It's not an ego thing. Everyone loves new tools and a good deal. We're just living vicariously through abom

Exactly so. I'm sorry for the people associated with the firm that went bust, but happy for Abom who will give this gear a good home.

Absolutely no wrong impressions! I am an engineer, not a machinist, and love this content. I watch your videos mostly to lean more about processes, machining, and tools. While I may not ever buy or use any of this equipment myself, it certainly helps me as an engineer and project manager, to better understand what me and my team work with to get the job done on a daily basis. Keep it coming!

Yes, we do like to see what you guys buy. Many of us are learning. Seeing what you value and why is as useful as anything else.
I'd like to add, please don't change your video style. I've seen many comments that sort of suggest you should "cut to the chase". Don't. I learn as much or more from your little here and there comments as I do from actually watching you work.

I have never thought you were a man to boast about anything. You are in an industry that has some cool gear and it is just the needs of the business. That said The care and love put in the old gear is amazing. Thanks for sharing.

Adam, I've been watching your videos for a while. If you want to experiment, I'll be watching. You've earned it.
The ones I think are best are where you are really into it and obviously enjoy sharing while you learn. The whole series of getting the shaper going for example, your love for what you are doing, and for sharing it, comes through. Folks like Mr Pete (I watch him too) you should listen to them all -- but then make your own decisions based on how well it goes for you.

Are you kidding? I love watching these types. It lets us know what interests you. As a non-machinist, I find it very interesting to see the different tools and accessories that you guys use. One of the reasons I watch Mr Pete.

Man, you are looking so good! Your energy levels seem to be up too. I subscribed some weeks ago and am binge watching your early production (around SNS 40 at the mo). I am an old geezer now but started out my life as an indentured engineering apprentice back in the 60’s. I then moved into IT as there was more money in it and that provided me with a good living. However I missed the craftsmanship and the constant intellectual stimulus of producing components to specification. So satisfying and your vids feed that nostalgia. Keep up the good work good Sir. Alan. UK

I enjoy these equipment/tool videos because of what I learn, the vicarious pleasure of pawing through other people's stuff, and, as for the auctions, I can't imagine the sheer scope and size of some machines. The Manown auction was very cool. I want a Bridgeport Mill to magically appear in my garage for a $100. ( Did I hear that right. The two sold for a hundred dollars each?)

You don't have to explain anything about what some viewers may like or dislike. Haven't you noticed that the thumbs down are often among the first to watch the videos "all of the time". If you walked on water the "same few" would vote thumbs down. And yeah, you got some nice stuff there. Glad to see you with it.

Nice score Adam! I believe those adjustable vee blocks are used to support work during inspection on a surface plate. You can adjust them with a test bar and indicator to make sure the work is parallel to the surface plate. Essentially an alternative to using centers to inspect shafts and such.

Hi Adam. I am new to machining and love to see your videos. They are like hands on lessons both in machinist work and where to look for good prices. I like seeing these really cool tools and precision instruments. It is almost like I am living vicariously through you guys showing off these items. I have never once thought you were showing this stuff as a "bragging rights" kind of thing. More of a show and tell thing where we viewers are seeing the different types of tools and what they can be used for. Keep up the great work!
BTW. I would have thought a "go" gauge for threads would be if the bolt you are using threads in or not.

Keep posting, I personally really enjoy seeing what new tools you have acquired. It may be too personal but how much you were able to pick things up for is nice to hear. Those Jacobs chucks that seem to be locked up can easily be taken apart and cleaned. I have done several that that were being thrown out at work (before I retired), they work great after a good cleaning and a little deburring.

To be honest, watching the walk through and auction was at times a little sad. I guess I kept thinking about all the years and effort it took to put together a facility like that. However, there is good that comes by way of you and others benefiting from the factories liquidation. One thing for sure, what came to you Adam will be valued and used or passed on. One of many things I admire and respect about you and the other creators is your very appreciative attitude towards tools. I hope all these treasures give you much joy and utility!

Nice score Adam! I love me some auction plunder! I don't see you as boasting about anything because you're not that kind of fella. You got some serious value in those tools/tooling for not a lot of money and that will put you farther ahead in your business venture. Not everyone can afford new tools/tooling of this variety and this is a smart way to purchase what you need to work with, and also get some extras to maybe sell to recoup some of the expense. Can't wait for part 2!

From what you were saying about how much several of the items go for new, you probably have saved a fortune in tools with what you actually paid. As you said about picking up a couple of lots that you were able to get for very little and knowing how much they were actually worth is a good investment as trading items if nothing else. I think you did GOOD.

Got beat , the adjustable vee blocks are for inspection use. Nice hall of many good tools and tooling. Even the stuck chucks can be rebuilt easily, even the centers can get new bearings. Too big for my logan or I'd ask to buy a center in 2- Morse . If you sell a super spacer let me know. If it's not to costly I'd like one. Your looking good with losing some weight. I was as big or bigger then you. I'm down to just under 300 , everything is better . If I can ever get the nerve pinching pain in control ill get my shop up and running . Wheelchair machinist , fabrication . Three years doctoring and still bed bound in pain. Thanks for keeping me in hopes of getting back.

    Hi Adam from England
Them Bower type gauges are big money...
    Made in Bradford...i think
This reminds me of the time I dropped down the M1 motorway to Leicester....picked me up nearly 1/2 ton of taps, dies, drills, reamers and measuring/marking out...
Amongst that lot were a Porter Cable USA 12V drill...
A couple of WOLF UK straight type foundry grinders and a very nicely made USA clamshell type thread restoring tool that I've been told is for cleaning up hub threads on Chryslers...
    Allsorts...
A lot of measuring /marking out & inspection...
    A lot...
Its nice when you grabs stuff like this...
