As a regular at the L&D 19 at Keokuk I do appreciate your kind words, Capt. Kyle. Many of the frequent watchers & chatters there are referencing your videos, and the knowledge they gained from them. We, if I may speak for my fellow participants there too, really like to have contact into the industry. Now we only need to spread the word between helmspeople, mates and deckhands to recognize the worldwide crowd watching in Keokuk by a small sign with a hand, or the blow of the horn. The cheer would be heard all along the Mississippi. BTW I am Austrian, and anticipate your last name .... Save travels, Captain Kyle, when you are back on the river, get your back well again soon.
It sure is pretty when there's hills, bluffs, and trees next to the river with a small town sprinkled in every so often; the makings of a "happy place" that is actually attainable. The juxtaposition of that big riverboat sharing a beach with those cabins is kinda funny.
At 0:31 is the Twilight at Guttenberg Iowa doing there Dubuque to Guttenberg Trip, they always nose into the bank there just below Lock 10, The Twilight is out of LeClaire Iowa and run two day trips LeClaire to Dubuque and back as well as one day trips and sight seeing cruise out of LeClaire Iowa built by Leevac and finished out at Bath Illinois. Designed by and Operated Originally by Capt. Dennis R Trone, who also built the Julia Belle Swain at Dubuque in 1972.
