Go there.
Most of my friends who have moved to Dallas have told me the job market is VERY hot there. Atlanta has kind of gone down...trash, crowded, crime, high real estate, etc. Dallas is a better choice every day of the week.
Next month i will be moving to San Antonio, and while i currently live in North Dakota this helped me gain a little bit of insight! thank you
Hope you enjoy The river city
I work off of Old Denton and Dickerson! I still get excited about the Asian dedicated businesses! And yes especially the church!!!! Love it!!!! Great video and welcome to Dallas!!!

Brent Winn thank you, my brother and kids moved to Sherman.
nice, so they shut dwn the music festival?? i hrd they didnt hv many lockdwns in texas?

I really enjoyed the video, and although I have no plans to move to Texas, I nevertheless found it very informative. Now, what I enjoyed most about your presentation, was you, you guys are a real joy to watch, you have such wonderful body language. I particularly liked the way you relate to each other, and the viewer; this was a pleasurable viewer experience. This video has markedly improved my opinion of Texas, which until now, had merely been a collection stereotypes, and memes, we, people in California normally apply to Texas.

Immerse yourself in the culture. You can go square dancing, horse riding, hay rides, pick strawberries, pumpkins, apples at a farm, lots of museums downtown Dallas and Fort Worth, go to cultural festivals, and as you said try all kinds of foods!
Welcome to Texas. Just never forget what motivated you to come and be part of the greatest Republic in the USA.
What are some good neighbors with good elementary schools? Thank you!
Ft worth area is better. I live in the mid cities in between Dallas and Ft worth.
I love that y'all talked about the drivers... I have the opposite experience! Everyone here in Dallas knows how to drive compared to Florida XD
Omg dude I can’t stand the way us Floridians drive
Mitch you're gonna have to convert to a Cowboys fan because they LOOOOVE their Dallas Cowboys there in Texas.
