what coil is better,open 10 inch or solid 4 inch coil?I haven't tried 4 inch yet as I'm not sure where to try it to work best.Any ideas I would appreciate.Thanks.Im beginner.

+BigCladWolf sand will move back into and refill them they are like holes in a beach!!
+NH beach metaldetecting I think I'm starting to get it now. I've been trying to visualize what it is you're talking about on screen, I didn't realize that much sand moved back and forth with the tides. So the "cut" is the exposed rocks from the tides.
+BigCladWolf yup almost looks like a tidal pool on a beach about 5 ft of sand has now refilled the area!!
I got a tip for you , & I'm only a novice, fill your god dam holes after you've dug them , people can twist their ankles putting a foot in them

If you watch his vid's, he goes back and fills them. This is just used to know where he's moved through at a glance. He's there VERY early in the morning so almost nobody on the beach.
Does it really matter. The water will cover it up on the first wave.
