Penix will not make as good of an NFL QB, because he isn't mobile enough, and he is going to get hit. He is not durable. Nix is looking like a much better prospect. Nix is a leader, Penix less so from what I've seen. Penix got roughed up by Oregon, and you haven't seen much since from him or Washington. That speaks to leadership.
Pretty extreme take.... Penix threw for 369 yards, 4 TD's and 1 INT (on a borderline PI not called) against Stanford. The Defense was the biggest concern last week. The only reason Penix isn't mobile is because the system is keeping him from being so. If Grubb and DeBoer give him the green light, Penix can be an electric runner out in the open. If Washington gets refocused and knocks off the turnovers (have committed 6 in the last 2 games), they could be back to its previous form. A lot of big challenges coming to prove that including @ USC, Utah, @ OSU, and the Apple Cup. If they drop 2 of these, then we know there's legitimacy to the concerns.. so we'll see.. Nix is a stud, no question but I think the criticism on Penix is a bit harsh.
I'll take back my leadership criticism back, but he seems to be more of a leader by example than a vocal one. I can't picture him running the ball. If he could, and be durable it probably would take some of the heat out of the rush. Stanford had a chance, and they aren't very good. ASU is probably better than their record, but Washington had them at home, and looked vulnerable. Maybe being flat after the big win is a symptom.@@ericwood9961

You should go look at the games ever since Texas Tech. They have really cleaned up the penalties. They do not commit many penalties and that is a fact.
USC is paying alot for an elite head football coach. They are entitled to having an elite coaching staff with that coach. They aint got it. Hope Riley makes significant staff changes to align with USC's expectations.
